  1. Seeing this thread made me think immediately of Motley Crue's Like A Virgin remake.... Worst song my ears have experienced in a long time.
  2. Basically +1. I kinda liked the Born to Fly tune but have never really been into this band previously. I did check the album out on spotify and liked a couple tunes...basically Born to Fly and Brokenhearted Daydream.... but nowhere near enough to consider buying it.
  3. Agree 100%. For me, this "Def Lep" Tesla album is much more interesting and sounds much better than the past few Tesla albums. To my ears this is the best Tesla has sounded in quite some time. Just a lot of stuff going on with a big sound.....and Jeff Keith really sounds great IMO. I'm liking this album. My only real complaint is just that I think it loses steam in the middle with the run of slower tempo songs. But it does pick back up again and finishes pretty strong. My favorites are probably You Won't Take Me Alive, Taste Like and Tied To The Tracks. Definitely a little different but something to hold me over a bit until Crazy Lixx comes out
  4. That sounds great.....Ken has a fantastic voice and I dig hearing him singing a heavier tune. If he were doing vocals on every track I'd be all over this. Probably won't be picking up this release though. I'm generally not real fond of these types of project CD's that have multiple guys singing and it looks like this is the only song that features Ken on vocals.
  5. Just wanted to say that I Tunes Japan has samples up for all songs on this if anybody is inclined to check 'em out. Can be tough judging stuff from samples sometimes but sure sounding great to me.....Seems to pick up right where Ruff Justice left off IMO.
  6. Found this song on YT that they've been playing live....You Won't Take Me Alive. Now this sounds more like it to my ears even with bad quality. Not sure why they wouldn't release this as a single instead of this California Summer Song. I'd think this is closer to what people want Tesla to sound like than the song above.
  7. Another song released. Probably my least favorite of the 3 so far. Seems like a poor outtake of Kid Rocks All Summer Long song. I actually don't hate it as much as I probably should lol. Hopefully it was just something that was different than everything on the album so that's why they chose to release it. Not sure what kind of fan this is aimed at though.
  8. Seems decent to my ears. The first song didn't really grab me much but like the second song. And those other tunes don't sound too bad. Might keep eyes on this.
  9. I agree. It's decent but but not sure either song is grabbing me enough to make me want to purchase this. I've also listened to samples of all songs over on I Tunes Japan and kinda felt the same about what I listened to. I think what's missing for me is that I'd just like to see more vocal harmonies with bigger choruses, backing vocals, etc. It's decent for what it is though....Straight ahead, guitar driven rock. I feel pretty much how Glen felt above about the first track....Pretty well played and well sung but not very spectacular or memorable.
  10. Agree.. freaking awesome tune! Can't wait for this album to drop.
  11. Yes, I think they are still with Frontiers as the Frontiers web guy was plugging it in a recent live video on FB. Of course he wouldn't say anything bad about it but said he had heard it and it was awesome. I think his comment was something like that it was highly crankable, summer with the top down throwback music
  12. Yeah, would be betting it's the first single from the new album. And the album will probably still be April or May release. Can't wait though!
  13. I'm with you here. Neither works for my tastes at all.
  14. Honestly, I haven't been a huge Whitesnake fan over the years for whatever reason. I dug them a bit back in the late 80's but they've mostly been off my radar. That said, kinda like this tune. Fun song and agree it has a classic Whitesnake vibe to it.
  15. Yep....This one is high on my watch list for 2019....Will be a blind pre-order when it launches. These guys just really have a unique sound to my ears with the way they combine pop and rock elements and what Robin's voice brings to the mix. Still feel like they're a pretty underrated band.
  16. Good tune! I like We're Gonna Make It To The End also.....Sounds great with Erik singing it.
  17. Another tune released. I suspect many may not like these new tunes if they're wanting a classic Tesla sound. Personally, I'm a bit on the fence but still kinda liking it for something different. Probably helps that I'm a Leppard fan that likes overproduced stuff
  18. I'm with you on this one. Decent sound but I just don't like the vocals and nothing really grabbed me.
  19. I appreciate reading all the lists I can....always helps me find people with similar tastes and maybe discover some music I was unaware of. I've discovered a lot of music in recent years solely because somebody else shared something or I saw somebody else talking about it and checked it out. It's pretty obvious that a lot of time went into those lists and there is a whole bunch of stuff on those lists I haven't even got around to checking out. Love digging into lists like that to find a hidden gem I missed.
  20. I'm probably in the minority here as I know many liked that debut but was the exact opposite for me. I thought the debut was okay but I liked the heavier, modernized direction they went for on album #2. I'll have eyes on this one.
  21. Would be the songs I'd list also. Really dig Electric Rider...And My Sanctuary sounds like a lost Guns N Roses tune....excellent stuff. Basically, I really like the first half of the album and then it loses some steam for me in the last 3-4 songs. Have never been into these guys and this is the first album I've really given any attention to. I'm thinking I'll probably just pick up their greatest hits album that came out a couple years ago to hit on the rest of their highlights.
  22. One of the positives of getting older is that I won't have to deal with the whole streaming thing for too very long and I'm glad I was around when music was a physical product. I just loathe the whole streaming thing. Spotty bluetooth connections, annoying ads, randomly playing stuff I don't want to hear, having to fumble around trying to find specific stuff in my digital library while driving, compressed, low quality tin can sounds....Really not much good to say about it.
  23. I have a tough time responding to this....Mostly because I know what I like and generally aren't buying or listening to stuff I don't like. I guess one that sticks out for me is the Dallas disc. I thought I'd really like that but found it pretty terrible outside of a couple songs.
  24. Heard this album....I was initially a bit on the fence after the first two songs...Thought they were okay and I kinda liked Forever Out Of Place. Well, after hearing it I feel like those two first songs are clearly the best on the album and the rest is all downhill. Lots of modern-ish effects ....Not really very melodic, not really very heavy....Not really very AOR. I'm not sure who this is really geared towards. I guess mostly it's very Nickelback-ish. No longer on the fence....easy pass.
