  1. I for one can't understand why all the people that Lonnie screwed over aren't ripping him a new asshole since this latest deadline has come & gone. The way this thread took off when the scam was found out, you would think that a lynch mob was going to be gathering soon to take a little road trip to Blytheville. But it's been relatively quiet. Maybe everyone has just resigned to the fact that they will never hear from Lonnie again or see their money again...good riddance, I say.
  2. Honestly, guys...cut the guy some slack. He may have been in a wreck or something...
  3. Well...anyone got anything to report? Lonnie & I had re-established contact regarding our long overdue trade from last September, but for 2-3 weeks now, he's gone silent again & hasn't responded to emails/PM's. And I haven't been "nagging" him either...I generally tried to contact him once, sometimes twice a week just to get updates, but nothing.
  4. That would make sense if Lonnie made a couple of large payments, effectively "moving" the money to another account. But we're talking about peolple who have sold Lonnie cd's & then getting screwed if they didn't ship the cd's with delivery confirmation. Any way you look at it, that's just wrong. Given all of Paypal's inner workings (especially since they're linked with ebay), it should be no trouble at all to tell if those funds were used to purchase goods. And if they were, that's TS for paypal. There's no way in hell a seller should have to forfeit the money.
  5. No, there should be somethign else. I think PayPal are trying to track all "preorder" money Lon collected in his account. Since Lon has been quick to spend some on purchases, I guess PayPal is tracking those payments out and collecting them back if the seller doesnt fall under their protection policy. But that still doesn't make it right...they are still stealing. It's not like Paypal is the federal government. When a person is convicted of dealing drugs, the government can seize any of that person's property, be it real or personal, because the argument can be made that it was purchased with "drug money". Paypal seems to be using the same logic...the preorder money was used to purchase other goods, so that money is forfeit...sorry, but it doesn't work that way.
  6. I have absolutely no problem believing that Paypal initiated these refunds. It's just another reason that Paypal is one of the biggest scams out there. They are going to do WHATEVER it takes to get their money back seeing as how they are now "in the hole" with so many people filing claims regarding the Hurricane cd's. I'm sure a lot of people just had their bank or credit card company reverse the charges, & when Paypal couldn't recover the funds from Lonnie's account, they go to plan B, which is screwing over anybody who didn't use delivery confirmation. I guess the only thing that surprises me is that they are only doing this to people who had dealings with Lonnie...
  7. Shoot me a PM with your email address & I'll be happy to hook you up.
  8. I must have missed that one...someone had one listed for $350.00 "buy it now" 2-3 months ago. Maybe it was a boot? It was weird...it seems that 3 or 4 copies got listed within a couple months of each other here recently. I'm not sure who to compare them to...however, the cd is absolutely fantastic. Defintely one of the few indies that lives up to all the hype. The production is great, the guitar player smokes...I guess the only gripe would be the "ho-hum" artwork.
  9. I don't doubt that ebay would do absolutely nothing (do they ever)...I just thought that maybe the *threat* of contacting them would get your shadow to ceases & desist.
  10. Have you tried contacting him through ebay? Tell him to knock it the fuck off or he'll be reported. That may scare him off. Worth a shot.
  11. Hell ya it's a good move...I'm sure some of the "ebay police" detractors will have to chime in with their 2 cents, but getting rid of this kind of scum is ALWAYS a goog thing.
  12. Don't know that one...I do remember that the first 2 cd's I bought back in '84 (I think) were Led Zeppelin IV and Yes - 90125...
  13. Jarred...got mine as well. Let me know when I can return the favor.
  14. I swear, it's like kindergarden all over again..."Young man, you go sit in time-out & don't get up until you can behave"...sheesh!
  15. Well, I can say that Lonnie has finally re-opened the lines of communication with me (still unclear as to why they broke down in the first place). That, along with his attempts to refund those who he owes money to, is at least a step in the right direction.
  16. I still can't get over the fact that he ignored multiple emails & PM's from me (& others, as it turned out). What's up with that shit? Where we asking the wrong questions? I asked him a couple times about a set list & source for the live Hurricane cd he was supposed to have. And nothing...for weeks...sometimes months...at a time. I kept asking myself, "what the hell have I done to get on this guy's bad side"? A while back, we exchanged PM's about the new Winger & Skid Row cd's & I told him I was really excited about them, & he sent me a file of mp3's of the new cd's weeks before they hit the shelves...was all this part of his master plan to get me to buy the Hurricane cd's?
  17. And while you're at it, where's my Slayer disc? And my Def Leppard disc? And my Whitesnake disc? And my Dokken disc, etc, etc, etc...
  18. This part doesn't sit well with me: "I know Lonnie has spoke to Phil Carson via cell phone and also relayed to him that everyone would be refunded." He's banged up bad enought that he's being transfered to another IC unit, but he's able to talk to an attorney on a cell phone. Gotta call bull shit on that one...
  19. I'll second that, he is definitely one of the good ones! I've had nothing but good experiences with Matt! Same here, nothing but great things to say about matt! (unless he starts reissuing billy squier and hurricane cd's) lol, just kidding Matt! Thanks for all the kind words, guys...I've had nothing but great experiences with all you guys as well.
  20. I was just ready to post about the thread that Grabemall started! Good thing I read this first! My how our thoughts have changed within a few days! I'm lucky in that I'm not out too much...I did spend around $300 picking up cd's that Lonnie specifically requested for our trade, but I can always turn around & sell them. It's just a *&% hassle I wasn't planning on having to deal with.
  21. Well hell, I've kept silent on this long enough. I've had my suspicions about Lonnie for several months now...ever since he starting throwing bullshit excuses my way on why our trade was getting delayed again and again and again. First off it was that he was buying a new house. Then he was having major back surgery. Next he was traveling to Florida...it just went on and on. I talked to a couple others here at the board (who I don't want to name...if they feel like weighing in, that's their choice) via PM about my problems with Lonnie, and they pretty much confirmed that something fishy was going on. Even my PM's regarding the live Hurricane release were ignored, which I thought was awful strange. I would bet that the only thing that screwed with the scam was when Grab.em.all posted regarding his problems with contacting Lonnie. The scam was then shifted into damage control, trying to assure everyone here at the board that everything was fine. I wanted very badly to call Lonnie out, hoping if my concerns were voiced in a public forum I'd get a response from him, but figured I'd get napalmed by other members here who consider him a friend (& at one time, that included me).
