  1. With Wasp you need to check out the debut album if you're a hard rock fan. If you like metal then the Headless Children is a great blend of hard rock and metal. The Crimson Idol is a bit long and serious and way too many ballads but still pretty good but I don't think it's a good introduction to the band unless you're a patient listener. As nightrain says Still Not Black Enough is worth a go. It's like a more accessible version of Crimson idol, shorter songs, less ballads, no story but same vibe. If you like drums Frankie Banali owns on Headless, Crimson and Black Enough. Chris Holmes, Blackie and Johnny Rod tear up the guitars and bass on Headless also.
  2. Yeah, love demons down. The first 3 are a real treat.
  3. These 3 songs are OK. I'll check their album out when it's released.
  4. I love foreign language discs, couldn't care less if I understand the lyrics or not. For me the vocals are another instrument to be enjoyed. That's how I look at it. It's not annoying. A crap singer is a crap singer as is a good or great one - the language they sing in is irrelevant. In fact some languages sound amazing for some of the music I like eg. Spanish for power metal.
  5. Cover is cool. Pretty sure they'd have a rising damp issue tho!
  6. Not that I'm the right person to comment as I've not been interested in anything skid row since slave to the grind but I have concerns about fit. That said I am extremely interested to hear him sing the older songs as he is undoubtedly a great singer.
  7. You need to check out angra. Not sure why you would have an issue with andre matos' voice if you're a mustaine fanboy Perhaps check out the album rebirth which had their second singer. If you don't like it... then you're taste in music socks Jokes aside, he's a great guitar player!
  8. Is this news for real? What does this mean for Angra? Does this mean I should be excited about Megadeth coz I haven't paid them much attention since Countdown to Extinction!

    Suzy Suicide by Spread Eagle?
  10. As there's like 16 people in the band perhaps this was treated in a business light ie. write a couple of albums worth of material and record it all at the same time? It's expensive to get everyone together etc. Will be checking the credits of this and the last one The debut and name of the rose were released shortly after one another right?
  11. Nope disagree completely. Put it on 2 days ago in the car, blasted it as loud as I could and pretended I had a mane of hair flapping out the window like the old days.... when I had long hair..... when I had hair.... Hmm anyway, shotgun messiah s/t made me forget about all that. Love it!
  12. Yeah, what Geoff said. That shotgun Messiah album is a classic. Cmon Nightrain, charge that hearing aid!
  13. Maybe u haven't been listening?
  14. Wow, there's a pack of cds that bring back some memories!
  15. I can't believe you rated blue murder that low! Aaaarrrgghhhhh
  16. All great names. Well done and congrats. My eldest Jacob just started school this year and has a few elements in his class - Rayne & Store. He also has a few that end in O like Orlando & Leonardo. So hard to pick names, especially for boys. My twins are Erik & Ava. I really like Oscar and Taylor.. for a boy!
  17. Is the burbs the one that has one of the core's blasting some circus of power?
  18. I don't think anyone, especially the current music moguls give a rats ass about axl and guns n rose's. Chinese democracy lost a crap load of money and believing axl is an awesome business man by leaking songs to get feedback just goes to show how insecure and shit he is. If labels show interest in a new album it will be to get the rights to appetite and use your illusion because they believe they will be popular due to some tie in eg. Lead song from a movie or something.
  19. Lol, I guess if you're rating things out if 10 or whatever you need to have a reference point. What is the perfect song? I guess that means for you nightrain you need a reference song for a rocker, ballad, power ballad, epic song, acoustic song.. Etc. And then one for each genre hard rock, AOR, Sleaze, melodic metal, power metal etc. Lastly, make sure you have one for each 5 year period to make sure your comparing apples to apples. Got it? Then you better revisit all of your reviews with your reference point all sorted out!
  20. That's pretty low for spread eagle, probably what I would score it but I would struggle to score my favourite cds more than 90, am just more harsh! Skid Row debut was so slick and well produced. I guess calling it a poor man's version is right but that's what makes it better. It's edgy, aggressive and dangerous... Skid row wanted to be
  21. Love icy and ready. Used to love the ballad but over the years it's lost something and really drags on now.
