  1. All the songs released so far have been great, but the opening track 'Glorious' is just that ..a complete ear worm you'll be humming for days and a brilliant start to a brilliant album. No bad tracks to be seen and consistently excellent throughout. That's 3 out of 3 superb albums and a band at the forefront of the genre by far
  2. This is surprisingly a really good album and the best one they have done for ages. There's a couple of fillers, but it gets off to a really good start with the excellent 'Out Of The Dark' and 'High N Dry'. ''Forevermore' is an ok song and gets better with repeated listens and I also like the Gary Moore style instrumental track '79' too. This is a nice surprise in general, as whilst I quite liked the last album, I didn't think they would ever release a really good one again...and they have

  5. Absolutely no surprise whatsoever after what he has gone through health wise, especially over the last few years. A real shame he couldn't do one last big tour to end on, especially as his 'Patient Number 9' album is his strongest album in years. Fair play to the guy and a big salute to him for what he has done for the scene over all these years. The word 'Legend' is a word used to often in some cases , but very applicable here I think.
  6. This seems to be getting very positive reviews pretty much everywhere you look and I have to tend to agree wholeheartedly. It won't be for everyone's taste, but if you like very melancholic, dark yet melodic and accessible prog/metal, this is highly recommended from me
  7. Such a great album.. many good and sad memories will always stay with me listening to ‘Ghostlight’
  8. Riverside's 8th album just released. Some definite curve balls thrown into the mix with the 80's synths, but also some of their signature modern prog sounds as well. A great, eclectic mix of modern, NEO and traditional progressive music and a belter of an album, with 'Friend Or Foe?' being a definite highlight
  9. Rock solid album with some great songs.
  10. Just settling down to listen to this right now. A band that rarely disappoints
  11. This is a bit Lordi by numbers, but I quite like it. As mentioned, the new guitar player Kone sounds great,so really looking forward (as always) to a new album by them.

  20. After their last album 'Looking For You' which had a definite Abba influence, it came as no surprise that they would do a ABBA covers album, and they have pulled it off really well. Highly enjoyable, without straying too far from the originals either.
  21. Loved the Final Frontiers stuff and his first solo album, but he's sort of fallen of my radar on recent album, so I decided to have a bit of a backtrack , starting with this new one. It really is a very decent album throughout, although ass Geoff says, absolutely no re-invention whatsoever, but it is done really well. I don't mind his voice at all, but can see why some might not get on with it. Thumbs up from me
  22. They were great last night. No support, 2 x1 hour sets trying out their theatre style setlist. Lots of 'Kickstart' stuff and all the classics.....Enjoy tonight
