  1. I'm not sure anybody ever said it would be a throwback to the first two albums though. I remember reading band member quotes saying they were going for a melodic rock album somewhere between ATN and TDTW. And I think that describes this track perfectly. It's kinda like a cross between Better Off Alone and Emergency or something. Either way, it doesn't matter....It's just damn good
  2. Can safely say I won't be buying this. And these guys are probably off my radar. I might even toss their last CD up on Ebay as I rarely listen to it.
  3. I'm also on that page. I think for me I never really paid much attention to these guys until Address The Nation came out and got into that big time. Then I went back and started trying to get into the first couple albums and just never could. Kenny can sing for sure but he just brings a different flavor that doesn't quite excite me for whatever reason. I do like some songs from those first two albums though, especially when they do them live now. I wish they'd re-record like a greatest hits of the first two albums with Erik on vocals or re-record some for bonus tracks. That said, I'm pretty certain that if you like Gronwall era H.e.a.t, you'll dig the new tune. To me the new one is basically just some combination of Address the Nation or Tearing Down the Walls stuff....In the vein of songs like Better Off Alone, Emergency, etc. I guess it remains to be seen how the rest will shake out though. The most interesting thing to me is to see how they do without Tobias Lindell producing being that he's kinda been their Mutt Lange the past few albums. If this first song is an indicator though, I think they'll be fine
  4. It's basically the Defiants and Crazy Lixx and then everything else. For me it's basically a coin flip on these two...Both great albums....Just depends on my mood as to which one I want to listen to. If I have to choose, I think I'd give it to Crazy Lixx just because it annoys me slightly the Defiants put that silly Drink Up tune on the album.
  5. Looks interesting....will check it out. I think I saw the first single Trespass On Love is out 10/23.
  6. New tune. Sounds okay but maybe somebody can explain the meaning of the tune? Kinda dumb song title and subject matter imo.... Having a tough time getting into it. I googled Mary Leigh and she was a political activist or something....unless it's a different Mary Leigh....
  7. Was on swedish radio. Not sure if it was really authorized or not.
  8. Okay.....Little tease time.... Heard the new H.e.a.t track One By One and can confirm it's freaking amazing balls Will add that to my ears it's really unlike anything on the last album. To me it's sorta like Emergency combined with something like maybe Better Off Alone....But better than those tunes Like Andrew said above, just basically kick ass melodic hard rock bliss
  9. Good news! Lots of great stuff coming in the next 5-6 months!
  10. Through this enough times now that I feel like I can share some thoughts. For me, this has a stronger first half than the debut but the debut had a stronger second half. Few quick thoughts tune by tune... Love Is The Killer - Great first song. Bit like Love & Bullets but I like this one a little more. Probably about a 9.5 for me. Standing On The Edge - 10/10 song for me. Really dig this tune and might be my favorite on the album. Starts a fantastic 4 song run. Hollywood In Headlights - Another 10/10 song. Hooks galore, great vibe....I like these throwback, yesteryear type tunes...Kinda like Take Me Back from the first album. Fallin' For You - Another 10/10...Excellent song that's exactly what I want from these guys. Hold On Tonight - I'm going another 10/10 here. Really like this tune also. I get a Def Leppard vibe with some parts in this song, especially around the middle. Another tune I really can't get enough of. All Nighter - This ends the 10/10 run for me. It's not bad, bit cheesy, little cliche. That said though, it's still catchy as heck, good ear candy and find myself liking it. It's probably like an 8.5/10. U X'D My Heart - We've heard this one already. It's a good tune but doesn't overly excite me. I'd say probably 8/10. It Goes Fast - Something feels a bit weird about the opening verses of this one but picks up steam and an easy message to relate to. I'd probably go like 9/10 as it's probably my favorite song in the second half of the album. Stay - Reminds me a little bit of Underneath The Stars from the first album but I don't like it as much as that song. Nothing wrong with the tune though and decent. I'd probably go about 8/10. Alive - I'm getting an almost U2 meets modern Bon Jovi vibe from this one. It's an okay tune but not doing that much for me compared to many of the songs before it. I'd say to this point in the album, while I still like it, it's probably my least favorite tune so I'd go about 7.5/10. Drink Up - Catchy, party type tune but feels kinda cheesy and a bit juvenile to me. I probably like it less than Alive so I'd say about 7/10. Forever - Japan bonus track. This can be safely skipped and is the most boring song they've recorded IMO. I'd go about 4/10 with this one. For me, the first 5 songs are darn near perfect and are a notch above the first 5 on the debut. However, the debut had some songs I really liked in the second half like Take Me Back, Save Me Tonight and Underneath The Stars. I think I might like all 3 of those songs better than any song in the second half of this album. As a result, I feel like the debut had a stronger second half. Overall, really good album though. I feel like I'll be slotting it in at #2 behind Crazy Lixx just because it tails off a bit for me with the last 2-3 tracks.
  11. Will be interesting to hear how they do without Tobias Lindell.....He's been their Mutt Lange Interesting throwback concept for the album. There's been comments that they are going back to to their roots a bit and just making a kick ass melodic rock album. It's almost the opposite approach from what the last album suggested as moving forward "Into The Unknown". Can't wait to check this out. Andrew's comment on the new single "One By One" which I left out of the first post sure has me excited.... "I'm excited to say, the upcoming H.E.A.T single "One By One" is 3 minutes and 47 seconds of unadulterated, pure melodic hard rock bliss, very reminiscent of the debut, but updated."
  12. From melodicrock.com: http://melodicrock.com/content/new-heat-single-one-one-out-september-27?fbclid=IwAR0tqPbiDDCcyJoDNCzO-8k-vZrrVYmiZdu5i_M7aVXgQfJzgyg2ofNZFuI New single "One By One" is due out September 27th. "H.E.A.T announces release of a brand new album, titled “H.E.A.T II”, early next year. “H.E.A.T II” is the first album ever to be produced entirely by the band with Jona Tee and Dave Dalone as producers. ”This is how we would sound if we made a debut album 2019, hence the title. First out is the brand new single ”One by One” with an animated video to go with it, release September 27th, followed by the anthem ”Rise” (release later this fall). ”One by One is about enlightening people and showing an alternative path to life. A road less travelled, if you will.” ~ H.E.A.T The album "H.E.A.T II" is out January 22!
  13. Should be pretty good. I don't care much for that Blue Virgin Isles tunes though. I know it's a cover but just doesn't do anything for me. The rest should be pretty solid though.
  14. Album is out in Japan. Listened to the album and digging it. I kinda feel like the first half is a bit stronger than the second half. For me the first 5 songs are just fantastic. And the one song I really don't like is the Japan bonus track Forever....Pretty boring, sappy ballad. Can't say much after one listen but good stuff and just picking up where they left off with the debut.
  15. Have you checked out the song samples in I Tunes Japan or Amazon Japan? Sounding to me like those kinds of songs are definitely on it. Firesoul Fly is definitely a "Face The World" type tune IMO. To me this is sounding like it might be a very "melodic" album. I'm one that was late to the Pretty Maids party though so I'm probably not the best judge lol. I've really liked what they've done with their last 3 albums but I'm very hit or miss on stuff before Pandemonium. I basically only have 2-3 songs per album that I find myself liking for some reason and it's generally the more melodic tunes. I've got one CD put together of everything i liked pre-pandemonium....Songs like Clay, Hell On High Heels, Live Until It Hurts, Never Too Late, Die With Your Dreams, Walk Away, Savage Heart, etc. I have a harder time getting into the Jump The Gun/Future World stuff for whatever reason. I loved Kingmaker though outside of Civilized monsters and Sickening which didn't do much for me. I think I'm really gonna dig this new one as I liked every sample.
  16. Good first tune! Samples for the album are up on Amazon Japan also and sounding really good to my ears. Feeling real good about this one
  17. Vote for Forever Wild. Close between that and Ruff Justice but two songs on Ruff Justice that don't do much for me...Shot With Needle Of Love and Kiss Of Judas. Really nothing on Forever Wild that I can say that about.
  18. Armageddonize for me. I just like every song on it and it feels pretty varied to me. The Storm and Wide Open are just awesome tunes. Bleed & Scream and Monumentum bother very good too. Bleed & Scream has a few songs in the second half though that just don't do much for me. Based upon samples I've heard, I'm feeling like the new one will probably fall behind the last 3 albums but maybe I'll change my mind after hearing it all.
  19. That Never Enough For You song is really good. Shame the rest of the album is all covers.... Based upon that first song they ought to be working on an album of original material.....They could have something.
  20. Meh...I'm just rarely into covers. Generally, the only way I get into them is if the original song was mostly unknown anyways. I'd rather see bands taking the time to record and release original stuff than covers.
  21. I get that a bit about the songs...It's not really bothering me though. They've got some cool hooks and musicianship like you say that sorta keeps it interesting to me. At least they're not battle/king/queen/fight/Unite songs Not blowing me away by any means but I'm enjoying it for a new discovery that's helping me kill some time until the Defiants comes out. I can see it squeaking in my top 10 with how things have went in this down year to this point.
  22. I checked out the full 90 second samples of all songs on I Tunes Japan....My thoughts based on the samples... Viva La Victoria....We know this one. It's okay I guess but another fight/battle song with overdone subject matter. I'll admit it's growing on me a tiny bit but still not loving it. Mary Leigh...Another goofy subject matter tune. I can sorta get behind "Live The Victory" in the first song....But this one I can't see myself connecting to at all. I had to google Mary Leigh and she was some civil protester in the 1800's. This song has all the makings of a skip for me and seems like a horrible choice for track #2 on the album. Blood Wants Blood....Another fight tune. Outside of the subject matter again I kinda like it musically. But again, how many times do they need to cover this similar subject... Shelter Me...The ballad on the album. Okay I guess but not grabbing me. I honestly didn't care for Hurt much on the last album and I think I'll probably feel about the same with this song. United...We've heard this. Not a bad tune, again overdone subject matter. I like it better than Mary Leigh or Shelter Me though. Delirious....Now this one is sounding good. Kinda reminding me of Jaded a bit from the last album. When The Winter Ends....Another good sounding tune. Maybe the album picks up steam now? 38 or 44....Nope...Another fight type tune of some sort. Doubting this one does much for me. Never Gonna Be Like You....Sounding pretty good....melodic rock tune. The Masquerade....Another interesting sounding tune with a bit of interesting tempo to it. Think I could like this one. Take Me Home...Not sounding too bad. Initially I was thinking John Denver's Country Roads Take Me Home when hearing this but it got better lol. So I don't know. Think it'll probably be okay but based upon samples I'm also feeling like this might fall well behind the past 3 albums. I guess we'll see.
  23. LMAO but true! Samples up on amazon here. Think there are longer samples in I Tunes Japan but haven't checked that out yet. https://www.amazon.com/Paradigm-Eclipse/dp/B07T1FJCBN/ref=tmm_msc_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= Samples sounding a bit "meh" to me. It's tough to tell much from these but it all sounds very familiar. I think I might like the second half more than the first half just based on the samples. I just always struggle a little with weird song titles and songs like "Viva La Victoria" and "Mary Leigh" don't set me off on the right foot in terms of connecting with the songs. They just seem like odd choices to be the leading songs on an album. Probably will still buy this based upon how much I liked the past few albums but my excitement level has taken a nosedive.
  24. Good tune. Think it probably my third favorite of tunes released but still a very good tune. No doubt this will be a great album.
  25. I'm not caring much for this new tune. It's okay and sounds fine. I think mostly I just don't like the subject matter and aren't really connecting with the tune. Just don't find myself wanting to sing..."Viva La Victoria". And like Glen says above it's just another battle/stand up and fight type tune. And I'm usually not bothered with accent in their stuff but I'm hearing it in spots in this song. I'm hoping for better with the rest. I had thought this album would be a blind pre-order but now I don't know. I've gotta think there will be some better tunes...
