  1. After everything I still love Australia and living in Melbourne. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world. As fucked as everything is right now throughout the entire world there is no blueprint on how to deal with Covid. Just like in years to come there'll be no blueprint on how to deal with the financial, economic and mental health issues. Name 1 country that's handled it well and kept the majority of their population happy?
  2. Apparently he's got Nevermind tattooed across his chest. He also happens to be an 'artist' and has retaken that cover shot lots of times to celebrate the anniversary of the album's release. Definitely a cash grab. What a tool!
  3. Terrible news. I'm not a doom fan, not even a trouble fan but fuck me that Manic Frustration album is one of my favourites of all time. RIP
  4. It's all been downhill since Strange Case. Not sure about this one.
  5. The problem has never been writing new music, it's always been about recording it, touring (TSO) and priorities. I love the band but fear we may never really get much more out of either TSO or Savatage/Oliva. I really hope we get Romanovs purely because this was written when TSO was still primarily Savatage so hoping for a darker and more metal edge. I loved Xmas Eve and Other Stories but Beethoven's Last Night easily beats all TSO releases. For me they became so safe that it got boring and repetitive and I never listen to their other albums anymore. As for Sava we'll see. Finding and getting a decent label and $$ in this day and age ☹️. The commercial reality of releasing a Sava metal album over a TSO one etc.
  6. Love me some heavier sleaze like Spread Eagle but find this genre can be very hit or miss... Like Hardcore Superstar. What about the band Confess?
  7. I still buy cds but digitised most of my collection 10-15 years ago purely for the convenience. I like to physically own my things, same with video games. If I had money I would probably start a vinyl collection but it's just not going to happen. Digital music is here to stay. For me personally it's a throwaway file that has, it's going to sound weird, no real connection to the artist. I use digital music for its convenience and to sample music, then buy the cd if I like it. Some bands and albums I'll deliberately not listen and just order it.. there's nothing quite like the excitement of hearing a new album untainted except maybe the debut single. I also find you can get into just brushing aside new digital music because you haven't invested in it. It was the same during Napster, Kazaar etc. It was awesome coz you could finally get a chance to listen to something you couldn't previously get a hold off but listening to 5-10 new albums a day quickly became tiresome.
  8. They've never gotten close to Return To Heaven Denied - amazing speed metal album. Lots of chatter around this one being just as good and back to that vibe. Unfortunately that's been said before a few times though. Any Labyrinth fans checked this new one out. Is it any good?
  9. Headless Children is one of my favourite albums of all time. Blackie has released some monster albums over the years - shame the whole gimmick puts lots of people off and as a result they don't give the music a chance.
  10. I'm pretty late to the party with Karlsson so was excited when I saw the title. He has a heap of great albums, if not a bit samey but always does a good job bringing out the best of the vocalists he chooses. Hmmm, looking at the vocalist list on this one am not too excited given it looks to be all female vocalists?
  11. One of my favourite bands. If you don't like the earlier more metal stuff with Jon on vocals you can always go with the more theatrical stuff with Zakk. There is something here for everyone but it is a lot of music to digest or pick from if you are new to them. Personally I love Hall of the Mountain King, Gutter Ballet and Edge of Thorns the most.
  12. Great singer who has also lasted the test of time!
  13. Awesome album. Could have used a better production and skipped the Jovi Dance song....terrible.
  14. Mighty Jungle is one of my favourite releases last year. No love here 😞
  15. Love it... Great band even though the last album was their worst. Excited for an new album.
  16. Sad news. Loved a lot of his work, especially with WASP 😞
  17. If they could do either of those of I'd be in but I doubt this will be in withers league!
  18. Love me some Urban Breed. This band continues to deliver.
  19. I'm going to check it out, haven't heard some VP is ages. Speaking of which Vanishing Point is finishing up a new album...
