  1. Hey Cody, You'll like this one. In an amazing coincidence, the new installment of "Metal School" posted today features "Raven". It's a great watch.
  2. Another one for Lucas. The original "Bruno Mars" track is a great Pop song and I love the "Charlie Parra" Metal cover with "Pellek" on vocals.
  3. Talking about pissing him off. You've made a commitment that you've already reneged on twice. You must give him his due.
  4. My Mum loved music as much as I do. She grew up in the 60's during the "60's Brit Invasion", so I was exposed to that early on. "The Searchers" were a big part of that and i've always loved their version of "Love Potion Number 9". This version from the "Tygers of Pan Tang" (featuring Mr. Sykes) absolutely does it justice and is one of my favourites. On a side note, check out how Hardcore the "Searchers" guitars are.
  5. I've never really watched "OZ", I've just seen a few clips here and there on youtube. This one popped up in my recommendations. I didn't know he appeared on the show. The way he dies is kind of ironic. It may have been "Beth" inspired. After hearing that track, I'm sure there were plenty of KISS fans that wanted to stab him in the throat.
  6. ? That one's over my head mate.
  7. This one's more Luciferian than Satanic.
  8. Mate, I'm thinking of hopping in a dinghy and entering the US illegally. I could use a few hundred grand.
  9. Yeah, love ABBA. Most Aussies do. We absolutely embraced them in the Seventies and they make up a lot of my earliest musical memories. When they were in Melbourne in '77, they stayed at the Old Melbourne hotel. My Uncle was working there at the time and he got myself and my cousin autographed singles of "Knowing Me, Knowing You". He also let my Mum know when they were leaving. I'll never forget being in the hotel reception, just my Mum, my Aunt and myself. We were the only ones there when they came down to get in their limo. They stopped, we got more autographs and I, being 4 years old, actually got a kiss on the cheek from Agnetha! I'm very proud of that claim to fame. Forget earliest musical memories, the "Mamma Mia" video was mesmerizing at that age for other reasons.
  10. Cody has turned to the Darkside and become a Synthwave fan? "Say it ain't so Joe, say it ain't so," (historic Baseball reference). Do you know what the hardest thing about being a Synthwave fan is?
  11. The Robert Cray Band. I haven't followed his output since the "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" album in '88 (I should), but back in the day I loved these two albums. This shit is as smooth as silk.
  12. I hate being negative, but... "The Sex Pistols" "The Clash" "The Ramones" I'd actually pay to not see these bands. Not much chance of seeing any of these guys live so perhaps in these cases, an almost identical tribute band. Also, although he's not a band, you could add "Iggy Pop" to the list.
  13. Speaking of Alice Cooper, he used to host a weekly Satellite radio show. I don't know if he still does, but every Halloween he would play this AC/DC track. Killer track and one of my favourites of theirs. Listen at the very end for Bon Scott to say "Shazbot" and "Nanu Nanu" as a shout out to Mork & Mindy. He loved the show apparently.
  14. I always thought "Warrant" was a great name.
  15. Tell It To My Heart. I've always loved the original and it's choc full of 80s memories. This version from the new "Supernova Plasmajets" album is great.
  16. Yeah, fair enough. I guess regardless of how we dissect it, it's just a tragic accident all round.
  17. Firstly, let me be clear by saying that I feel for Alec Baldwin and ultimately I think full blame lies with the "experts" in charge of the firearms on set. I think Baldwin felt, as we all would, that the "experts" were doing their job. Having said that, playing Devil's advocate and using an analogy with is completely different, but maybe not so different, I could use the example of driving with a trailer or tied down load. If I was involved in an incident with the car I was driving, involving an unhooked trailer or something falling off my roof rack. I'd be fucked. I couldn't use the defense that someone else hooked/loaded it up. It's my responsibility as the driver to ensure it's all safe before I hit the road. Again though, I don't envy how Alec Baldwin would be feeling right know. Whether he's considered guilty of anything in the Courts or in the Court of public opinion, he's still gotta live with this shit.
  18. Stevie Nicks. Here's three of many from a certified Hot Rock Chick in my book. Always loved "I Can't Wait". On a side note, I don't condone this sort of thing of course, but I'll always remember that around the time that "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" was popular, there was a joke going around that Tom Petty and Lindy Chamberlain had a new song called "Stop Draggin' My Baby Around". Massive, if albeit tasteless Aussie reference. Too soon?
  19. Just wanted to bump this thread containing the four tracks from the "Fire" 4 track demo EP from '87. Quality stuff!
  20. Yep, I thought of that as soon as I saw the album title. Killer track!, I'll also be looking forward to this new version. Shout out to Cody for making me aware of the beyond Killer "Fire" demo from '87.
