  1. Hey guys , thanks for the support. Nick , we are just locating the best audio we can for Rosie before going to print. And someone was asking about cd-r VS silver cd releases. We really decide that on a case by case basis. I mean we aren't really interested in printing up 500 of a 4 song EP but we always consider silver-ing a disc before doing a short run cd-r. It's case by case but MOST of the time we will opt for the silver cd because we know people like those better.
  2. Wouldn't you rather have the music and support the bands no matter what "format" the music is pressed on or just not listen to it at all? I guess I just don't understand that way of thinking... "it has to be silver-pressed or I don't wanna hear it at all". Who cares? The Diamond cd-r's are sold by many different outlets and by bands themselves. Why would you not to want to support the bands? To each his own , but it doesn't make any sense to me. In the 80s , I didn't go out and buy manufactured cassettes that ONLY said CHROMIUM BIAS on them. I didn't buy vinyl that ONLY said Super Audiophile on them. It's crazy that people would rather not enjoy good music because it's a diamond-bottom cd-r rather than a 'silver replicated' disc. The music sounds EXACTLY the same. The inserts are EXACTLY the same. Do you buy a cd for the color of a disc or for the music thats on the disc? Very silly.
  3. All of those Jacob plus another mega-rare band from Tulsa that you may have (or have not) heard of called STRUTZ.
  4. I believe it's Pyramid , Midnight Hero and another band. I believe the bands set that up.

  6. Worst countries BY FAR for losing items. BRAZIL and ITALY win hands down (followed by the Philippines). SEND SHIT REGISTERED TO THOSE COUNTRIES! As far as islands , I've sent to Trinidad & Tobago and Majorca but never to Fiji or places like that. Wierdest country (that I didn't even know existed) I ever sent a package to was probably that tiny country inbetween France and Spain. Population 50,000 or something. Never even heard of it before and I thought I was quite geographically savvy.
  7. Actually it's only about $200 to duplicate 100 cd's with a 4 page booklet. The plant I use has tons of different options and I can even do as low as a 50 cd run. Of course ,most of the time I do a 500 run now which are replicated and cost around $1.35 per disc with a 4 pager , $1.50 for 6 pager and about $1.63 for an 8-pager. Some people ask why I don't just replicate everything...well , it's difficult justifying doing a 500-1000 units of a 4 or 5 song EP. I don't mind paying 50 cents more per disc for a short run. Sorry , didn't mean to hijack the thread... MR SCARY SOUNDS REALLY GOOD!
  8. hmmm....there's talk of a $5 Easter Egg sale in April...Find the Easter Eggs and the cd is only FIVE BUCKS!! Ok it's a little work , but kinda fun too.
  9. homemade booklets? Ok we don't do 24 pages of reading material but I find 4 to 8 page booklets are adequate.
  10. Yes , I hated to see Rocklahoma go this route but I guess they wanted to try a "modern" approach. I'll still be there with a bunch of Retrospect acts but it won't have the same impact as the pure 80s fest we've had in the past. There are some possibilities floating around now about the largest 80s Rock fest ever seen on the planet in 2011. Only plans right now but I'll keep everyone updated as news comes in. Most likely will be held in Southern Cal and initial ideas are talkin about 100 bands over 5 days.
  11. Hello everyone. Retrospect is very excited to officially announce our involvement in two major festivals this year. For the the third year in a row we are hosting our own stage at Rocklahoma. Rocklahoma is being held this year Memorial Day Weekend at the end of May. Entire line-up will be announced Monday and I tend to think it is going more "modern" but Rocklahoma has become our home away from home every year and we are happy to introduce bands like WILDSTREET , THE GLITTER BOYS (album release soon) , KRANK , FIRSTRYKE as well as many others yet to be announced to the music masses. We are absolutely THRILLED to be a part of the BEST one-day 80s event in the USA this year - of course I am speaking of the M3 Festival in Columbia , Maryland. This year's line-up includes Scorpions , Cinderella , Warrant , Vince Neil , Kix and a host of other bands from the greatest decade of rock n roll. While our introductory role is limited this year , the Retro crew will be out in full force with a large merchandise tent as well as the inclusion of one of our strongest selling acts MASS (Voices in the Night , New Birth , Take You Home , Crack of Dawn) being added to the roster. Hope to see you guys at one of the shows!! Sam McCaslin CEO - Retrospect Records , Inc. Owner - 101.9 FM St George , UT
  12. They just came in along with about 10 other releases - they will be up on the site very soon. New release post will be up soon too. Thanks!
  13. Hey thanks for the recommendation! What a great band - they sound like a mix of two other Retrospect bands - Fire with Fire and XL New York. I'm on it!!
  14. Hello everyone! We are very excited to announce our first venture into movie soundtracks! We have just secured exclusive rights with an independent film company to feature many Retrospect artists in an upcoming full-length feature titled "ONE BRIGHT MILE". Set in 1984 , it's a teen coming of age story featuring fast cars , teen hijinks and now a hot soundtrack!! Movie is set for release this Summer but I'll keep you updated as the final editing is complete.
  15. Sleaze? Hmmm... I think some other people should answer this question but I'd probably start with Alleycat Smile.

  18. It's either VALOR (U.S. Christian Metal band) , RUFFIANS (pre-Vicious Rumors) or WARHEAD (1984 New York-based band who released one EP demo).
  19. I didn't realize that Sheldon was singing for ICON. I knew they were active but didn't know who was singinng. Sheldon was the guy that was in Adler's Appetite after Jizzy Pearl, right? That is correct yes and what a hell of a job he did for Icon at Rocklahoma. I would highly recommend everyone to go check out the youtube footage of Icon at Rok. They were the best band I have EVER seen Live. Ever??????????? Come on now Sam you can't be serious. I'm not saying they weren't great live but greatest band ever? That's hard to believe. They were the best sounding band I have ever seen in a live setting. Absolutely. Pure energy , melody and Power.
