I don't know if this has been discussed before. A quick search tells me it has not, but, well, it was a quick search.

So this might get shot down quicker than it takes me to type this up, but what would you (Dan, primarily; moderators, secondarily; and the rest, lastly and certainly least-ly) say about adding a lyrics feature on the main site? I was thinking having a pop-up window, when you click on a song title, with the lyrics, much like when you click to "See All Ratings" or the 'lists.' There are many times I've searched for lyrics for obscure artists on those pages, and found nothing. Most of us have access to those albums and liner notes.

I understand it would be a big undertaking, and some songs, likely, won't have printed lyrics, but I believe it would be a great additional feature that could draw more new visitors to the site, and even the forums. We would submit lyrics in the same way we submit other artist and album information.

This is something I've thought about for a few years, but never mentioned, because I'm expecting it to be rejected. But, what the hell. Might as well get some closure, so-to-speak.

It's not a bad idea but, (1) there are plenty of lyric websites alrady out there and (2) do you have any idea how much labor would be involved in inputting the lyrics?... that would be in addition to coming up with a suitable mechanism for storing, accessing, and searching the lyrics.

Most importantly, posting an artist's lyrics involves far more copyright entanglements than I'm willing to get into. It's akin to posting music samples from musicians, a road I've already gone down with ASCAP and BMI, which is why I only post samples on the main site from bands and labels that submit material directly.

In a word: nope.

Sorry.

Yeah, this is what I feared. But a lot of sites are user submitted and edited, so it had me wondering what the law actually states.

Oh, well.

At least you tried.

Like X-tasy? Is that what it was called? The female vocal fronted band from this year that is supposedly sung in English, but I'm 99% sure it's actually Portugese.

Like Dan said before the copyright thing, though... can you image the labor and effort that would go into something like this? I wouldn't wish it on Karpet Face... uh, I mean my worst enemy. ;)

Do I have to separate you two??

No. The Pacific Ocean has already done that.

As well as your inability to just step to me. I'm here. Just waiting.

Featuring their two Music For Nations albums, ‘Young And Crazy’ and ‘Bezerk’. Plus singles, rarities and live cuts. Forming in Cardiff in Wales in the mid-1980s, with Steevi Jaimz on vocals, Jay Pepper on lead guitar, Pepsi Tate on bass and Ace Finchum on drums Tigertailz recorded their snotty and street smart debut ‘Young And Crazy’ in 1987. Signing to influential heavy metal label, Music For Nations (Metallica, RATT), their first record is considered a classic of 1980s British glam and hair metal. As Wales’s answer to Mötley Crüe, through songs such as ‘Shoot To Kill’ and ‘Livin' Without You’, they found fans in the pages of Kerrang! and Sounds, the most influential rock and metal magazines of the time. The band found commercial success with the more radio friendly and commercially orientated ‘Bezerk’ in 1990, propelled into the Top 40 album charts by the single ‘Heaven’, plus the bubblegum classic ‘Love Bomb Baby’, a song that has become their calling card. Produced by Chris Tsangarides, the main change in the band for ‘Bezerk’ was Kim Hooker replacing original singer Steevi Jaimz on vocals. No slouches when it came to releasing singles and EPs, CD3 of this three disc set is a treasure trove of rarities and non-album cuts, kicking off with the ‘Shoot To Kill' EP, plus live versions of ‘Nine Livez’ and ‘She'z Too Hot’. Jump to December 2022 and a new dawn arose for Tigertailz, including a shows with Steel Panther, plus brand new singles. ‘Love Bomb Baby’ reignited interest in the band when it was used by famed Hollywood director James Gunn in his Peacemaker TV series for HBO. The band continues to show their diversity with their latest releases in 2024, ‘A Little Bit Of Rock’, proving there's more than just hairspray and eyeliner to these Welsh maniacs!
    • I have submitted all three albums anyway. The debut really is just modern rock. The second album I feel is the heaviest but still melodic enough. The third album though I think is the perfect middle ground.
