  1. I thought this was a great Shoot 'em Up flick. Kinda like a reverse "The Raid," or "Dredd." From that still, this looks like it might fall in the 1% where the film is better than the book ;-)
  2. yeah but the crowd will be full of old fossils (nearly as old as Bob) who will stand there (statue like) with folded arms throughout the whole of Vega and go mad when Magnum play. So Magnum will be just fine. In truth, Magnum gigs from back in day were absolutely awesome, especially in small venues.....but the last time I saw them was on Alice disc I think ....so like 9 years ago and Catley looked like something out of Lord Of The Rings then, so God only knows what he looks and sounds like now ;-)
  3. Perhaps you should search your own site ;-) At least 8 full tracks were posted in that thread. There was also a full showcase on melrock and its on Spotify which is free. Go check it out its a great album. They are excellent live too. Cheers It wasn't on Spotify at the time it was being discussed here. I know, because I looked for it on Spotify; it may have been added later. At the end of the day, we're not all going to hear all of the albums released each year. So if your favorite/essential disc didn't make someone's top 5 list, it's not the end of the world. It wasnt in my top 5 and i couldnt care less if it wasnt in yours either. I just noticed that you guys had obviously not heard it and offered a recommendation and means to hear it. That is all. Your loss if you dont track it down. Cheers Like I said in my post, I couldn't give a ballsack if it's in a 'also ran,' 'honourable mention' or in a top 5 list... that's the listener's choice. Don't care where it ends up on other people's lists, but to not even bother listening to it is like (within our sexy little genre) skipping something like 'Slippery when wet' in 1986. And yes Karpetnostrils, I did take about 40mins to make my post as I was typing and cross-referencing the lists as I read through them. I do sexy things like that because I'm dangerous. Slippery When Wet ?? Mate now you're being a bit silly. Its a very good melodic rock disc - made my honourable listing - but let's keep it sensible here ;-)

  6. PS was the first pressing 10 discs ;-)
  7. Homework required. Cats In Space - Dan's Number 4 if i recall correctly, Rock Report - 21st out of 100 in their end of year chart and generally very positive reviews just about everywhere else if you care to read a few on the net. A lot of people did notice it and liked it Lol. Rock reports 21st album means one person voted for it....was it you ;-) I'll amend my verdict. 3 people like it - you, Dan and Rob Evans. :-) You need to do some more home work ....Try reading the reviews including Powerplay magazine, Classic Rock, Fireworks, Melodic.net, also the excellent radio play on BBC Radio 2, Planet Rock etc..and all the others that bought it (and sold out the first pressing in less than 2 weeks with the 2nd pressing going the same way very shortly). You get the point...obviously that makes only 3 of us that like it...i'll say no more You do realise that winks mean im winding you up ;-)

  9. Just a few recent / big names to support my argument - Hunger Games - liked the films - books are way better Mazerunner - great film - book is way better Harry Potter - really like all the films - books are way better Game of Thrones - love the series - books are still better (excellent in fact....if he ever finishes them!) Star Wars series - excellent films, but the books are way more detailed and perhaps my biggest gripe of all time - Golden Compass - film was shite......books (The Dark Materials trilogy) are superb
  10. I felt the same. I prefer my Sci-Fi with more Fiction, and less Science, so some kind of creature would have been nice. I gave up on the book after 70 pages of growing potatoes Zzzzzz Didn't even know it was a book. This is why I don't read. Just because the book 'The Martian' is a turkey is no excuse not to read. I would say out of all the films I have ever seen in 99% of cases the book(s) is / are better.
  11. Very random, but true. Can't wait for the new one either. Absolutely love this band. agreed apart from Nick > Dio which is a ludicrous statement. RJD = probably the greatest rock vocalist in history
  12. So how did he die - all a bit of a mystery?? RIP in any case. I had the pleasure of seeing him on stage on more than one occasion............
  13. Interesting read as always. 2 things stick out - 1. Only one mention of 'Care of Night'.........did this fly under people's radar ? 2. Jez is about the only person who actually likes that 'Cats in Space' album ;-)

  18. Excellent news on DRN. Really interested to see what they come up with. They were brilliant at Firefest.
  19. Yeah like both songs....esp Collide :-)
  20. Yeah dont get me wrong im not expecting much aside from the starred albums. I suspect the latter year releases will be more in abundance....like Vega, Toby H, First Signal etc
  21. Forgot to add that to my disappointments of 2015. Aside from 2 goods tracks it was way average to me. And the swearing was just unnecessary.
  22. Fuck that motherfucking Santa fuckin Cruz
