  1. yeh - they didnt give me any paperwork to include. But at least you kinda know what to do since you've been there the last 2 years. Be good to see you again man!
  2. I am a HUGE fan of any band called HUNTER!!
  3. Actually.... As far as the Lynzee cover goes... No, you can't even imagime. Sam... were you able to include the tune "Dreaming Of You" on the DC STar release? yes I can't wait for the 'unveiling' of the Lynzee album - the whole world is going to talk. LOL. I should post it here....
  4. OK , so let me try to do some updating... Megaton Blonde is still being transferred from the original reels to digital format. These guys are KILLER by the way. The song Digital Doll is unbelievable. Problem Child 'Primitive Attitude' is in production. Both Michael Furlongs should be available within 2 weeks. Both Aftermath releases also wihin 2 weeks (for all you thrash fans). The triple assault of LYNZEE releases will be available in July or early August. (Wait til you see the ultra-controversial front cover for 'Victim of Nirvana' - well you can imagine - lol) The 3 Pandemonium albums will be available in August. Other releases scheduled to come out before September Wild Dove featuring Tipa Sparrs (Whitefoxx , World War III) and Karl Logan (Manowar) Foxy Foxy NE4 'Never Lift' + Bonus Tracks DC Star - 2 cd collection with a ton of unreleased material Cuttlass - unreleased 3rd album Mis-Fit Lickity Split Harlot (the L.A. based glam band) Megattack 'Raw Delivery' Masquerade (the ultra rare album + unreleased tracks from this Seattle-based band who featured Sullivan Bigg of Wild August in the ranks) Rosie - 3 releases (Cleveland band) C.B.S. - Rosie lead singer's solo album Alias self-titled debut from 1987 (melodic metal band) Solus Rex - I actually played keys on this and Aaron did a guitar solo. This release also has guest appearances from Dennis Lind (Mariah) and Donnie and Chip from Enuff Z'Nuff. The Score - Our very own Paul S's entity gets its first release on cd. You guys have heard it. It's quality AOR!! Also , I'd like to ask the HH community for a little help. Someone posted a while back the front cover for HYDE. If anyone has a Hi-Res JPEG of the front and back cover of the HYDE album please give me a shout. Thanks!
  5. Picked this up a couple of weeks ago, absolute MONSTER CD. In fact the best thing I've heard on Retrospect to date IMO, true classic AOR - and great packaging on this one too. Like a cross between Giuffria/Biloxi/Network, it's essential to everyone who loves 80's AOR - and I don't remember hearing many vocal performances better than the one on this disc. What happened to this guy? He's like a mix of James Christian and Freddy Curci, and just soars all over this disc. Awesome find this... Glad you liked it! When Brook Hansen showed me these tracks and said they'd never been released I was floored. It definitely is right up there with Alliance and Arrival. Very high quality AOR. I hope many of you will give HUNTER a shot!
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tUdvVYRHvI so you released it? why yes , Deathmask 'Split the Atom' is now available including 5 bonus tracks!!
  7. Personally I would have really enjoyed having Oliver Magnum but it's news to me they were asked considering I booked all the stages. Defcon wanted flights and stuff covered and it just wasn't feasible this year but if there's a Rocklahoma 2010 , you're gonna see Defcon and the return of Mariah for sure. Fifth Angel and a bunch of others that I couldn't get on the bill last minute (a lot of Euro bands) Baton Rouge is the original line-up with Keeling on vocals. Icon is 3 originals plus the addition of Dave Henzerling (Big Cock aka David Michael Phillips of King Kobra) + Adler's Appetite singer - who is really good. about 40 days away now - should be fun!! Incidentally if anyone wants to go to Rocklahoma in July , I will hook you up with a 2 for 1 deal on ticket prices AND throw in some cool stuff. (Shirt , cd , program) I'll do an official post on that shortly. I'm kinda surprised more HH peeps aren't going , I mean there's a lot of great melodic bands this year with Danger Danger , Bonfire , Silent Rage , Icon , Warrior , D'Molls , Dirty Looks , Aska , Baton Rouge etc..... If you guys wanna go I will SERIOUSLY get you hooked up with a 2-for-1 ticket price. Sam
  8. Pandemonium has been lovingly remastered from the original Metal Blade sessions and should see a release in July or August. Perennial is a band my brother will have to answer. Rock On!! Just a quick FYI 1) Baton Rouge , Icon , Lord Tracy , Fifth Angel and a number of other killer bands have just signed deals with Retrospect!! 2) We have bought our own FM radio station. 3) We have just signed a deal to host an entire soundtrack for a movie entitled ONE BRIGHT MILE. Stay tuned for more details!!
  9. Dave and Paul S , thanks for joining me on a very enjoyable night. Sorry you couldn't make it Brian J - maybe Atlantic City in July? Guys , I have to totally back LV Kix on his analysis of Wildstreet. I've seen a LOT of bands in the past 20 years (Heaven's Wish and Frontrunner being stand-outs) but nobody (with maybe the exception of Steel Panther - lol) , has made me jump out of my shoes like Wildstreet. These kids just have that "it" factor that we have waited forever for. Please support these kids , they are just unbelievable and lit the place up. Krank were really good too - pure Metal! Midnight Hero was solid with their vocalist still having a good set of pipes. Wildstreet has a bright future - I have to get them on a killer tour.... ROCK ON
  10. The GOOD news is I finally signed FIRSTRYKE to a 2 album deal including the "Just A Nightmare" release plus a complete unreleased album. Very good Melodic Metal - they'll be at Rok this year too. Jacob - you going?

  12. They are playing the big Bike rally in Laughlin on April 25th. First time in 15+ years - they are totally stoked about it. I'll try to find out the exact location - I WILL be there!
  13. We are definitely going to do some Retrospect Nights in Salt Lake. Funnily enough , Bad Angels have just reformed for a one-off show in Laughlin (NV) on April 25th - they are going to do the entire album. I am soooo going to video the show!! Just finished signing the biggest band yet for R.R.!!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF NEWS COMING YOUR WAY!! \m/ \m/ Sam
  14. The Atomic Clock artwork was supplied by the band and is exactly how they wanted it. I'm not going to argue with the band. LOL
  15. Thanks for the feedback guys. Wow - seems Defcon made almost everyone's list!! I think I need them to come play Rocklahoma for sure! Just a quick update , we have a lot of great releases coming out in the next 30 days so keep your eyes peeled. Everything from The Innocent , Freakshow , Wildstreet , both Michael Furlong albums , D'Molls , Firstryke 'Just a Nightmare' , Hunter , Vendetta (yes the album from 1982!) , Jekyll , The Romeo Slam , Fleury , Scram and a ton of others! Also , lots of Retrospect showcase nights popping up around the country - Tampa , Philly , Cleveland , Chicago - if you are close by I'll put you on the guest list! First night MAY 2nd - Pennant East - Bellmawr NJ Rock On guys! Thanks again. Cheers! P.S. MASSIVE announcement coming soon regarding one of THE most coveted AOR bands of the mid-80s....
  16. Anyone see the latest additions to Rok '09??
  17. Hi everyone , you know I've been at this for 3 and a half years now and , believe it or not , I really do value the opinions of many of the members here at HH because YOU are the collectors and fans of the type of music Retrospect releases. I'd really like to know , if you own ANY or a few Retrospect releases and can comment , which releases you thought were our best so far. Maybe a top 3? It really helps me discern the type of releases which are making an impact on the listeners. Thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated. Your top 3?
  18. We are VERY pleased to have signed this great hidden gem of an act. Paul , I love this album! I think fans of bands like Dreamstreet , The Innocent , Fortune and the like are going to be very pleased with this cd. Thanks to everyone here for recommending Retrospect - that really means a lot and I know it's taken a lot for me to earn your respect. Artwork is nearly finished , remastering is finished so I am hoping for a mid-May release date at the latest. Paul you rock! Thanks for the opportunity to represent THE SCORE! Lots of BIG BIG releases coming out this year - I hope many of you will try them out and will be pleased with the results. ROCK ON GENTLEMEN! Sam
  19. VERY excited about this release gentlemen!! Imagine my surprise when I found an email from Frankie Banali asking if I'd be interested in releasing the Freakshow cd!!! Wow - and what a cd! I hope it gets in many top ten lists this year. Retrospect Records was also voted as 2nd best AOR label in the world (right behind Frontiers) by Powerplay magazine too - did you see that!! I am really excited about whats happening this year - between getting Icon and Baton Rouge to re-unite for Rocklahoma and getting bands like Bai Bang and Mad Max (with Michael Voss) to come over to play Rocklahoma as well , AND another HUUUUGE piece of news concerning another big 80s AOR band that peeps haven't seen since 1986 - things are really looking up. I'll do some more official announcements soon , but with the signing of bands like D'Molls , Fifth Angel and Bonfire - Retrospect Records may be finally earning some respect in the industry. I hope I have earned yours. ROCK ON H.H.!!! P.S. The art for Freakshow was all ready to go , Markus had it finished and sent me the files.
  20. Not yet but we VERY close! Did you guys see I signed FREAKSHOW?
  21. I don't know where he has you playing since I am booking all sidestages and you're not on the list. And the list is full. I'm not trying to be a dick but I don't see you booked man.
