  1. Glad someone else appreciates this album. I love New Religion but i reckon i have listened to Riot Avenue and the debut more.
  2. Didnt they have some time off cos he had a problem with his voice??
  3. Yeah, no point prancing around the issue. Riot Avenue sounds like a polished demo and anything "raw" is code for "sounds like shit." No point trying to sugar coat it. New Religion > s/t > Loud Minority > Riot Avenue All good albums, though. bollocks. All of it. esp the s/t > Loud Minority bit................... There is some pure gold on the debut, but also some shit. s/t is good all the way through. Gems aren't as good as the ones on the debut, but the consistency is much better. And raw = shit. Face it. V little shit imo. And the gems are basically their best songs lets face it. There is nothing raw about Riot Avenue. Savage Playground is raw....Riot Avenue sounds as clear as a bell There is a big difference with not liking a sound and confusing it with a poor production.
  4. pointless discussing any further until samples are released. I sure they will stick to their signature sound (hopefully)
  5. I still haven't even listened to it. Need to get around to it. Yeah excellent album, give it a shot dude, after all it's Vega behind her music. Some whine about her vocal but it all boils down to personal taste hey Axl Rose, Jon Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy, and every legendary singers out there receive the same complain but that didn't stop them from being great, right ? Yeah, everything is good, buddy! Why bother... After all you seem to enjoy more than COP the latest scorpions + praying mantis There's a German dude in ebay.de who is listing new albums all the time (still I didn't see any 2016 releases, btw). Multiple copies of most of them with starting price 4.99 euro. He had listed ISSA for that price but apparently no one cared to get it and he lowered the price and I grabbed it! Here's his link: (nothing secretive or elitist here! ) http://www.ebay.de/itm/CD-MICHAEL-MONROE-BLACKOUT-STATES-/151968765230?hash=item23620b552e:g:fkYAAOSwLnlWm~~K I had in my watch list the latest Newman but apparently it sells like hotcake there.... probably because it's shite

  7. There is nothing muffled about Riot Avenue. Its stripped back for sure - you either like that sound or you dont. But all the instruments sound clear as a bell.
  8. more to the point did anyone read this : Anders Wikstrom said : "It's a musical as well as a personal soul searching. We traced us back to our roots, the music and the heroes that got us dreaming back in the 70s : Kiss, Van Halen, Sweet, Deep Purple and UFO." If that doesn't worry anyone, it should.
  9. No the vocal thing is not silly actually. A lot of people genuinely dislike her vocals - whiny and accented. I can also vouch that she is pretty poor live having seen her muller 'Spark & Flame' with From The Fire. Yeah the songs are pretty good - as you expect with them mostly being written by the Martin Brothers - but ultimately wasted on a weak vocalist. You'd think her husband would actually come clean and admit to her that she can't sing that well, rather than writing songs for her and encouraging her.
  10. 2.99 euros seems expensive for a coaster
  11. Just read the band's latest statement saying its the best album they've ever recorded. Not heard that before
  12. lol & what did you say, Glen? Haha, would love if you could expand on your comment. In the band photo is he the dude in the back with his hair tied back? It doesn't stick out for me immediately at all which one is JSS. In fact it's just a process of elimination that makes me assume that's him... but it doesn't really look like him. Anyway, the new song is incredibly average... sound just like the pointless stuff off the last album. I commented on a link to a review of the debut album by Andrew McNeice saying that I thought it was a good diverse album but way off the ludicrous score of 95% (which is the truth).. He replied by saying that is was one person's opinion who has earned the right to review albums over the years and that if I set up my webpage I would have the right to express my opinion as well. Strange as I would have though that my 35 years of buying rock music and 13,500 posts on this site promoting and discussing this genre and nearly 5 years on FB as his fan gave me the right to 'express a view'. I also told him that I was of the only people who defended his 'rather average' album on more than one public forum and that he should not berate and belittle his fans. Strangely these comments have been deleted
  13. Doubt this is gonna create any new fans JSS annoyed me a while back on FB when i dared to give some constructive criticism so the rest of the album is goona need to be mighty impressive for me to buy anything further from him. Somehow i severely doubt it.
  14. Yep Sweet Home Alabama is bad. Not terrible but just bad.
  15. Nice chicks but man that is a way to ruin an excellent song. Sounds like shit unplugged
  16. Jesus wtf happened to Simple Plan ???
  17. I read a comment online this morning, someone saying that aside from 'Time Well Wasted' the album was a bit of a disappointment. Odd comment really when 'Please, Please, Please', 'Tears That I Cry', 'Run To Me' all sound very similar and as good (perhaps not quite as heavy hitting).
  18. more Work of Art than Work of Art [in a good way ]
  19. These crowd funding things are a joke.........you pay over the top odds for the CD and then folk who haven't contributed get their cheaper CD first via Amazon or something. Its a joke. Wont ever take part in one again.
  20. Wow! Really? That's a shitty song, regardless who's playing it. Weird.
