Saigon Kick

Dug my SK discs out to jam and wanted to relearn New World on the guitar, and started thinking what a fucking raw deal Jason Beiler gets, as far as complete guitarists go, he is absolutely at the top of the list, and even I forget and dont mention him when I add to best guitarists lists, I just always remember Harry Cody, LOL, but these guys were just different enough that it catches on, then Jason just absolutely shreds, especially on the debut, any other fans on here? I know they are a complete hit and miss band, but I completely dig them.

This is what I thought I read until I re-read your comment. I thought you'd lost your mind.

Like you say, hit and miss band, but there is some absolute gold on those first two albums. Amazing stuff on there. Gotta be totally honest and say I can't actually singularly remember the guitarwork, aside from appreciating that the dude could certainly play. Will have to re-associate myself with him/them.

I do enjoy Saigon Kick, I think the S/T is their best effort, then The Lizard, but it is about 2/3rds good and a third wtf?

I saw them at the then "Off Ramp" in good ole Seattle Washington when they toured to support The Lizard. It was a great show, very small club, few hundred people, Gruntruck opened, the band sounded better than on the albums.  I not only got a Jason guitar pick, but I got the 24"x30" poster from the venue rolled up in a tube in storage with all my other cool shit.

Anyone else ever notice or care that when SK recorded "Peppermint Tribe" alongside Saddletramp. Sure they are different but similar enough to be really weird and they both came out in '92.

Couldn't find the isolated track but it is song 4 starts at 13:09.
