  1. Here's a band from Bel Air, Maryland that recorded in and played the Baltimore circuit in the late 80's early 90's. This is the track "Young 'N Wild" off their three track demo recorded in 1990.......
  2. DIRTY SALLY is a band from Camp Hill, Pennsylvannia that recorded and played in Baltimore during the early 90's. This is the track "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" off their 4 track demo tape titled "She's Alive". It was recorded in 1992
  3. Wow....Here's a Baltimoore area band and I was really impressed with the sound coming off this demo tape....it really delivers a punch splashed everywhere with blazing guitars, excellent vocals and rythym that will electrify. Virtually unknown to most collectors this well produced metal/hard rock demo sounds like mix of ELISE, ELECTRICHKA, ALYZE, FROZEN ROSE and maybe some KEEL. The guitar work is excellent and the underlying rythyms are definitely solid. The band is from the metro area of Baltimoore, MD and they recorded it in 1992......This is the track "Cat's Away" off this killer 4 track demo.....
  4. Very interesting sound coming from this band.....It certainly gained my interest!!
  5. Released July 14 by Rockshot Records in Italy and due for international Release In October 2017 is the new melodic rock CD by Freight Train......I received my copy from Rockshot this week and believe this one may end up becoming a sleeper that slips past the radar of many collectors: INFO Rockshots Records proudly announces the signing of AOR/melodic rock band Freight Train, a young and rising band from Italy formed in 2015. In the same year the band released the first videoclip: a cover version of Journey‘s “Any Way You Want It”, getting them noticed by AOR fans on YouTube and giving an unexpected exposure. Freight Train's debut album, called ”I”, offers a classic AOR sound revisited in a fresh and modern way, thanks to the massive use of choirs, celestial keyboards, stunning guitars and bass works, solid drums and multi-versatile vocals. Track listing1. The Beginning 2. You Won't Fall 3. Into The Fire 4. Another Chance 5. Here I Am 6. Somewhere, Someday 7. The Prelude 8. Reach For The Stars 9. Any Way You Want It (Journey cover) 10. Into The Fire (acoustic version) Line-upIvan Mantovani (v) Andrea Cappelletti (g) Enrico Testi (g, v) Anton Bagdatyev (k, v) Lorenzo Pucci (b, bv) Mattia Simoncini (d)
  6. I agree...got my copy from Paul last week and this is an extremely pleasant sounding AOR release from a brilliant vocalist. We lost a great artist when Saylor passed away. Most loved his Wild Rose vocals as well. This CD was actually a labor of love by some of the people who worked with Him.
  7. And once again......like I said......It's a shame we don't have the opportunity to caually mark a "like" when someone posts something we either agree with or is meaningful. It was just a passing thought...... Makes not a hill of beans whether you love or hate Facebook, it was a comment relating to a function there. If you don't like Facebook, don't use it, if you don't like cauliflower, don't eat it, if you don't like Fords, don't buy one.....just sayin'...... I didn't recommend heavy harmonies morph into a Facebook page......did I "offend someone"??? won't be the first time....
  8. Copy is on the way....waiting with bated breath. All good reports so far!
  9. Just received the new FREIGHT TRAIN 1.......EXCELLENT AOR
  10. Shame the forum isn't like facebook in that we could add a like to a comment........ I agree.....
  11. Highly anticipate this one......I can still remember the first time I heard each of their previous releases........this style is right up my alley and tickles my ears immensely!!!
  12. Couldn't agree more......I stopped picking up the TEN releases years ago for this reason........very mundane
  13. I'm not too quick to count this one out......I did enjoy the uptempo tracks I've heard so far, however the ballads weighed me down. In time, I would probably be glad I picked this one up, if nothing more, than for the tracks i did enjoy hearing. Filler, yes.......some enjoyable, yes.........on the fence? yes...........
  14. The track "Juliette" has much more "energy" than the first track posted and sparks my interest in this band more so than it was after hearing the first track "Welcome To The Show"!!
  15. For me, this CD is a combination of strong musicianship, skillful song writing and personal and professional chemistry that make for a fantastic musical force. Massive harmonies and enough choruses and hooks to drive one wild. When I first heard this CD, it reminded me of bands such as TRADIA, TYKETTO or UNDER FIRE and I found it in my CD player continually. Truly infectious is the proper word. SLYBOYZ members, Dario Dipietrantonio, guitar/vocals, and Marty Olga, keyboards/vocals went on to form another great AOR band, SAVANNAH.
  16. I've got their demo cassette and transferred it to a CDR to play on my CD player. This is an excellent hair metal band
  17. You want to know what's sad here.......most of us have so much music, there's no possible way to have enought time to listen to all of it over and over. I'm sure there's a majority here that have stuff stashed away that they most likely will NEVER listen to again. I have CDs and tapes in boxes after boxes downstairs. Sometimes when I go down there, I find bands I never knew I had. Honestly! I keep the stuff that really interests me upstairs on shelves near the CD player and tape player. When I buy something new that looks interesting......I try to give it a play within the first week and after a quick appraisal, make the decision to stash it or play it again.......Yeah, I couldn't imagine going though the entire collection and giving it a rating. Geoff, you are a gluten for punishment man.......more power to ya!
  18. Wow....Geoff, you can't be serious man??? Don't you get tired of hearing the same stuff over and over.....this is different!! I guess it is the leanings of Pomp / progressive style AOR that drives you off? After all, bands such as UK's MAGNUM, PRAYING MANTIS and SARACEN fall into this genre......do they have much appeal to you? I know your ears desire more of an "edge", but this is classical stuff......
  19. I remember this one when it came out.....Gets a lot of play in my CD player. It was released on a tiny indie label of Italy and it's really some good stuff. Full of fantastic AOR-songs with wonderful melodies and strong hooklines. It made me think of bands like STREET TALK, SUNSTORM, HAREM SCAREM'S (debut) and KHYMERA. My favorite song of the album is the stunning "Talk To Me" that Stefan posted above.....it starts with keyboards that reminds of BONJOVI'S "Runaway". The rest of the song is fantastic with great hooks and a awesome chorus. They have 4 different singers and they are all really good and therefore the variation is really great. The production is very good and the sound is very clean and tight. This was a nice surprise for me and it’s not only MYLAND, BRUNO ROCK and MICHELE LUPPI that can deliver high class AOR from Italy. If you're into AOR with layers of melodies and love lots of keyboards like me then track this one down.....it is a band you must check out.
  20. Actually fell in love with this CD............get's quite a bit of time in my CD player!!
  21. Always loved their debut CD......Some great playing by Steve & John Conte & Frankie La Rocka, with Kyf Brewer bellowing out in front with his big fat hairweave. Rock'n'roll! COMPANY OF WOLVES was melodic rock back in 1990 without keyboards and having their own, interesting lead guitar sound. There are sounds of CINDERELLA and FASTER PUSSYCAT, and I even hear some ROLLING STONES in their music........call me deaf, but I hear it. I loved the sample I heard on CD Baby.....here's hoping for a full CD release soon......
  22. I completely understand the logistics you are talking about to add the demos and agree, probably isn't practical at this time. However, may i suggest, a category in the forum dedicated to demo cassettes. Folks could post info on demo cassettes they've come across or have in their collections, sharing info, J card photos and other details related to the demo. There are so many out there and it is becoming more and more of an interest to many of us collectors. I know, I have tons of demos and there are still thousands out there I would love to know about. I certainly think it would be interesting to hear from others and see what they have in their collections.........give that one some thought?
  23. My copy just arrived, so I'm gettin ready for a "listen". Reading the comments, I hope it doesn't distract my thoughts on the album
