Well, I never got it the first time, so maybe I shouldn't let this pass me by again.
-
Oh, boy! This is good news.
-
Another band whose sound I love until the vocalist opens his mouth.
-
Noooope. That album was bland as hell.

The titles look promising. Truu. Those are very original titles.

Exactly. Prolly needs close to 100,000 streams. He has 60-65 songs ( 4 full lengths, a couple of demos and appearances in various tributes) on spotify, with 2000 streams each on average. So 120X10^3 streams. And my concern isn't about the total sum, but their ethics and business practices. Btw, I wasn't aware of the fact that you had to generate an X number of streams in order to receive payment. Thanks, for the info. I 'd hate it if I had moral issues with them, because I'm huge proponent of their business model (solely based on the assumption that they pay their artists a share -the amount of which is irrelevant to my concern). Isn't there a post within this thread that explains how it works?

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is my all-time favourite film, and his performance in Young Frankenstein is unmatched. It's a sad day, but at least he doesn't have to suffer anymore.
-
He's old. Old equates to unfunny? Or no sense to do good movies? No, but maybe he feel his time has passed. His style of humour isn't as popular as it was 10-15 years ago. Ironically, I still think his best film was Stranger than Fiction.

He's old.

Yes, with this energy.

Love that song. So good!
-
Oh. I would have thought the first album would be most appealing for Synthpop fans.

First one was nice how was this? It is on my short list. I heard it wasn't any good, but I'll take a second opinion.

Your WORST Concert/Most Disappointing Live Band
KarpetRydOFunk replied to Gibbo's topic in Concerts and Tours
I think I'm experiencing my worst show right now. I'm in Mexico, Playa del Carmen, and this resort has themed shows every night. Tonight is "On the Rock." It's essentially one big medley. Guys, it's so bad it's hilarious! The guitarist is butchering every solo. And these singers can't even hold a candle to the likes of Steve Perry, Freddy Mercury, Joey Tempest etc. So funny. -
I find out about some of these bands by stumbling across them on the net utube etc. As AOR is my forte my knowledge on modern/alt stuff is limited but i have a mate who is all over this genre and he gives me the heads up on stuff he thinks i'll like. It's always good to have friends like that. Let them do all the hard work. I have a friend like that for Hip Hop. ;} You sure he's a friend? If I had a friend giving me a heads up on hip hop releases he thinks I'd like, I'd mash his face into the next potato salad I made. You don't have a lot of friends, do you?

Really want this one to be good.

Just for a While (this is easily the song I like the least, and the only one I might skip) Lost (I love that they always close with a melancholy track, and this one does not disappoint) Overall, the album is too short, especially when you factor in that almost half of these tunes we've been listening to for years already.
-
The latest album, Lost, dropped a few months ago, but it took me a while to get it. It's definitely the weakest of the three albums, but it still has some great tracks. Dollar (love this tune!) Triggerfinger (we all know this one by now) Crazy Something Normal (the other single from years and years ago) Smooth Lover (I love the Trop House vibe in this one) Look Inside Rocket Gave the Sky to Her Downtown Hero

Synthpop bands........saw it mentioned in another thread...
KarpetRydOFunk replied to JLPRocks's topic in Other Music Styles
I didn't actually listen to any of your samples until now. Those are pretty truu to the Synthpop sound of the 80s. In that case, you should start with Donkeyboy. You'll love these guys. -
It's a little annoying that it's off centre.
-
Lately it's usually something from The Midnight, which doesn't fit either genre. ;}

I'm all about this tune, lately. Muna - Loudspeaker
