Found these guys a coupla weeks back. At that time, their EP was only available via download, but you can get it in CD form now!

Check 'em out on their Myspace page, and at their regular home page: http://www.nightbynight.co.uk/

You can order their EP on their site; non European customers be sure to choose the "overseas" option. ;)

Not too shabby at all. Very well produced, polished, melodic hard rock. I would have preferred a little more "bite" to them, but they do what they do pretty well. Some nice harmony vox going on which is always a good thing.

Love it. Ordered it. I'm glad to see this in the Hard Rock/AOR section as although they have a slight modern sound (as with any new band), this is pure Melodic Hard Rock. Very nice find here. The best part is the EP came to just AU $11.30 including overseas postage. I love the band logo as well.

Nice stuff indeed. Very impressed with the sound of the whole thing for an indie. May invest in a copy of this one.

Good to see there's a physical copy of this out there now. :) Good stuff. Did I make an awesome thread about these guys a while back, when it was digital only? I will check...

Sorry Cousin but I don't remember a thread about these guys.

 So why the change of heart from Jez and Chris? I'm curious to hear the tunes now to see what changed. :)

I didn't hear the tunes last time so I wouldn't know but these songs do sound good to me.

I really didn't change my tune. They're good, but not quite good enough to hunt down a copy of imo. Maybe I was a little harsh in that old thread calling them generic though. I'm always a fan of good backing vocals. But, a touch better songwriting and a little more bite, and then we'd be on to something. Maybe their next one will be the killer. But again, these guys do what they do well and plenty on here I'm sure will be adding this to their collection. Heck, if somebody wanted to give me a copy for free, I might too, lol.

Yeah, I'll take a free copy too. :) Otherwise I'll be waiting for the full album.

My first impression may have been a little harsh, although now having played the songs on loop for an hour or so and blasting them through my ace speakers here at home, instead of the tinny crap ones I have at work everything sounds 200% better and the songs are better now than my first impression. My comments on the 'Best Band to come out of England' comment or whatever foolishness was writen at the time still stands though. ;)

  • 1 month later...

Just heard the newer EP... wowser. That is excellent. Even better than the first few songs they had available on myspace. Man I hope these guys get a full album out there asap.

    • I've never heard of them, but Yes comparisons have piqued my interest.
    • What? Now you need to be Christian to appreciate nature? You serious, mate? My two greatest passions are landscape photography and surfing and all that being in nature provides. I live every day in awe of the natural world around us (outside of cities) and that has zero to do with any type of God.
    • One of the only times I will ever say I don't like the gang background vocals.
    • Yesterday Is Gone - Place Vendome
    • President Joe Biden's approval ratings have hit an all-time low for him at 36%, which is worse than former Presidents Trump and Obama ever had in office.
    • Really looking forward to this one.  I ordered the (2) CD set.  I already have the original TFAWIUTB.
    • No atheist denies love is a thing. It has chemicals that make it happen but that closeness between human beings is clearly a thing and it feels good. It's also an essential part of pair bonding and the raising of the next generation.  You believe in life after death. I do too. I look at it every time I see my children. My part of the cycle of life ends when I stop puffing though.
    • When it comes down to it, it is the love that matters. I feel the love of Christ in my life. I feel the certainty that He loves me. An atheist says that does not exist, it's imaginary. You even deny love to even be a thing, it's a chemical, it has no meaning. You walk outside, you see trees, you hear birdsong, and it means nothing. I see beauty everywhere I go, the beauty of Christ and His creation. I know beauty can be corrupted. I know evil exists. I know there is death. That is free will, baby. A person chooses to do what they do. Do I care if you believe what I know to be true to my core of being? No, not really. It's like someone saying to me "Def Leppard's Pyromania sucks". I know the music moves me and I love it. With Christ in my life it is that feeling x 1000. If it angers you that I have this love, as it seems to for some here, I can only apologise. It would be like not breathing to deny it. If that hurts your feelings cause once upon a time some church or Christian hurt you, I can just say, don't blame God for the followers. Evil appears in every element. Humans are fallible. Humans do bad shit. I am only responsible for my own soul. Do I want God to come down and intervene in every evil? Hell no. I love that we are free to choose. Forcing someone to love you is not love. Also, how about people be responsible for what they choose to do rather than blame God? You say there is nothing but death and darkness at the end. I know this is just a plane of existence and death has lost its sting. Again, I stress, I don't care if you agree or not. I'm not here to judge you. You are free to choose. I just ask for the same courtesy that you accept I don't share your views and that you can move past your hatred for that choice (not all on this site, just some).
    • Probably the wisest thing said on this thread.  Realistically, we're all in this position.
