  1. My ass he's not going to Rocklahoma or that he's moving to Boston. Adriano, you can bet your ass he's still going to the concert. Just be on the lookout for the fat ass who reeks of cat piss...that's him.
  2. Evertime I see that this thread has been updated, I keep my fingers crossed that someone will have some news regarding Lonnie's pending incarceration. I guess that's just wishfull thinking but man, if there's any cocksucker who deserves it, it's this loser.
  3. Yeah, it's a disgusting set of songs, by anyone's standards. How did the production sound? Was it "proper"? Pretty hard to tell from the :30 samples, but let's put it this way. Brett needn't worry about money spent on production cutting into his hair extensions fund...
  4. I just went & checked out a few of the samples (Tom Petty, The Cars)...double
  5. Fer chrissakes, keep your voice down. We don't want to be giving anybody else any ideas!
  6. I missed it I guess. The person who runs the site is being a dickwipe about it now & the Victoria girl sent me an e-mail saying to stop harrassing her? Sorry for trying to warn you, now go fuck yourself You know what? To hell with her & the person(s) running that board. Try to do somebody a favor...let 'em get fucked over by Lonnie. With that attitude, they deserve it.
  7. Just a little update on my situation with Lonnie...he had owed me a Slayer cd from a previous trade (& we're talking WAY previous...last September). After the Hurricane fiasco broke, he promised again & again to drop it in the mail & that he was so sorry it had taken this long to complete his end of the trade. After about 2 weeks & still no Slayer cd, he said he couldn't understand why it hadn't shown up, but that he had one more copy & would FedEx it the next day. All this took place the second week of February. He has since broke off all communication, ignored all emails, etc etc. So if anybody out there is holding out hope that all this was a HUGE misunderstanding & that Lonnie is trying to make things right, don't believe it for a second. He's a lying scumbag & deserves anything & everything that coming to him.
  8. I recently won a rare Def Leppard promo cd from www-adrenalized-de. I paid $6.00 for shipping. So far so good, right? The seller then takes it upon himself to send the cd with the jewel case. He put a note inside that reads "I cent (his spelling) the cd without jewel case because of the weight. So I can send airmail not standard (4-6 weeks). I hope that was ok for you." And of course, the cd arrives broken...almost snapped it two. The seller never emailed me asking if it was ok to send it without the jewel case, plus I would think that $6.00 was plenty to cover airmail shipping for 1 cd (from Germany). Either way, that was his shipping quote as listed in the auction. I've emailed him telling him what happened & that I expected a complete refund, but I'm sure I'll have to file an "item not received" claim with paypal. Actually, let me modify something...he did send the rear jewel case (no cd tray), but put the cd & the front insert in a sleeve. So I guess that the added weight of the cd tray & front jewel case must have made the package cost too much??!!
  9. I think you're giving the guy too much credit...I saw this auction, too & contacted him asking if he could send a scan of the top side of the cd. He said that he couldn't 'cause he didn't have a scanner... I would bet that he was hoping to pass this off as the real thing.
  10. You need only ask yourself one question...if a black radio host had made that comment, would it have even made the local paper?
  11. Well, not as disturbing as someone equating collecting cd's with being a drug addict... MUST HAVE MY MUSIC FIX ............................ Nice one...
  12. Well, not as disturbing as someone equating collecting cd's with being a drug addict...
  13. Not trying to start anything here, just honestly curious. Why does the fact that Ron was never paid make the Metal Mayhem release a boot? If he sanctioned the release, it's an "official" release, isn't it? The fact that he never got paid seems like a totally seperate issue.
  14. I've been thinking the same thing...maybe there is someone on the board who has been feeding Lonnie info?
  15. No, my sense of smell is nothing special. It was just obvious with the Hurricane boots I got. Jarred can comfirm this...the odor just hit you in the face when you opened the jewel case. These things were obviously newly printed. And you couldn't be more wrong about my "being in it for the money". Where do you get that from? I'm in it because I'm a fan of the genre. I just want to receive what I paid for...wouldn't anybody?
  16. Well... ya gotta be careful doing that too. Careful who you trust around here. You give them an ebay link and next thing you know the person you asked for help is out bidding you. I've seen that happen here. Unfortunately, in most cases, the more hard-core a collector is the more likely to stab you in the back he is. There are exceptions... but I wouldn't go around trusting everyone here. Man you are batting 1000 Dave!! Another great post. And absolutely 100% true. And I know EXACTLY who you are talkin about. Do tell...care to share this insight with the rest of us?
  17. Aren't you allowed to be both? You can be whatever you wanna be... go for it. Just one question for you. Do you own a single CDR? OK, I'll bite. Sure I have some stuff on CDR. A few (probably around 10...) are copies of some indies that I have to hold me over untill I can locate the real deal. All the others are live shows. Bunches of those...around a hundred maybe. How's that relevant to this thread? I'm open to suggestions...protect yourself how? Seller's auction states that it's an original. Picture appears to be of an original cd. Seller has excellent feedback (99.2% or something like that). Let me see if I understand your logic. It's ok to rip someone off as long as they don't KNOW they've been ripped off, right? So if I decided to purchase some cd's from Sam & paid him with counterfeit money, it would be ok as long as he couldn't tell that the money was fake?
  18. My point exactly...you can't. You have to rely on the seller. That's been the whole point of this entire thread.
  19. Is this a bootleg? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...43225&rd=1&rd=1 Is you said no...guess again.
  20. By "found some other way", don't tell me you would have somebody burn you a copy...that would be ripping off the artist! And to answer the second part of that question...any high priced indie I've ever thought about bidding on/buying I've made sure I've previewed a copy. If it sucked, I wouldn't purchase it.
  21. Obviously the "music" isn't worth that much, but that's where supply & demand comes into play. There were what, 16 million copies of Hysteria sold? Great cd, but a shit load of them out there, right? What does a copy of it sell for...$3.00? So if there is a great indie out there, but only 500, 1000, whatever copies made, & there are 100 people that want it, the price goes WAY up. Simple arithmetic. Simple arithmetic I agree. Then why is it some people need to pay the large amount for an original? If it is out of print... wouldn't a CDR copy be just as good? Maybe the same reason that you have a car instead of a bus pass? You *prefer* to have your own car. Not the best analogy in the world, but hey, I'm on my 4th beer. Or for that matter, using that logic, why not sell all your cd's & just transfer all the music to your Ipod? Isn't that the same reasoning you're using?
