  1. Better than every song on their last two albums, in my opinion. If the entire album sounds like this track, I might pony-up and buy it.
  2. Cool track. Lyrics are a bit vanilla, but Poley's voice always reminds me of the good ol' days.
  3. The only positive thing I can say about this endeavor is that the photo-shoot is cool. Kind of Motley Shout-era meets Alcatrazz for a 1984 Mad Max Soundtrack MTV video. Not a fan of this band at all.
  4. You still have an HMV? Where you at? Winnipeg. No more music at Best Buy here. Other than HMV, I believe there is only one solitary retail store specializing in music here. Otherwise your only option is Walmart. Yeah, my Best Buy removed its music department. HMV's been gone a minute now. Nostalgia trip... I like it, so shut up There was a time when I was in junior high and high school in the 80's when I could buy cassette tapes at almost any and every store in town. I specifically remember buying SCORPIONS - VIRGIN KILLER at Sears (yep, Sears), and I bought DEF LEPPARD - ON THROUGH THE NIGHT at Montgomery Wards (that's weirder than Sears, even) and almost everything else in my collection from the local all-in-one Fred Meyer. Hell, there were two music stores in every local mall (Musicland), all of the variety stores had decent music sections (Payless Drug Store, Hi-School Pharmacy, K-Mart), there were a bunch of cool stand-alone record stores that always had in-store signings (For What It's Worth Record and Tapes and of course Tower Records) etc., etc., etc. Getting hold of physical music in the 1980's was like shooting fish in a barrel. Now I'm down to either Target (for popular artist new stuff), or a couple of local used shops for oldies (and thank God for them). Am I the only one who thinks the good old days get better with each passing day?
  5. Well, kinda hard to replace Schon and Castronovo... and let's not forget the lesser known Gioelli brother and Portland, Oregon's own Todd Jensen... they were REALLY good!
  6. Hell yeah I'll be all over this one. Awesome dialogue by Ted. Had me at Hello Every single time I hear something about Ted Poley or Danger Danger I remember just how awesome D2's debut album was and is. Save for Slippery and Hysteria, that one probably got more play by me than any other back in the day. LOTS of really great memories!
  7. Turner rarely disappoints, and I'm guessing at least one of the first tracks released will completely suck me in and off to NEH I'll go. I'll loved the first two Sunstorm releases, but grew tired of the last one fairly quickly... Hoping for the best with this one.
  8. I saw them (Skid Row) open for Bon Jovi the summer of 1989 and was completely blown-away. Those first two albums are solid gold and had they stopped right there the Skids would have Beatles status in the hard rock world.
  9. I've been a rocker my whole life. I was introduced to KISS in 1978 at age 10... my first live show was Iron Maiden and Scorpions at age 14... But I'll be damned if I don't love me some Simon LaBon and Duran Duran
  10. It's good... not nearly as heart-pounding as ROAR, for instance, but Coup is gonna be nearly impossible to top so that's probably not a fair comparison. Treat still using the B and high E strings way-up the necks on their guitars, thank God! Kills me to hear those tuned-down guitars most bands play now-a-days. That's what the bass player is for
  11. I liked the majority of KISS OF LIFE quite a bit... then it went downhill for me from there. I think I'm just too old-school for the majority of these "new" bands. Best of luck to these guys and their new release.
  12. Yes So, why then is this not considered the first official release on CD? Is the back of your disc blue with Zerox artwork?
  13. I've grown a bit tired of JSS the past decade, but vocals from the snippet above aren't horrible. I like Overland's and Chalfant's tracks MUCH better, however.
  14. Another missed opportunity due to inflated egos and or the inability to let by-gone's be by-gone's. Nobody gives a shit about Skid Row sans Bach, and nobody gives a shit about Bach sans Skid Row. Thankfully we will always have the band's first two CD's to revisit whenever we so desire.
  15. Count me out despite Mick's involvement. Guitars sound like they're missing the G, B and High E strings. Harkens back to much the mid-90's shit I hated so much.
  16. Side bar... That very same day Bon Jovi's - Keep The Faith was released. I was a HUGE BJ fan at the time having worn out multiple copies of Slippery and New Jersey on cassette tape. Anyway, I HATED Faith when I first heard it. I was expecting more 7800 and less Blaze Of Glory, but I received more of the later, and even more of something totally new. By Thanksgiving it was my favorite CD in my collection and I was spinning the hell out of it every single day. Heck, I still play that one front-to-back more than any other BJ titles in my collection. It really is a great record. Side bar number two... earlier in the very same day I received in my mailbox my first Columbia House / CRC Club package. It was buy (1) and receive (12) CD's absolutely free. I forget the entirety of my first order, but I specifically remember Pretty Boy Floyd L.B.W.E.T. being one of thirteen as I'd been a huge PBF fan since the release of Leather Boys a few years earlier. I think there were a few Zeppelin titles in there and a Def Leppard and ZZ Top title as well. Incredibly fun day... right up and until Clinton was declared the winner
  17. No brainer for me! I've been a DSS fan since discovering their debut CD in a cut-out bin back in November 1992 (I remember it specifically because it was election day here in the States). I purchased the Electric Angels debut from the very same cut-out bin that very same evening. 23+ years later I still pull both off the shelves now and again and they always put a smile on my face.
  18. Yep, released through her website. The disc was pressed in Canada with catalog number MMF-41254-00
  19. Shit, that sounds just like a Bon Jovi quote me.
  20. I hate to be Debbie Downer as I love me some Treat, but this has SUCK written all over it... “This is where we are today. As a band, as musicians, songwriters and individuals. It’s a statement: this is us in 2016”, says main songwriter and guitarist Anders Wikström.
  21. A bit surprised these guys haven't been mentioned here at least once before... although I must admit prior to seeing them open for Motley New Year's Eve I had no idea who they were, either. Anyway, if you're a fan of Queen and or other 70's British glam bands, they might turn you on a bit. Check out these two tracks to start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SRNNQLDUPc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARhk9K_mviE
  22. DANGEROUS certainly harkens back to old-school Leppard... and I like it! I don't think I've seen Phil playing a Les Paul styled guitar since he was in Girl.
  23. Oh my Dear Lord! Well, the good news is I didn't have high expectation for Coup and it turned out to be brilliant, so let's just hope the new one has a really shitty album title but is filled with great tunes.
