  1. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/05/24/singer-tina-turner-dies-illness/ Singer Tina Turner has died at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, her spokesman has said. Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, USA. She became famous in the late 60s as the singer of the band Ike & Tina Turner Revue, but later she became successful worldwide as a solo artist. With her music and her inexhaustible vitality, Tina Turner thrilled millions of fans and inspired many artists of subsequent generations. Global hits like "What's Love Got To Do With it", "Private Dancer" and "The Best", more than 180 million albums sold, 12 Grammy Awards and over three decades of sold-out stadium tours around the world are just part of her unique legacy. Her spokesman said: "There will be a private funeral ceremony attended by close friends and family. Please respect the privacy of her family at this difficult time."
  2. Fan of Stryper and a fan of Tracii, but once again, lack of money and Sweet burn out means I ain't got that one either. Also, Sweet has a habit of annoying the piss out of me on social media.
  3. Yeah hate the word dated. Who gives a fuck about time as long as you enjoy something? Age is a cop out. You either like something or you don't.
  4. Its almost like we are not on a site dedicated to the 80s
  5. Finally got my copy after much fuckery by Amazon UK. Originally said it would arrive Tues (days after release) then it never shipped. Late Tuesday it shipped from France saying Friday delivery. Friday after moving to several places in France I got a message saying it had been delayed in transit. Saturday night it suddenly went from France to Belgium. Arrived in the UK in the evening, and shipped and delivered today. This CD is better travelled than me. Anyway, listening to the album and overall it sounds great. Nothing to set the world on fire for sure, but defo a million miles ahead of so called come backs from other bands *cough* Roxy Blue *cough*
  6. Been listening to this quite a few times since getting the EP yesterday and it suddenly dawned on me how he has changed the perspective of most of the lyrics. Instead of warning someone about the Phantom he is warning them about himself.
  7. I'm not really a fan of symphonic style metal/rock but I recently picked up Unforgiving (yeah bang up to date) on the strength of Faster, and absolutely loved it. Trying to work out whether its worth picking up more of their stuff. Weirdly, I actually saw them live back in 2012 (I think it was) supporting Halestorm and didn't even realise it til recently.
  8. I knew about the concept of the video a few weeks ago with the women replacing the band, but Rob told everyone who knew that we had to keep it quiet Hadn't heard the song though, and it's a belter.
