Yeah good point, that's probably true. Who'd have thought that out of a band like Creed, you'd get albums like the 3 from Alter Bridge and then this....

New Way Out is awesome! Probably tracks 5-8 are the best, but the last 2 give them a run for their money too. 'Doesnt Matter' in particular is great. Also tracks 2 & 3 just blow my mind - killer heavy stuff The solo on "Leave it Alone" is killer stuff and has a nice catchy chorus. "So You're Afraid" ups the ante in heaviness but gets melodic in the chorus. Don't forget how good the last track "Decay" is. That tune is killer and so is "Proof" and "Brains". Yeah there's not a song I don't like. "Doesn't Matter" is a killer melodic tune (great riffs too), but I'm still gonna go with "New Way Out" for sheer emotion and songwriting prowess. Should be a "Watch Over You"-type megahit IMHO.

This magazine is shit. It's a waste of money. Sure they might have a diverse set of reviews and musical tastes, but most of the reviewers are illiterate and incompetent, and the interviews are utterly pointless and filled with irrelevant trivia. DON'T BUY IT!

I'm surprised at the fairly-flat response of the mainstream press to this one. To me it's truly immense....

This is awesome. Been on constant repeat all weekend. Great vocals (he can't compete with the range and power of Kennedy IMO, but his barratone really suits this material - maybe even more so than Kennedy's does) and stunning guitar. Biggest thing for me was the sheer quality of the song-writing and choruses on here. Only one or two that let the side down, with the rest being right up there with the AB3 disc (but obviously a bit crunchier). "New Way Out" is my new favourite song too. A top 5 disc for me.

Glad you like that one, good disc. Not as good as his killer "Lift" album IMO but back-to-form...

When I saw the topic "Great news for Geoff" I just immediately thought that maybe someone had invented a cure for premature ejaculation - but this news is equally as good.

You still buy Powerplay mag? I occasionally flick-through it when I see it in the shop (I'd never buy it) and it always amazes me. It amazes me that people with zero journalistic ability can actually make cash out of writing.

Given that the things I really hate about BVB are the vocalist and the stupid image (and the tunes that lack big hooks), I might check this out...

I tend to post anything anywhere. I rarely look at the title of the thread and just post stuff. If you look back where stuff has gone way off-topic it's often little-ole-me that's kicked it off. Is just how I roll.

Is that cinema or sky ? Blue-ray (from Blockbusters) Awesome film. The plane-crash sequence is unbelievable, and the ending is epic... I know I'm missing the point, but this would just annoy me as my OCD would make me keep thinking, "but wolves would never hunt people". Not if you're sitting in your lounge watching a film, maybe. But if you're plane crashed in the far Northern Hemisphere (during winter) then I'm guessing - if they'd explored all the smaller and easier to catch prey - you'd be fair game.

THE GREY Liam Neeson in a horror/thriller about plane-crash survivors being hunted by a pack of wolves. Standard story-line, but the best film I've seen all year by some margin. Watch it.

Yes you should mate. Be very surprised if you don't like either of their last 2 discs. One of the best modern rock bands (though it's very lite modern rock) in existence IMO...

Myles is definitely using the high register on this one and sounds different to AB. He does take it too far sometimes IMO so can understand some would find it irritating. Some great tunes on this...
