  1. I don't dislike it at all... but it's kinda forgettable. The type of CD I buy, listen to a bunch of times one weekend, then never again.
  2. yep. A musical and live force in the 80s. Their gig at Hammy Odeon London on SWW tour still resides in my top 10 gigs ever. Purely awesome. 5th row centre as well. Saw them open for RATT in either 1984 or 1985, then twice for SWW in 1987 and twice for NJ in 1989. Every single show was awesome! Now-a-days I wouldn't go to a Bon Jovi gig without Richie if I had free front-row seats.
  3. I just spent the past 75 minutes listening to the New Year's Eve show at Tokyo Dome 1988. What an absolutely awesome band they were once upon a time.
  4. One of my favorite bands during my high school years in the 80's, and they have been nothing short of fabulous every single time I've seen them live. That said, this first track is certainly better than anything from the god-awful Made In California CD, but it's still missing something. Good, not great. I probably will not buy the new CD. I will absolutely buy tickets to see them live if they're back my way again this summer.
  5. Yes, yes, yes, this is how I like my melodic rock! Sounds like Stevie brought a bit of his time in Def Leppard with him. Tasty guitar licks and vocals all over the place.
  6. That new track on Melodicrock has a Judas Priest Turbo-era feel to it for me. Ordinarily I'd be down with that as I love Turbo, but that was 30 years ago...
  7. I caught "New Year's Eve" (the movie) the other day for the first time, and it was actually an enjoyable holiday season watch. However... Jon Bongiovi should really stick to singing and forget about acting as he was NOT good (not quite as horrific his role in U-571, but certainly not good). But the song he sang, (as a duet with the gal from Glee) was not bad at all. Much better, in fact, than almost anything I've heard on a Bon Jovi record the past decade plus (probably longer in my opinion).
  8. AWESOME!!! KISS was the first hard rock band I got into way back in 1978 in 4th. grade, and Ace was always my favorite. I cannot begin to express how much their music meant to me back in the day. VERY fond memories. Funny thing about this video... Gilby Clarke is just sitting in the background playing rhythm and it's quite possible (if not likely) that he's actually the best guitar player on that stage
  9. September 2017? The album has been written and demo'ed and all they have to do is studio record and the plan is that will take only 8 weeks beginning January 2017... Is Mutt Lange producing or something? Six months to master, manufacture and prepare for distribution (which will be what, 5,000 copies)? Seems like a long time to me. Anyway, their debut is great, but that was a long time ago. Hoping for the best.
  10. I purchased my copy from the band's site. Love Lies Dying sounds great. The entire album is a bit more "subdued" than the 1986 release, but tastefully done and a bit more "mature" I suppose.
  11. Y'all know how oldschool I am (I don't hide it), and I'm normally firmly planted in your camp concerning the re-recording of classical songs, Glen, but something about this one I like a lot. Like I mentioned above... I'm listening to this one as a 48 year-old, and not an 18 year-old. It just seems to "fit" with me now.
  12. The last Toby Hitchcock solo album was good. I like POL, so we'll see.
  13. I view the majority of today's Bon Jovi fans the same way I view most Boston Red Sox fans. Johnny-Come-Lately's who: 1) Think "Tokyo Road" is obviously somewhere in Japan. 2) Think "Jim Rice" is a menu item at PF Chang's.
  14. Received my copy yesterday. It's REALLY GOOD! The re-corded tracks are perhaps a half-step lower in the vocal department, but overall a nice redux.
  15. Don't worry, mate, if those songs are what he inflicts onto his friends I would absolutely fucking hate to be an enemy. They are possibly the worst songs I have heard in 2016. Just dreadful. Did you not hear those Bon Jovi tracks?
  16. That's unfortunate. I was hoping this might get parlayed into a Triumph reunion.
  17. Absolutely! I went to both shows here in Portland, Oregon June 1987. Could not have been a better time in my life.
  18. Yeah, because they now share the same target audience. What a crying ******* shame! Must be extra tough for you having ''grown up'' with them. I mean I was born in 1988 so I've only known the band for a couple of years I go back to the classics and that's it Extra tough is an understatement, my friend. I saw Bon Jovi open for Ratt in 1985 on their 7800 Tour after already having been a fan with "Runaway" and "She Don't Know Me" being in constant rotation on MTV the summer before. When Slippery was released... Dude, you really had to be there to fully appreciate just how big that band and that album were starting in the winter of 1986 through 1987 (and beyond). BJ were like the Beatles of my generation back then, and I was one of their biggest fans. Seeing (and hearing) what they've become over the past 20 years is completely disheartening. Thankfully I still have those first five albums whenever I need to scratch the BJ itch.
  19. Yeah, because they now share the same target audience. What a crying ******* shame!
  20. I've always enjoyed Kimball. Toto's TURN BACK is absolutely ESSENTIAL.
  21. You know what, a supplemental download or web-posting type of thing for the aforementioned information would suffice nicely. I understand a 30 page booklet would be costly... I just want the history!
  22. It's okay, but nothing special for me. I was 23 years-old when the Hardline debut CD (cassette tape for me at the time) was released. I remember it as though it were yesterday and absolutely LOVED it! But you know what? I'm not 23 years-old any longer. Maybe it's not the music's fault... perhaps it's me? The older I get, the more I've learning to accept and take responsibility for my actions. When I was young NOTHING was my fault... or so I thought. The new Hardline might be awesome... just not awesome for me at this point in my life.
