I just wanted to give a shot out to MARTINSON for may who don't know him hes an incrediable knowlegdable person out rock music especially the northeast but better than the Seattle music scene. And for the ones that don't know him hes a great trader imho the best on the board here me and MARTINSON have been trading for years and what we trade are indies for indies his usual batch of cds are Seattle area indies which I probably would never find here in the desert southwest and that brings me to another point the cds I get are incrediable so many examples of fine indie rock the lastest being an indie from Seattle by a band called LUST PUPPY a great indie thrash metal that would rival some of the more well known thrash bands and I have gotten many more top shelve indies. MARTINSON also started a thing he called GENTLEMANS CORNER some of us here on HH have taken up MARTINSON on his list but alot of great indie music is not. What I'm saying take a chance and trade something on his list mainly one of his indies and youll be suprised how good the music is and to see what you been missing! And finally I been up up to cd hunting in Seattle the last 2 years hopfully this year can be number 3 I came who with 200+ indie cds both times and finding lots of gems one that stands out well I'll give MARTINSON credit for since he found it was PHAROH "ON YOUR KNEES" mint condition for .85 cents and MARTINSON was a great host as well as his wife and 2 childern were very nice as well

And as James said... you people here really ought to give some of the lesser known indies a try. From my trading with Terry I discovered a CD I never would have otherwise known. The band is HelloGoodbye, the CD is called "Stranger Things Have Happened". I've spun this a couple times a month for the last year or so. Terry is always full of unknown goodies.

 

I just hope this thread doesn't hinder me from getting some of those CDs others don't usually take chances on. So keep in mind... I will still get first dibs.

Released in 1998... Not the modern band. I think these guys are from Washington State (though not sure).

Staryder, not to get on a tangent, but who does Lust Puppy sound like? What's the CD called, year? Don't tell me they sound like Testament or sumthin, love that kinda thrash.........
