  1. Was that an intentional slip by Stefan on the name for the Dynazty album. Im sure that will be just how it sounds
  2. Seven - s/t Overland - Epic WET - Rise Up Eclipse - Bleed & Scream Degreed - we dont belong Harry Hess - Livin in Yesterday
  3. Which do you rate as the weak songs? For me, 'Mystery' is delightful light AOR, 'Don't stop believin' is one of my favourite tracks, despite the inspiro lyrics, 'Hanoi Waters' is killer; arguably the 2nd best song on the album. And then 'Ammunition' is probably their finest lyrical outing to date, and a subtly beautiful tune. Another of my personal faves. For me, the only "weak" song on the entire CD is 'Wings of steel.' Just average AOR, but I think every other single song is excellent. Ammunition is clever lyrically but in the end its just pretty boring and very underwhelming to end the album. Needed a killer last track imo. Elsewhere wings of steel is pretty average and Waitin..... Lorraine was easily the best track...followed by Still in Love. Nothing is truly weak but then nothing really blew me away. Aside from the last track songs ranged from 7.5 to 9. Pleasant AOR. Pleasant live too.
  4. They definitely need an injection of pace.
  5. Sometimes all this 'is it better than this that or whatever' is a bit pointless really. And laying ratings on something less than a week after it was released is a bit overkill. The only thing for sure is that Erik is a best out there for writing albums in a singers style. Ive loved them all so far.
  6. For once a photoshoot actually makes a guy look better Songs not bad but very safe.
  7. Song is atrocious too Just shit.
  8. Pretty basic song but i'll check it out for sure as i really liked the debut.
  9. If you like this album, you will love 'Pandemonium' and 'Motherland' from Pretty Maids, no doubt. Yeah, and Martensson is is more consistent on the melodic song front, and has written a good album in this style... but I reckon I could pluck 30+ songs from Pretty Maids' discography that are better than any song on this album. For a start, try 'Live until it hurts,' 'Never too late,' 'Die with your dreams' and 'Love and a fiction,' all from their 'Spooked' album. Even the title track I'd prefer to most of Nordic Union. Nothing at all against Nordic Union and Martensson, but Ronnie Atkins and Pretty Maids are sure as hell no second rate act in this story. Ha ha you always pick those Maids songs and i always think really??? For sure they are decent songs but for me no where near Maids best songs. Now if you said 'Hell on High Hells', 'INVU', 'Partners In Crime' or 'Dont Settle For Less' id probably be inclined to back your argument. Of course in the whole Maids discography there are songs better than Nordic Union. But.... My God there are some killer songs on this album....'Hypocrisy', 21 Guns, Falling and Go are as good as any song youll hear this year i reckon. And theres another 2 or 3 not far behind i reckon.
  10. I wouldnt say dispise. Im not much of a fan tho. Good song.
  11. Yeah its a good song but personally i really dont like Rob Moratti very much.
  12. How hurt are you? Do you want to talk about it? It is what it is. Just think JSS would be better doing something more melodic. Im sure the new Soto will be ok and there will be a couple of killer songs, but its a waste eh??
  13. No way will there be more WET. Erik is too busy and Jeff is busy being all mean & pissed off
  14. Well they have 3 great albums and ive seen them live. I guess even if thats it you should be satisfied. Im sure theyll be back tho.
  15. No it doesnt make any sense at all Set me Free is great. The only one i dont like is the closing ballad. Great album apart from that.
  16. Very nice - https://youtu.be/Os32_oYAiF4
  17. I don't like the Stage Dolls very much. Even the s/t is overrated imo.....I rated it 79%. The end of the album is a bit weak which you cant do when the album is only 9 tracks.
  18. Well we only really need to look at the front site to know - • Chronologically, the site encompasses primarily the years 1978 to present, with the emphasis on the music of the 1980s and early 1990s, hence material from the 1960s and the early 1970s most likely will not be included (unless they are early works from bands who released material during the 1978- period). • Structurally, most of the material here follows the tried-and-true "singalong" structure of verse-chorus-verse-chorus-chorus (with minor deviations). What prog is included is that which only deviates only slightly from this; the more esoteric "out there" material most likely will not be included. On those grounds I would say most of early Genesis should not be included as it is way too far 'out there' When considering early Marillion lots of their songs had a fairly standard verse chorus type structure...you know songs like Market Sq Heroes, He Knows You Know, Jigsaw, Punch & Judy, Kayleigh, Lavender.....even large parts of Misplaced Childhood the sections comeback to a central like 'chorus'. Not sure you could say the same of Pink Floyd's The Wall.....although I would prefer to see the likes of Pink Floyd over Genesis. At the end of the day, like Geoff, I'm not really fussed about what gets included, but the front site seems to define it in any case. Cheers
  19. Wow, big comment....no replay value?? Really. I'm about 5 spins in and already thinking its up there with Armagedonnise.......and the last 2 Pretty Maids albums! Excellent album.
  20. I skipped through it once. What i heard sounded good (ballads aside...cringe) but none of the songs i hadnt heard didnt sound as good as the ones i already had heard....if that makes sense. Which always leave me kinda deflated. Looking forward to spinning it again though.
  21. Glad someone else appreciates this album. I love New Religion but i reckon i have listened to Riot Avenue and the debut more. 'Riot Avenue' is a good solid album. Simple explanation of the raw sound to me; It just plain and simply doesn't sound as "full" as something like 'New Religion.' Drums and guitars sound thin and it just doesn't sound like someone sat down and well... produced the thing, for lack of a better term. Just sounds like they laid down their guitar, drum and bass tracks separately and put it together with the vocals and the album was finished. Trendy hipsters may think that's cool, but I personally prefer a nice full and beefy sound... something ballsy like you get when you see a band live. Agree 100%. I also feel RA is a very solid album(the songs are there),just not the slick production(real shame) but still really like the album. New Religion has more guitar infill for sure...but the drum sound on RA is arguably better in my opinion. NR is all clashy cymbol.....if that's what you like. I totally get that some may not prefer the sound of RA, but to say its badly produced is wrong....its like saying you don't like the 'production' on a dance track because its just bass and keyboards but it is actually the best production ever. The fact is that every instrument sounds better on RA than any other Crazy Lixx album. And into the bargain I rated 4 songs on RA 10/10. There are some ball busters on there....and some incredible hooks.
  22. last thing on their facebook is a gig from Nov 2015 so defo still active.....I guess they might hit the studio again later this year??
