  1. Some people say that was staged, but it's pretty funny nonetheless.
  2. Probably the best use that emoticon will ever have!
  3. I get mad everytime I watch the series or the movie. how could they kill off this show??????? it was so amazing Let us not discuss it's awesomeness in the past tense. It still is amazing, and always will be amazing.
  4. I don't think it's WOW itself that's addictive, just the whole MMO genre. The games require one to invest a lot of time to make any sort of significant progress. WOW is not only the most popular of these types of games, but also the most popular game--period. Though it is truly sad what has become of many WOW gamers, there are also a lot of funny videos on the web that are related to World of Warcraft. Personally, I'll never go near the game, or MMO's in general, 'cause I don't feel like spending the required time and effort.
  5. What is it like? I saw that Moby is one of her composers. It is strange not having Laurent Boutonatt around in the writing this time, as he has been heavily involved with every album and you can certainly tell, although not necessarily in a bad way. Bottom line - if you are a fan, you should like it as it is Mylène with a slightly different twist in places. She is one of my guilty pleasures musically and I know absolutely nothing to do with HH in general, so nice to see someone else interested here. Never heard of her, but, as someone who'll give just about any artist a listen, I'll check her out. Any suggestions of where to start? She is a French/Canadian artist - Quite mainstream stuff, covering some rock, pop and some lovely ballads aswell - all sung in French. Don't know she'll be you're thing to be honest, but try 'L'Autre' and 'Anomorphosee' which I would say are her best 2. Her live DVD's are absolutely amazing aswell. As a Canadian, I find it quite saddening that I've never heard of her, but I'm sure it has to do with her singing in French. It's extremely uncommon to hear francophone artists on the radio, at least in the west. I have found one station that plays a lot of indie Canadian artists, and there is a lot of great music coming out of Quebec! For the first time in my 23 years on this rock, I'm starting to find an appreciation for the French language. Thank-you Jez for the recommendations. I'll let you know my impression, once I have one. She is absolutely massive in France and has been for the last 20+ years. I think she was only born in Canada and moved at an early age, so that is why she probably has never been a houshold name over there. I'm sure there are loads more French artists that don't mean anything to anyone outside of France. Check out Jean-Jacques Goldman if you get a chance. Maybe a bit more rock for your tastes, with some great albums. I don't know where you're getting the idea that I might be so narrow-minded. I youtubed a bunch of her singles, and I think her later releases suit my preferences best. I'm more into electropop than electronic rock. As I've only just acquainted myself with her now, the departure of Laurent Boutonnat doesn't mean much to me, but, with Mylene continuing in the electropop direction, it makes sense to bring in the likes of Moby and RedOne. I like her new single, "Oui Mais... Non." I also noticed Mylene Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat wrote and produced Alizee's first two albums, and I can definitely see the influence.
  6. Serenity I cry every time I watch it. Not because the movie itself is sad, but the politics surrounding Serenity/Firefly. I'm crying just thinking about it.
  7. I care. Perhaps an event should occur that prevents her from ever leaving Australia. Ever! That would be amazing, and, therefore, I care.

  9. Explain. No need. Everyone know Matt's a bit No, I wanna know if he drove 36 km only to realize he wasn't wearing pants, or did he drive home and is now lounging in his knickers? Rode, dude. The dude's a prince on the mountain bike. He rides around nude as I understand it, but covers up with underpants when he gets home. There is nothing to explain. Im now at work. Wearing pants. Life now sucks. Well, get naked and spice it up! Honestly, I don't understand how such a notion escapes you.
  10. I sure hope they come to Vancouver. I'm assuming they will, but you never know.
  11. I was about ready to kick you in the balls, then I noticed the latter half. Good on ya.

  14. Great interview Pete...that whole thing about the "shocker" had me rolling! Awesome hearing that new track - LOVE it!!! Hey hey, spoiler alert! I haven't heard it, yet.
  15. I wish someone would reissue Fingerprints. I second this request ! Is it really that good? West of Sunset is amazing, so if Fingerprints was better, than I wanna hear it! However, I'm not about to pay what people are asking for it.
  16. What you and I may define as 'rewarding' could prove to be very different.
  17. There have been many comments of confusion with regards to the music I have listed in my collection. Some had wrote it off as crap, others outright hated it, and one rookie member even had the audacity to suggest it was an "odd mix of CDs." I am not, was not, nor will I ever be angered by the apparent display of prejudice, however, as I believe ignorance is to blame. So, when I came to this conclusion, I decided I must educate the lot of you, and allow you to make an informed decision. So, every week, or whenever I feel like it--definitely the latter over the former--I'll post an artist from my collection that doesn't fit the description of the music generally discussed here, and is not very well known outside the world of said music. MuteMath It didn't take long for me to decide that MuteMath would be my first entry. When their self-titled debut dropped in September of 2006, I quickly realized, and professed, that it was the most important album of the year. I didn't quite know what that meant, and, quite frankly, still don't know what that means, but it was obvious this album--this band--would have an important part to play in my musical influence. Although my obsession with MuteMath really took form in 2006, I suppose it's beginnings could be traced nearly exactly one year prior. In September of 2005, they had released the "Reset EP." My dad and I were browsing through a local music store, when we first heard the sound of the then-unknown-and-let-us-be-honest-probably-still-not-that-well-known quartet. My dad, being a fan of progressive rock, made an inquiry with the nearest employee, and promptly bought the EP. I did not--something I've regret for five years now, as it's hard to track down at a reasonable price. MuteMath's second full-length album, "Armistice," was released in August of 2009, and with it came a lot of dissapointment from "devoted" fans. Many people claimed it was too great a departure from the sound of the debut. As one who knows better, those people can all go eat a sack of dicks, because "Armistice," though, admittedly, a bit different, was nothing short of another masterpiece. MuteMath had not lost form, but, most importantly, they had not lost who they were: a high energy, thought provoking, electro-alternative-experimental-psychedelic-rock group. I just call that progressive rock. Here's their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/mutemath Here are a few of my personal faves: From the "Reset EP": Progress - Peculiar People - From "MuteMath": Typical - Picture - Reset - (live version, if you're gonna watch a live clip of them this is it!)From "Armistice": Backfire - Goodbye - Electrify - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg3YcDuaC5M Armistice -
  18. Damn, you guys are hilarious. I'm actually looking forward to such times.
  19. I don't know of any forums, but I would suggest finding an internet radio station dedicated to blues/blues rock and the like. Joe Bonamassa is amazing, also check out Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Wayne Shepherd (kind of a Stevie clone), Walter Trout... wow, I'm just realizing I could go on forever. It's like the music we discuss. There's a shit-ton of it, and you could search and find a bunch of artists and only have scratched the surface. With that said, I'm going to reiterate the notion to find a station you like. A buddy of mine recommended one to me, and apparently it's all he listens to at work. I'll be honest that I only just checked it out now, because you reminded me of it. I like being in control of what I listen to, so I don't normally listen to radio. Anyway, here's the link: http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Blues My buddy likes the first one, but, as you can see, there are many to choose from. I know this doesn't fully answer your question, but I hope it helps, nevertheless.
  20. Wow. I'm sure not even his wife has ever said that. To answer the question: no, I have never thrown my phone. I have a very high tolerance and self-restraint, even when dealing with the worst people.
  21. Heh heh. Oh, Bernd. I take it you celebrated your birthday well?
  22. I'm gonna suggest not you. But, really, it's so easy for us to get off-topic that it never surprises me.
  23. There's dozens of on-line shops selling these things. They're probably making a shit load of cash from it as well. Id rather throw my money at ugly people.. I do... throw money at ugly people. It's actually quite liberating.
