That's rough, bud. Get well. I'm glad you got a chance to see it early, though.

Oh, wow. What a disappointment. Diemonds were the openers tonight. Apparently, Pigeon Park -- the band they are touring with -- are from Vancouver. I've never phukking heard of them. But they let them headline tonight, because of it. Which was nice of them, but that meant Diemonds were done before 9:00. Don't get me wrong, they were great -- Diemonds, not Pigeon Park -- but I wanted a longer set. It was too early to go home, so I just hung out with Priya, talked music, and made fun of Pigeon Park. Girl is fine as hell. ;}

'Bout to hit up this Diemonds show!!

The folks in the Melodic Mafia group on FaceTubes often talk about buying new Rock Candy releases in store. Most stores in my area stopped carrying CDs, and even when they did they never had anything from our genre, save AC/DC and Guns & Roses. -
One of the best. Pretty Boy, or Mariah, it's the same recording.

Most will say yes in regards to their debut, though I like it, but you really ought to check out their second album. And then ignore everything after.

Tokyo Motor Fist - Ted Poley & Steve Brown
KarpetRydOFunk replied to tts42572's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
Finally, a sample Won't be able to listen to it for another hour or so but will as soon as I get off work How is it compared to Defiants and Ted's last album? In terms of sound, heaviness? Very "Defiants-Like" IMO. I suppose some will say it's more "paint by numbers' Frontier's melodic rock but it's all good with me. Really though...I think this sounds like a cross between Danger Danger and Trixter which is I guess the way you'd expect it to sound. I'm just a sucker for this type of melodic rock with a big, slick sound, backing vocals, good guitar work, etc. I Damn, that's awesome! I think you're underselling it, bud. A cross between DD and Trixter makes sense, but I don't think it's very Defiants-like. It already sounds better. -

I think A Trick of the Tail might be my favourite. I dunno. It's difficult for me to rate them. They're one of my all-time favourite bands. Love all of their albums. -
Cool thread. Definitely makes you think.

Yeah, I was gonna say his maths was off. Again. ;}

I thought for sure Gorky Park might have been able to secure a Gold off the strength of "Bang." Didn't they tour US quite extensively in support of the debut?

Baltimore Rocks -- Blast From The Past

This is awesome! Who's fronting these guys? Sounds a lot like Michael Beck of Manila Thrills. I'll be very interested if you're able to procure more demos from En Force. So glad you brought this thread back. You rock, Russ. -

Some good shit there. Been listening to Genesis a fair bit lately, but not Selling England By the Pound. I'll have to rectify that. -
Now that the dust has nearly settled, i think i'm going with "Waitin' on a hearbreak - The Defiants". I would go with either "Runaway," or "When I'll Stop Loving You." From that album, anyway. But my favourite song of the year would prolly be from Treat.Which Treat song? Probably "Endangered," but some days I just really love "Inferno," or "Nonstop Madness," or even "I Don't Miss the Misery." Seriously, I don't understand those folk that say the album is underwhelming.

Tony Harnell back with TNT (Part 64)

Mhm. Does it even have to be said that I'm not at all interested? That doesn't surprise me. You aren't very bright. You're probably right. -
