  1. Chicago-area rockers Loveblast are returning with their first new material since their 2010 debut album and will be playing more shows soon. They've posted their first new song, "Wild Forever," and an EP is on its way. http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_16237698 http://www.facebook.com/loveblastrock http://loveblastrock.com
  2. I looked first, just too quickly, I suppose. My mistake, but the good news for all of us is that there's a new band that more than one of us found good enough to share.
  3. There's a new band from New York called Station. They have a fun song with a fun video. Their EP was produced by Michael Wagener (yes, that Michael Wagener) and is supposed to be released in 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y9diZqgjfc http://www.facebook.com/StationNYC
  4. Geoff, if you like Sonic Boom and the thought of an album fairly close to that but a little heavier appeals to you, then I think that you will enjoy Monster.
  5. As a huge KISS fan, I couldn't be happier with this album! Sonic Boom was awesome and this is the perfect continuation. Monster feels even more intense. It's the perfect album title, because everything about this album is massive. Rockin' riffs, catchy hooks, big choruses, songs about sex, songs about rock and roll, songs about believing in yourself...it's a KISS album for sure!
  6. It's not only you. I agree that they were/are overrated, but I did like them. It was an exciting time when these guys entered the scene. There weren't as many new rock bands back then and they were getting some of the most publicity. I got to see them live and really enjoyed it. It was a shame when they disappeared. The story I always heard was that the label was just sitting on an unreleased album and the band's hands were tied. Whatever the case, it's a shame that so many years were lost, but hopefully 2013 goes well! Exactly how I feel, even though they're not one of my very favorites.
  7. It looks like Silvertide might be coming back! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h77S7MrVrEk

My CD is on its way, but they allow you to stream the entire album on their site and I've listened to it a couple of times: http://nastyhabitkills.com/media.cfm I think that your comment "fun ride" about sums it up. It's just a fun, rockin' album that's meant to give you some enjoyment. It's like "fast food rock" in a sense, and while that term may discourage some people, I use it positively. Sometimes you just want some greasy fast food.

Here's a new band that some people will definitely dig: They have a full-length CD available (http://nastyhabitkills.com/store.cfm) and a couple of music videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWw-u0vPMig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB5jXLaAUys http://nastyhabitkills.com
  10. That's correct. I think that this is a pretty cool thing to release between actual albums. They're one of the best new bands out there and I give them even more credit for actually staying active and not disappearing for years at a time like too many new bands have done in recent years.
  11. There's an official stream available of the complete album, including the bonus tracks: http://www1.rollingstone.com/hearitnow/player/darkness.html Is it perfect? No. Is it awesome? Ohhh yes!
  12. Almost four years later, Take It To The Limit still stands tall as one of the greatest albums of the 00s.
  13. I like it a lot. I think that it's one of the stronger new albums by a veteran band in recent years, especially considering the absence of a major original member.
  14. Did anyone else notice the problems with Caroline Records' 2008 remaster of King Kobra's Ready To Strike? There's some bad tape warbling in a number of spots, most noticeably on the songs "Shadow Rider" and "Piece Of The Rock." This hasn't been a problem on previous issues of this CD, so either the tapes were damaged in recent years or Caroline Records messed something up. I was really shocked and disappointed by this. These seemed like cool, official releases with a decent amount of attention given to both the packaging and the sound. The sticker on the front even proudly boasts, "Lovingly Remastered." Unfortunately, the problems actually make this the worst version of this CD. I had even purchased a second copy to give to my friend, because I know that he's going to love this album, but I definitely can't give it to him now, because this is no way to hear this album for the first time. So, did anyone else notice this? I suppose that it's POSSIBLE that I have a faulty CD, but these problems are definitely tape-oriented, not digital, so I don't see how it could only be on my copy. Also, has anyone noticed problems with any other Caroline Records releases? They also did King Kobra's second album, Thrill Of A Lifetime, and multiple titles by Hurricane and Thunder, as well as a number of other rock and non-rock artists.
  15. I came across this a year or two ago. I think that it IS him, just singing a different style, plus a few years prior to the first BulletBoys album.
  16. I enjoy their first release and have been waiting for this one. I'll buy it if it makes it to CD.

    LOVEBLAST CD

It's been almost a year since they released their debut album and I still listen to it regularly. It was definitely one of 2010's best albums and probably THE best debut album of the year.
  18. Pretty good. I'd like to hear a little more first, but definitely one I'll be watching.
  19. Thanks for your help. It turns out that this is actually a cover version. I thought that it was one of the newer incarnations of the band.
  20. I'm a Sweet novice and trying to figure out what CD this full-length re-recording of "Wig Wam Bam" comes from. From what I've been able to find, this is Andy Scott's Sweet? However, the only Andy Scott's Sweet CDs that I can find have short versions of this one and "Little Willy." If anyone can explain more to me and give me some pointers, I'd really appreciate it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOsA7wFPobE&feature=related
  21. This has bothered me for years! Does anybody know what this song is in the trailer for the movie Witless Protection? I've pretty much verified that it ISN'T in the movie, just the preview (I hate when they do that). The song starts at 1:20 and plays throughout the rest of the clip. It sounds like Airbourne, but I'm almost positive that I know every song of theirs and it's none of the ones that I know. Thanks for any help!
  22. Great album! Their best in 20 years. They've been playing three songs from it.
  23. It's an absolute masterpiece. It's my favorite KISS album and my favorite album of all time. Believe me, it is NOT popular in KISS circles to love this album. In fact, even though I celebrate KISS' ENTIRE career, I am often hated by fellow KISS fans for loving this album as much as I do. It just really grabbed me as a young teenager and has stuck with me ever since. General hard rock and melodic rock fans, such as yourself, tend to be a lot more friendly to this album. I'm glad that you finally checked it out and really appreciate it.
  24. I've always thought so as well.
  25. I don't like any of those either!
