Have to say I was not initially blown away by the album, but after repeated listens there are actually a lot of good songs on this. I think the problem I had with it initially is the last new album I bought was Sophie Lloyd and that album was so instananeous for me, and after that if an album doesn't land straight away, I can kinda feel let down. Glad I gave this another shot.

She doesn't have the strongest voice either, which probably was a factor and took a bit of getting used to, but now I like it.

You can defo hear Paul Laines influence on some of the songs as well.

Danger, Walking on fire, Song for the broken hearted, Like I never loved you and Stand are the five songs he co-wrote.

So this is totally weird. I preordered the album from Amazon and they kept changing the delivery date, until it got to the point they said "we will let you know when it will be dispatched". There were copies available on marketplace, but charging over the odds. and as Amazon had let me download a copy I wasn't too fussed. I did go to a few other international Amazon sites and a few other sites that sell CDs, but it was either not available or overpriced. Looked on the Frontiers store and it is not even listed.

Over a month later Amazon has cancelled my order and said they will not be able to get hold of it.

As per usual, Frontiers never reply to any of the social media posts, so no idea what the fuck is going on with making this CD so hard to get.

Thanks. How the hell smaller traders can get copies and Amazon can't is beyond me. Said it before, but there is something crappy going on between Amazon and Frontiers as Amazon always gets their CDs later than everyone else. They are the only label that always ships late on there.

I was considering ordering a signed copy from her website, as it's about the same price as market place sellers are charging for unsigned, but of course postage nearly doubles the price. £21 for the CD, but £36 when you add in postage.

I really loved her album, but one of the things that stood out to me is her vocal style is rather unique and not going to be everyones cup of tea. Certainly talented, but I can see why some people would not be impressed. She just posted this cover and while I love the fact she is paying homage to the era we love, her voice just does not suit this song. The Saraya cover she did was brilliant, this one though just did not do it for me. Maybe some will like it, but as a fan of hers I gotta say I was hoping for better.

    • Acoustic version of 'You're Not Alone'.
    • New album 'New Life' out October 18th through Escape Music. From Escape Music: Matt Filippini is an Italian guitar player, rock songwriter and producer. After working with some local bands, he started to take it seriously when in 2001 he started to play some gigs in Italy during a masterclass tour of the legendary drummer Ian Paice (Deep Purple founder and current member since 1968 but also with Paul McCartney, Gary Moore and Whitesnake).  One year later, in 2003, after writing a bunch of rocking songs and recording a demo in his home studio, Matt gave a cd with the tracks to listen to Mr. Paice who liked the stuff and agreed to record the drum tracks for the songs. So after Ian Paice recorded three of the tracks, Matt asked Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, …) to record vocals for two of the songs. Those became Rose In Hell and Where Do You Hide The Blues You’ve Got, two of the most appreciated songs from the first Matt’s studio album, MOONSTONE PROJECT Time To Take A stand, released April 2006 on Majestic Rock Records. The album features other rock and roll gods like Carmine Appice, Steve Walsh of Kansas, Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult, Graham Bonnet of Rainbow and many more! The album, produced and written by Filippini himself, has been acclaimed by the music press with some great reviews and adored by thousands of classic rock fans from all over the World. From 2005 to 2008 Filippini played several gigs in Europe with his band and some very special guests like Ian Paice, Glenn Hughes, Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake) and Carmine Appice. In 2009 Matt released the second and final chapter of his Moonstone Project, Rebel on the Run, co-produced by Alessandro Del Vecchio. The album is more ”band sounding” than the 1st one, having the same singer for 9 of the 10 songs, the vocalist James Christian of House of Lords. In June 2009 the album was in the European top 10 rock chart just below Iron Maiden! Other highlights of Matt’s career include a jam session on stage with amazing USA rock giants Blue Oyster Cult, and in 2009 Matt played several gigs in Europe with Ian Paice and Glenn Hughes, as well as a two week tour of Spain with guitarist Bernie Marsden of Whitesnake. In 2010 Matt toured Spain and Italy with Carmine Appice., in September 2010 Matt he played a festival in Sardinia along with Roger Glover (Deep Purple), Bobby Kimball and Steve Lukather of Toto and Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath and Ronnie Dio).In 2011, Through the next few years he played with Deep Purple, Doogie White (Rainbow and Malmsteen) and Neil Murray (Whitesnake and brian May Band), as well as several gigs with Hughes and Paice. He has certainly been active these last few years! Matt is currently writing new songs for an upcoming solo album. The songs are going to be in the classic rock vein Matt loves with just a little touch of blues, funk and some acoustic atmosphere
