I just noticed these guys aren't on this site and found it curious as I'd assume they'd be up some people's alleys (the likes of Jez and Bernd perhaps?). I've heard a bunch of songs from these guys; mostly terrible sound quality, and to be honest they're not that great. They probably would have been okay with a decent producer, but there's one song I absolutely love from their collection (from 1986), which is this one:

Just sort I'd post it because I assume others will love it too.

Another pretty cool one is this one:

Their discography seems to look a little like this:

Forever (1983)

Some Like It Hot EP (1985)

3 by 5 EP (1986)

I'd be interested to know people's thoughts and experiences with this band.

So good you posted it twice??

Oh did I? I only saw it once. My computer chose that moment (as I was posting it) to fuck up, as it does. ;)

There is a rare 17 track compilation CD that was released in 1999 on a tiny indie label of the USA. Originally recorded between 1982 and 1986 and previously available only on LP, this CD compilation includes tracks from their first album, "BSA", which was a hard edged pop rocker with a couple of decent tunes and some nice guitar work. Then with the second, "Some Like It Hot", came a change in image and sound, with the tunes taking on a more straight ahead melodic rock stance, but still with pop rock sensibilities helped by the keys being noticeably higher up in the mix. The third is a 3 track ep ("3 X 5") of fine Aor, that showed a marked improvement in songwriting and vocals, with Bill Blake taking the mic on all the tracks, and original member Gary Spaniola (guitar/vocals) sitting it out, contributing to the production only. (he's produced all the albums). That's pretty much what I can tell you about this band and the 3 albums.

Oh, I forgot.....the track list for the album is as follows:

(BSA)
Don't You Leave Me
Last To Know
Time To Move
Forever
I Can't Find The Words
She's Gotta Change
Hold On To Me
Didn't Feel A Thing
Turn It Up

(SOME LIKE IT HOT)
Crossin Over
Runnin
Stop Spinnin Me Round
Hold Me Down
Some Like It Hot

(3X5)
Don't Know How To Tell You
Till It's Over
From Now On

Cool, thanks for the info! The MP3s I have for are unlabelled, but I'm 99% sure that's what I have. The sound quality is poor but I wonder if that's more the quality of the MP3's than the album itself.

It's worth noting that the original masters weren't saved after they were pressed to vinyl. The 1999 CD is a vinyl-to-CD transfer that the band put together for charity. It's been filtered a bit. It doesn't sound great but I've heard worse.

If you're mp3s sound really bad, maybe you found bad vinyl rip from somebody else. If you could post one, I could compare it to what I got.

    • Ok Cody, It was 41 vs 330. It's now 63 vs 335, so we're making ground, but you need to fire up and make some contributions. It's your thread and that's what you're hanging by at the moment with the big guy.

To access the free download or preview the song, click here: https://www.fuzzrd.com/sleazeroxx/.   FuZZrd guitarist and vocalist Brett Petrusek shares, “Pins and Needles is a personal favorite. It's a song about loss and the overwhelming feeling of anxiety that can often ensue. If you've ever felt so wound up that your skin is crawling you may relate. For me, it's sonically intriguing, it's mysterious and the chorus hits just right. It's wickedly fun to play on guitar, too!" The debut album can be pre-ordered at a discounted price here: https://fuzzrd.limitedrun.com. The band will perform the day following release day alongside Johnny O' Neil (of Dare Force fame) and up and comers, The Issue at The Southern Theatre in Minneapolis, MN. Tickets for the appearance can be purchased by visiting https://southerntheater.org/. Petrusek reflects, “I'm so very proud of what we have accomplished this past year. It's gratifying to see and hear Near Life Experience in its completed form. It's a powerhouse and definitely fits in the category of ‘album I've always wanted to make’. The chemistry with our producer Jeremy Tappero continued to flourish and we all grew as musicians. I love the songs and sound we've created. It's fresh, and new, and noticeably doesn't chase trends. It stays true to its heavy rock roots. It's so awesome to be a part of FuZZrd coming to life, playing live shows, and sharing our music. The whole of what we have created is truly rewarding. I'm totally grateful to have this group." Bassist and background vocalist Robert Berg states, “Substance of structure. A collection of songs that in my view captures what's truly important for fans of multigenerational hard rock. I love the upfront guitars and inspired solos. There's a maturity in the vocal melodies that catapults the meaningful lyrical content. It was inspiring to witness. Every member brought what was necessary; when necessary. I believe we just barely dipped our toes into what's possible with our current guitar duo's musical chemistry. Special, special, special thanks to Producer Jeremy Tappero. I tell him all the time that my favorite moments in life are sitting in the chair next to him and laying it down. He's a true mentor who seemingly always knows what's right for the band. Brett is quite forward thinking and never short of ideas. FuZZrd will build on the experience and continue to make the rock pound." Guitarist and background vocalist Eric Fairchild offers, “Discovering the chemistry and camaraderie of FuZZrd has been the highlight of a truly chaotic year and a half. Being able to connect and collaborate on new music has been so fulfilling. I’m really proud of the work we’ve put in, and the album that has emerged as a result. The songs on Near Life Experience have been able to capture so many feelings that have been otherwise difficult to express. Plus, it’s always fun to tear it up on the guitar! I’m thrilled to get these songs in front of audiences, and continue to build on what we’ve started." Drummer Scott Savage adds, "I could not be happier with the new record; and it could not have happened without everyone’s dedication and hard work. It’s so gratifying to have this finished product and be able to share with everyone! I’m so proud of my band mates and what we have accomplished. We are definitely fired up about what the future holds for us!" For more information contact: Steve Karas SKH Music -  skaras@skhmusic.com
    • I'm digging this song.  Good stuff.  Background vocals don't bother me at all here.
    • Yeah, my apologies for not checking there first.  Figured H.E.A.T fans that frequent this section would be interested.
