  1. This 3 piece from Copenhagen can totally jam. Solid hard rock with a few modern elements. Apparently this is there first single, so let's hope they plod along and get some other material done. https://www.facebook.com/ivycrowncph/
  2. As for the last 2 guesses Van Halen and the almighty Dio. Well I've seen both but we will get a few bonus bands off the list as a result. First Halen I saw as part of the Monsters of Rock how in the Seattle King Dome JUly 27th 1988 and that show brought not only the Hagar fronted VH (of note I have seen DLR on the Eat Em and Smile tour with Sheehan and Vai) who were excellent Sammy is a sound singer an guitar player and the band played all the hits and a slew of Hagar tunes. Also on this bill we're Kingdom Come, Dokken, Metallica and the Scorpions. All the bands played well and covered their best tunes. The Scorps did a short set as Klaus was hit with a bottle and told everyone to fuck off after three songs. Not to worry as I saw full sets of the Scorps on their own supporting the live album and Love at First Sting. I have seen Metallica and Dokken prior as well. KC was a pleasant surprise even though they only had the one record I was enjoying Get It On at the time. The worse thing was the show started at noon and was way too long getting over at midnight. As for Dio, well I saw him supporting the Killing The Dragon release September 11th 2002 at the Showbox and for those that don't have that record or that haven't seen Dio, get the album it's amazing and I'm sorry. Dio was amazing. For a small venue he had pulled out all the pyro and lights and even had a massive dragon. As Glen mentioned he is a little dude and he did throw a million horns but that's his thing and the crowd expected and ate it up like it was the last supper. Dio wore the black silk fringed jump suit and he was the most grateful and appreciative performer I have ever seen. Aldrich is a mofo on guitar too! During the show some dude waved a stack of records and a sharpy at him and he smiled had the guy hand him the pen and manage the next record shuffle and Dio signed them all with a massive smile and a thank you. I wish I would have bought the disc at the show as there was autographed ones available for a mere $20. Excellent show and ALL your faves from the catalog. Kings X opened whom I've seen a dozen times and simply love and loved their set as well, even though they did a quick 20 minutes as the opener. Of note Hammerfall was on the bill but didn't show for the Seattle show, lame o's. Updated list, its getting shorter. 3. To the chagrin of Jez I have seen Poison a couple times. Look What The Cat Drqgged In with Ratt and again with Tesla as the opener, Say what you will Poison puts on a hell of a show, consummate performers. Ratt was fair to midland of note Stephens big show opening jump kick landed him flat on his arse. Tesla as everyone should know crush period.
  4. Some very impressive Finnish melodic hard rock/metal with some tasteful proginess. Lost for Life released in January of 2017, this is their 1st long play but an EP Evantide from'13 is out and about. http://www.burnclear.com/
  5. Its nice. I still wish they would crush some more covers as those first two, mostly the first were pretty near perfect records.
  6. Fastway will get a bonus scratch off the list as well as I saw them as a support act to AC/DC on October 13th 1983 in the Tacoma Dome. AC/DC was supporting the Flick of the Switch album and they were at the top of their game at this time. All the canons and Angus on Brian's shoulders wondering about the arena, Angus dropping trough and showing his bum. From what I understand this is the last time AC/DC have performed This House Is On Fire as during this song some kid shot a flare into the dome's ceiling, of course we thought it part of the show and only found out the next day in the papers that it wasn't. Fastway opened the show and they were of course riding the wave of Say What You Will which was getting a good amount of radio play, we knew every tune as we snatched the S/T up straight away and memorized it all based on the lead off single. Fastway did not disappoint and I recall Dave King humming his hat into the crowd after about 30 seconds and of course the checker board muscle shirts that a good many fans bought. Quiet Riot was the middle band at this show and they were monstrous as well as they were full on popular supporting Mental Health which was a couple singles deep at this point and they had people going for them as much as for the headliner. 7. He he. You guys know me sooo well. SO I will give you a freebie or two on those guesses, but alas all three are wrong. I saw House of Lords on April 9th 1991 at the Paramount theater when they opened up for the Nelson brothers. Nelson of course was ridiculously amazing and I will never forget how they ended the show with the Bill and Ted's Powertool track 2 Heads Are Better Than 1. HOL were great as well even though I was not all that familiar with them, so Geoff you are a little right as they were a supporter and certainly not who I went to see. I saw the Stones in the gulp Kingdom of all places prior to its implosion on November 28th 1997. Third Eye Blind opened this one and I was not impressed and quite bummed to not see a cool band as the opener. The Stones were cool as cool as they always are and played all the hits plus. As for Vain I saw them in Seattle with Talks Cheap in 1990. I obviously went to support my pal Jim's band and Vain just happened to be there. I recall Davy Vain giving us all copies of the cassette as we all partied like mad. Beat The Bullet was on MTV at the time and I didn't think much of Vain then and obviously that first impression carried through for the next 30 years. 8. Its not? And nope saw MLB only once though November 17th 1988 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle Washignton and as you would expect Landrew and company were amazing. A true talent was lost in that young man for sure. One of my all time favorite bands to this day. Nice. I never saw them You are gonna need to keep the list updated otberwise it will get well confusing..... 2nd guess : The Ranch Simply because i have no idea who they are I saw the Ranch a couple different times in 1997, once at a big festival at the Gorge at St George and a second smaller college gymnasium event. For those not familiar The Ranch is an or was an Aussie country rock band that launched everyone's favorite guitarist Keith Urban into stardom. Both shows were very impressive and if your OK with a little twang in your rock The Ranch's one and only release is a good one and the live shows were excellent. Keith is a hell of a performer and slays on the guitar. 9. So here is my review of this one. The review is another in a list of bands not suitable for a certain site that I am giving up on entirely but that is another story for another time. Warning! What follows is a review. A review that will push the boundaries a bit. A review of a Cullman, Alabama band (yep, southern US) that should if properly received (no blinders kiddo's), cause incessant head nodding, toe tapping and good ole' air guitaring even in the ficklest of listeners. The band of merry 20 sumthings calls themselves Shallow Side and they have bum rushed 2017 with an appropriately titled 6 track EP One. Now apparently Shallow Side has been mulling about since 2010 honing their "signature" sound of combining today's modern arena rock with that of the more southern fried ilk. To further paint the picture for those who haven't already dropped to the bottom of this post and ran through the bands lead off single Rebel a couple hundred times, imagine if you will Travis Tritt incantor Bo Bice wailing over the top of some Filter? Feather in some tasteful keyboards, a couple drop beats and a banjo or ten and you see that Shallow Side has taken the influences of there geographic location (southern fried and 70's arena rock and of course country music) and being youngsters smashing that into what they are hearing on the modern rock radio stations (Drowning Pool, Saving Abel, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace et al). Now speaking to the tunes and glossing over the southern fried hard rock lead off single track 2 Rebel which we spoke to a moment ago, the lead off track has a nice radio friendly Luke Bryant modern country rock vibe that could EASILY play well on any new country radio station, which we all know is southern fried pop rock anyways. Track three is the Styx classic Renegade 2017 reboot. The Shallow Side version stays fairly true to form with the addition of some modern twists and turns to keep the kids interested and something for the purist hipsters to belly ache about (remember them blinders we spoke to earlier). Renegade was endorsed by Tommy Shaw and for good reason as its a great cover. So far we have been playing through some well played albeit safe and radio friendly modern country/southern rock n roll. Well Fight Or Flight spins 180 and is a full on modern rock song with mammoth drums, Linkin Park inspired DJ'ing (or keyboard effects) and de-tuned heavy guitars, singer Eric B even loses that twang and goes "clean" and heavy for his screaming vocals on this one. Can You Hear me reverts to a southern flared cut, the slide guitar in the main riff is infectious, however this one is more modern hard rock and the verse has a very huge arena sing song chorus that will have all the young ladies brandishing there cell phones to light the arenas up. Tailing up the EP is Start A Fire and its a tech'd out hard rock number dialed back with a candy coating of southern drawl to remind us that Shallow Side isn't just a college radio frat party flash in the pan modern rock outfit, but an eclectic influenced and quite original southern fried modern hard rock band. Wrapping up, Shallow Side will certainly get poo poo'd by narrow minded listeners and those that can't see past their own noses (or around them blinders), but for those that appreciate young talent, creativity and well played original music, they will certainly be entertained and the EP One will play through real nicely at those summer BBQ's on the horizon that your whole extended family/crew will be attending and then wondering what station you are playing through your iPod that covers modern country, old school 70's arena rock and modern hard rock and doing so without losing a listener. Forecasts call for a long play later this year and if Shallow Side can keep the momentum of One, especially with that countrified modern hard rock mash up I will be listening. 10. Nice looks like the Damaged disc is out Friday May 12th according to their FB page. https://www.facebook.com/RatchetDollsofficial/ Here is a new track with a super sound quality! http://www.ratchetdolls.com/
  11. Well I will agree with Geoff on the vocals which are simply painful, but the music is fine and with a singer the tunes might be good. Wow and not even noteworthy sexy. Shame.

  14. OK, number 2 guess BOD. Not recalling correctly but maybe you hate this band?
  15. Eclectic mix, so no clue but I will guess Tuff. Can't imagine them getting any backing to go your way...
  16. This one was always intriguing to me as it is a killer song, but alas a cover of a fairly unknown song.
  17. Cool, maybe I'll get this one. Never did hear any more form the post above from 2012 though...
  18. Bullocks. Is it a trick question? Choice #3 EZN?
  19. Excellent choice and quite frankly there isn't any Nelson song that is overlooked in the martinsane camp.
  20. So here are a few that always satisfy and what I would consider damn near perfect (come to think of it this would be a killer mix tape):
