  1. http://www.foreigner...s.html?n_id=737 Foreigner to Release Acoustique on 9/13/11! Foreigner is proud to announce the first ever acoustic studio recording by a classic rock band, Acoustique, available on September 13th through Razor & Tie! The album will be available for digital download, and will also be featured in a new three disc set, Feels Like The First Time, available exclusively at Walmart. This new release has everything for Foreigner fans, old and new. The current line-up of Foreigner, rocking since 2005, has revitalized the music of Foreigner and has made it truly feel like the first time, as many who have seen them perform can attest to. The Walmart collection is a tribute to the work they have been doing these past 6 years. The set includes two audio discs: CD One: Acoustique: The Classics Unplugged and CD Two: Juke Box Heroes: Brand New Digital Recordings of Foreigner's Greatest Hits including a brand new single, Save Me, co-written with Mick jones' step-daughter and well-known DJ & Musician, Samantha Ronson, and one live concert DVD: Live in Chicago. Disc One: Acoustique: The Classics Unplugged There is a first time for everything! This acoustic album featuring Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen, Jeff Pilson and Tom Gimbel, brings to you the Foreigner classics re-imagined in the studio, a first for their genre! Listen to the classics like you have never heard them before! Founder Mick Jones says of Acoustique: "My feeling over the years is that if you can write a song on an acoustic instrument, and it sounds good, you know you have a good song," Mick explains. "The first time we approached these songs this way I was flabbergasted about how well they adapted back to their nucleus. It's been an eye opener how stripping the songs bare brings fresh meaning and emotion out of them." Vocalist Kelly Hansen say of Acoustique: "We were doing these live acoustic shows that were being broadcast," he recalls, "and we got a huge response. It was kind of shocking and surprising, and also something that was really new for us. We've never really done that, kind of laying yourself out naked, without lights and amps or anything. It was a real different feeling and a challenge, so we came back and decided to record it." A high point on the Acoustique disc is the song, "The Flame Still Burns," which was co-written by Mick Jones for the 1998 cult rock movie Still Crazy, where it was performed by Jimmy Nail. Mick won the prestigious English Ivor Novello songwriting award for this song. Also included is a tribute to Elvis Presley with a blistering version of "That's All Right." Disc Two: Juke Box Heroes: Bran New Digital Recordings of Foreigner's Greatest Hits This collection of Foreigner's greatest hits was digitally recorded this year by mastermind, composer and producer Mick Jones, sensational lead singer Kelly Hansen, bassist Jeff Pilson, multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Mark Schulman. The set also includes a brand new song, Save Me, which was co-written with Mick Jones' step-daughter and well-known DJ & musician, Samantha Ronson. Disc Three: Live In Chicago The 80 minute DVD features the band's greatest hits in pristine high definition from their recent Chicago concert. It also features behind the scenes footage and bonus acoustic versions of some of the band's classic hits. The concert will air on PBS through August and into the fall as part of the Public Television Rocks series. Catch Foreigner on the road now with Journey. 2. From Sebastian's Facebook page: I am numb, in shock, & devastated to report that my home of 21 years, my house featured on MTV Cribs, has been destroyed, condemned, & deemed uninhabitable due to the extreme flooding courtesy of Hurricane Irene. In the 2 decades I have lived in this home, there has never been a single drop of water in the basement or anywhere else in the structure. Now Irene has overflowed the reservoir adjacent to my house. The surging waters have snapped the bridge in half next to my house & sent the bridge straight into my garage, knocking the house off of its foundation. The basement that has been dry for over 2 decades is now overflowing with water & I am not even allowed to start pumping the water out due to fears of electrocution. Original Skid Row & KISS fans, I have bad news for you . Gone are irreplacable items, such as my KISS Gargoyles from the 1979 tour. KISS pinball machine. Skid Row master tapes, video & audio, concerts, master tapes from Oh Say Can You Scream etc. Boxes & boxes of one of a kind Skid Row memorabilia, from the first tour to our last, all stuff I collected on the road that no one else had. I had a library in the basement with every single magazine that had Skid Row on the cover. This library took up a big part of the basement. All of this is lost now. We will salvage what we can of course. But how I wish there was a reason to do a box set or something before Hurricane Irene hit. Nobody cared. Now it's too late. Don't know what you got till it's gone, indeed. The good news is that all my fathers artwork , including the 16 foot "Slave To The Grind" mural, is all ok. My sons & friends moved all my dads art to the 2nd level of the structure before Irene destroyed our home. My Silver Age Comic Collection is all on the 3rd level, with the David Bierk Archives, which is a completely dry level. But we are not allowed into the house yet to retrieve everything because the foundation has crumbled & the house could conceivably collapse at any second. We are working with the police & fire department to get the electricity turned off so no one gets electrocuted entering the premises. As soon as the power is off we will pump out the basement & salvage what we can. Everything will be put into storage & then it looks like we will level the house This has really taught me that the best things in life are indeed 'free' . What makes me happy is that my children & ex wife are safe. My dads art is unharmed. No one got hurt. My scrapbooks of memories of my life are dry & safe. The only things that are making me smile today is cranking Black Veil Brides "Set the World on Fire" CD over & over again. Texting Danny from Asking Alexandria who may become my new roommate in LA . Getting texts from my girl Minnie in LA making sure I'm ok & trying to cheer me up. My neighbours in New Jersey clamouring around my house, calling me, offering help in any way they can. These things mean more to me than mere posessions. I have been holding on to my house since December, when my divorce papers were filed. I just could not let go of the only home I had ever known. Well, God has other plans for me it seems. He has made His decision for me. My home has been taken away by an "Act Of God". I just think He is giving me a much needed push, is all. New Jersey, thank you all so much for 25 years of rock n' roll. It's all over now. I will always love New Jersey but now there is literally nothing left for me here except memories of a past life. Hello, Los Angeles. Hello, New Life. Here I Am. It's time for a new start. Like I have a choice.
  3. I'll make it simple... ALL of 'em SUCK! I've been a DirecTV subscriber for 14 years now... never had a late payment, never had any major issues, BUT, people who have never paid them a single damn penny are getting NFL Sunday Ticket for FREE??? You know what they offered me when I asked about getting it for free, or at least a substantial discount? $5.00 off. Fuck them. Problem is, my main alternative, Charter Cable, also sucks big veiny Ron Jeremy cock. I grew up with Charter, and had them as my cable tv provider when I first moved out on my own, and their service went out CONSTANTLY. Everything from thunderstorms, sunspots, and squirrels (yes, squirrels) would fuck up their picture or knock it out completely. Never again. And as for Dish TV, I've got several friends who either currently have Dish, or used to have Dish, and all of them have said that their customer service is non existent, and that they would not recommend them to anyone. No thanks. So, again, they all SUCK.

  6. Jani Lane: His Only Real Friend... That Killed Him in the End RIP by Sebastian Bach on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 6:53pm People have been asking me about Jani Lane & I really don't know what to say. Picturing him by himself in a Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills with a bottle of vodka & a bottle of pills is so typical of what a rock musicians life actually is. It is a life marked by extremes. Extreme attention from people you don't know, while all the work & travel takes you away from those you actually do know. Playing to thousands of people & then going back to your hotel room & shutting the door. When the door shuts... the quiet is the exact opposite of the volume of the concert. The solitude of the empty hotel room becomes the diametric parallel of the adulation of strangers. For some, the bottle of vodka or whatever becomes a friend that is always there for you while others come & go. Yes I have felt these emotions myself. If you see me going head over heels over a girl, it's because all I have ever wanted is to have a girl to love & share my life with, & for the one I love to be with me wherever I'm at, travel with me to distant locales & stay in nice kick ass hotel suites & have fun & sing & dance & see the world. But so far this is a fantasy. Just like Jani, I spend most of my time alone in a hotel room dreaming of a girl I love who is somewhere else. I bet Jani Lane felt exactly what I feel. How could he not? I remember decades ago being invited to Janis house for a barbeque, which we went to. But Jani didn't show up. So I spent the afternoon with Janis dad cooking burgers & steaks & having a wonderful day with his family. My condolences to his family & especially Janis children who now only have memories of their dad to hold on to. That is truly heartbreaking. Let this be yet another lesson to tell someone some kind words sometimes... before it's too late... while they are still alive. I can guarantee Jani Lane would not have anticipated everyone coming out of the woodwork extolling the life & times of Jani Lane. Which is why he probably died alone. In a hotel room. With his only real friend...that killed him in the end. Jani Lane & Sebastian Bach, a million years ago. RIP Jani Lane
  7. Huh?? I haven't commented anywhere in this thread Adriano; what exactly are you referring to?
  8. You can listen to the first official single (second track released overall) from "Worship Music" titled "The Devil You Know" here: http://loudwire.com/...ow-song-review/ Just getting more and more excited for the album!
  9. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/news/Megadeth-Announce-Release-Date-For-TH1RT3EN-23232.aspx Megadeth have made it official: Their 13th studio album, TH1RT3EN, will be released on November 1, 2011. Says singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine, "This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded. There are moments on TH1RT3EN that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed! My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on TH1RT3EN.” TH1RT3EN also marks the recorded return of bassist Dave Ellefson, who was part of the band's classic lineup from 1983 to 2002. In a move that delighted the band's legion of diehards, Ellefson returned to performing live with Megadeth in early 2010 and has remained a fixture on the stage ever since. This is the first time Ellefson has played on a Megadeth record since 2002's Rude Awakening. The album's title has several layers of meaning, which leader and guitar deity Mustaine, who first picked up an axe at the age of 13, revealed in a recent chat with RollingStone.com, saying, "I was born on September 13th; this is my thirteenth record. It just seemed like it was the right thing to do to call it TH1RT3EN." The band has spent the summer killing it on the main stage of the fourth annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour, and they'll cap that off by performing as part of "The Big 4" once again, this time in New York at Yankee Stadium alongside Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax. The only previous "Big 4" show in the U.S. took place in April in Southern California. The band recorded an original track, "Never Dead," specifically for the NeverDead action-adventure video game franchise; that song will appear on TH1RT3EN, as will "Sudden Death," which the band recorded for Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock.
  10. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/firewolfe http://firewolfe.com/blog/ This one was mentioned on the MR.com noticeboard earlier today, and I gotta say, as soon as I listened to all the samples, I grabbed a copy ($12 for U.S. customers which includes s/h direct from their website!). Check 'em out! --------------------------------------------------------- FireWolfe is: Vocals: David Fefolt Guitars: Paul Kleff Guitars: Nick Layton Drums: Jay Schellen Bass: Zack Uidl Twin-guitar fueled melodic metal with powerful vocals--this is FireWolfe. Being friends and mutual fans of each other's music and guitar playing, a new band was formed out of a conversation Nick Layton and Paul Kleff had in early 2010. The two shared many guitar and musical influences and immediately started to lay the groundwork and musical vision for a new band. Without having a full band put together yet, Paul and Nick began writing music together. Heavy, melodic and powerful music with an emphasis on great songs with killer guitar work. The ultimate goal was to have a band that made the kind of music that they would want to listen to and an album that they would want to buy. As the writing progressed, the focus shifted to finding the right voice for the music. A heavy, melodic and powerful voice that would not only fit the style of music that was being created, but would also be able to take the rough songs and turn them into world-class melodic metal. One name kept coming up over and over again—veteran rock/metal vocalist David Fefolt. Some phone calls were made, rough tracks were sent over, and David was immediately on board as the voice and front man of the band—"I think between us we could make something really special out of this." Heavy, loud, melodic and full of hook-laden guitar work--this is FireWolfe.
  11. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I haven't bought and checked out nearly as many new CDs this year as I normally do, but some of the ones I have really enjoyed so far are... Dynazty - Knock You Down (Probably my fave of the year so far; kickass stuff!) Night Ranger - Somewhere in California (A close second; nice return to form) Journey - Eclipse King Kobra - S/T Legion - Code of Honour Sixx AM - This is Gonna Hurt Stryper - The Covering Tesla - Twisted Wires Mike Tramp - Stand Your Ground Vains of Jenna - Reverse Tripped (I know most will detest this one, but I enjoyed their sleazy take on the songs they chose to cover) Whitesnake - Forevermore Victory - Don't Talk Science Rubicon Cross - EP (Only 4 songs, but I enjoy them all) A few that are already out, that I must pick up soon are Rob Moratti, Arabia, and Human Zoo. Some releases set for later this year that I'm looking forward to: Anthrax - Worship Music WORK OF ART - In Progress SERPENTINE - Living And Dying In High Definition SEBASTIAN BACH - KICKING & SCREAMING HOUSE OF LORDS - Big Money The worst thing I've heard this year? No competition here... Queensryche - Dedicated to Chaos. I got the "special edition", and I seriously stopped listening at about the half way point in disgust. WTF were they thinking???
  12. Groovin' bass line and killer backing vox from Mike Anthony, killer solo from Joe, thundering drums from Chad, and Sammy's trademark vocals.... shit, I'm lovin' this! I've got both hands on the wheel, and my big foot on the gas... http://www.chickenfoot.us/
  13. Just speculating, but with the manner in which this has gone down, I would say it's either about money, or Oni decided he was too strung out to go on tour (I don't think he has a history of this, but you never know). No matter what the case, it should be interesting to hear his side of the story.
  14. Great to hear that noone was seriously injured; hope everything works out for you and your family.
  15. http://pitriff.com/n...quits-lynch-mob Oni Logan Quits Lynch Mob The reformed LYNCH MOB, featuring former DOKKEN guitarist George Lynch, was set to begin its summer U.S. tour on Friday, July 29 in Houston. It was a surprise to the Texas crowd when the dynamic band showed up without singer Oni Logan, who decided to sit this tour out at home. Chaz West of BONHAM will now be replacing Logan on this trek. Commented the band in a statement: "Oni let the band and our fans down. He quit the band at 5:30 a.m. before our 7:30 a.m. scheduled flight. He left us high and dry and did not fulfill his commitment. We are saddened and disappointed — but as a band, we are committed to honoring our obligations." George also stated that he plans on emulating the vocals with his guitar, if necessary! In 2009, Lynch reformed LYNCH MOB and released "Smoke And Mirrors", which was followed by an extended tour. In a January 2010 interview with PureGrainAudio.com, Oni stated about his return to LYNCH MOB, "I never thought it would happen, honestly. I am glad that it did happen, and now that it has, it is like going back in time and visiting an old friend and kind of just picking up where we left off. This is such a natural thing for me and George. Our chemistry is great, he does the music and I do the lyrics and what you have is 'Smoke And Mirrors'." When asked how he prepares for the physical demands of a tour, Oni said, "Well, we try to do some different things as opposed to years ago when we were younger. We are pretty level-headed guys and I think we have a way of dealing with touring, for sure. I try to stay fit as much as I can. Obviously, when you are out on the road, you do not get to eat quite as well and you are pretty much sleep-deprived at times. It is all a matter of trying to find ways to keep yourself happy and sane. It is a pretty crazy rock and roll world out there, you know. Fans come out to have a good time, which is great, but there are a lot of things that come along with that as well. We try to keep level-headed and press on, because it is all about the music and nothing else." LYNCH MOB is working on a new album, due out later this year. The band's current touring lineup is as follows: George Lynch - Guitar Chaz West (BONHAM) - Lead Vocals Robbie Crane (RATT) - Bass/Vocals Scott Coogan - Drums/Vocals
  16. http://salisbury.wbt...ing-rowan/65204 Sheriff asks ATF to look into rock star Tommy Lee and friends shooting outing in Rowan SALISBURY, NC - Sheriff Kevin Auten has asked the ATF to look into a recent event in which members of the Salisbury Police Department, Spencer Police Department, and Rowan County Sheriff's Office arranged a shooting outing at a local gun range. The outing included rock star Tommy Lee and several members of his band, along with the law enforcement officers at the Rowan County Peace Officers Lodge. Sheriff Auten and Salisbury Chief Rory Collins told WBTV on Tuesday that they did not believe the outing violated any laws, but since some concern had been expressed, they wanted it looked into by the ATF. Tommy Lee has been in trouble with the law in the past, charged with several felonies including the assault of his former wife, Pamela Anderson. Lee was sentenced to six-months in that case after pleading no contest. The former Motley Crue drummer was also placed on unsupervised 18-month probation and fined $161 after pleading no contest after reportedly instigating a riot during a 1997 concert at Greensboro Coliseum. Lee and a band mate allegedly poured beer over a guard's head and suggested to the crowd to attack him. Lee avoided arrest in 1997, but returned in 1999 with his attorney and was served with charges of felony riot with ethnic animosity and simple assault, a misdemeanor. He pleaded no contest to simple assault and was sentenced to probation. According to the North Carolina's Felony Firearms Act it is against the law "for any person who has been convicted of a felony to purchase, own, possess, or have in his custody, care, or control any firearm." "Nonetheless, because this situation involved Police Officers, and because there were allegations of "possible" wrong-doing, the ATF was asked to take a look into it to make sure the officers had done nothing wrong," Chief Collins told WBTV in an email. "Each department is also doing their own independent investigation." Lee's official web site features several pictures of the rocker firing guns under the headline "Shooting guns in North Carolina." The date on the pictures is July 19.
  17. What's the perfect way to repair a "strained" relationship? Why, get married of course! http://www.sleazerox...ews/00589.shtml Rocker Gene Simmons has proposed to his girlfriend of 28 years, Shannon Tweed. The KISS frontman and the model are parents to 22-year-old son Nicholas and 18-year-old daughter Sophie, and have lived together since 1985. They are currently starring in reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, on which their strained relationship has come under the spotlight - last month the couple fell out during the filming of the show after Simmons poked fun at his infamous womanising ways. But now the star has pledged his love to the former Playboy model, getting on his knees to propose on the season finale of the programme. In a clip of the show, he tells Tweed, "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I've ever loved. You're the only one I love and you're the only one I ever will love, and I will say those words to anybody." The rocker then drops to his knees, when Tweed bursts into tears and holds her hands over her mouth as he asks her, "Please marry me." Tweed's answer will be shown when the episode airs on Tuesday.
  18. You live for tomorrow... I'll live for today...

  20. I actually watched the premier TWICE, trying to give it a chance to grab my interests and it just didn't happen. I'll try to watch the next episode or two, but unless it picks up BIG TIME, I'll probably abandon this one. *The next Sci-fi series I'm looking forward to checking out is Alphas: http://www.syfy.com/alphasseries/ And of course, Terra Nova in the fall: http://www.fox.com/terranova/
  21. I'd say the easiest way would be to upload the samples to the Retrospect Records site, and then post direct links to the files in a thread on here that you want everyone to sample. If you've got ALOT of samples you want to post, you could put them in a zip and then use one of the file sharing services like MegaUpload, Rapidshare, Divshare, etc...
  22. We have a new entry into the MR.com 100% club today: http://www.melodicrock.com/reviews/reviews.html Night Ranger - Somewhere in California has scored 100% I've got this one still sealed sitting next to my PC right now. Gonna give it a listen this afternoon and hear for myself the 100 percenty goodness!
