Hhhmm, now I am wondering which version I have? Pretty sure it was Siren, but equally I am 5% wrong most of the times, so? This one took a minute to seep in as at the time of acquiring it was a little lackluster for me, but i has improved with my age. Would like to revisit it (and many others), sigh. Some day.

So I just revisited one of my all time favorite films That Thing You Do!, you may recall the 1996 Tom Hanks vehicle that portrays the early 60's Pennsylvania youngsters that stumble into greatness with the saccharine laced title track to the film. Anyways the film is brilliant and the soundtrack is even better, but after a little post film Googling I find out that Adam Schlesinger passed away last April (2020) due to complications from COVID, he was 52. Now for those not hep Adam was a really prolific multi instrumentalist and founding member of THE Fountains of Wayne as well as on this topic a key song writer with Tom Hanks and he penned That Thing You Do. I wanted to start a thread praising the film, the bad ass cast and the songs but now it has turned into a more of a somber celebration of a talented guy that we lost far to soon. I was always a very big fan of FOW and now I am sad. RIP Adam, keep doin' that thing you do...

Not familiar with them but I like that song a bunch. In doing a little searching the lamest site in known free world Metal Archives (Metal Posuers) shows all 3 of their releases. Nothing on Discogs so if you can get all 3 records (CD's) get them for me would you!

I usually spend a couple 4 hours (or waay more) a week just noodling around on Youtube and came across a really shitty flip phone recording of them and then kept poking about and found this cut from their EP and the rest is history. I too am trying to get the EP (their FB says sold out) and I want a t-shirt as well. Couldn't agree more on the logic as well. It amazes me that a handful of kids that can barely vote and certainly can't by beer are making a quality recordings of music that is 3 times older than they are.

Was hooked from that opening riff and the production is amazing, so much snap in that kick drum, well done. They remind me of Merciful Fate/King Diamond of which could you imagine like say Abigail with this mix, woof. Really good stuff and another solid post DP.

All 3 of those songs are stunning. I'm smitten with everything other than the absolutely lazy comparisons in the overview. This band sounds nothing like AC/DC, Aerosmith or GnR. Sammy Hager? WTF. They are more Motley (as heard throughout Suckerpunch and the Kickstart My Heart chorus), Tora Tora, Tesla, Dangerous Toys and Salty Dog imho. Regardless they are bad ass and I am in like fucking Flynn. And the production is ridiculous, that bottom end is staggering, luv it! Thanks for sharing.

Your not alone their big guy, seems samey for me, but that's OK, I'll try most things and have a pretty open mind with tunage. I am diving into more of this Ivan "meathook" kids stuff, more to come on that as I digest it all as he is pretty prolific.
