I don't have any problem with it being a download--I mostly buy downloads now anyway, as they're more convenient for my particular lifestyle--but I refuse to pay $28 for a download. That's just being greedy ... and while some of those songs are pretty good, they're not so good that I'm willing to spend $28 for them. Guess they'd rather sell a limited number of downloads for $28 than sell a lot of downloads for $9.99 or less. Their songs, their perogative ... but I'll get by without the songs, thanks anyway.

Wait, judging from the sound quality, I thought "The Savage Playground" WAS a collection of demos... Seriously, I was all over this. Ran to their site and prepared to get some "new" Crashdiet tunes. Then I saw the price. I"ll be damned if I'm spending $30 for a download of some demos.

It's not. "Bite the Hand," "Spit It Out," and especially "Punched in the Gutz" are all better.

Agree. I agree with your right to not consider this a true Tigertailz album--though personally I think there's plenty of that patented Tigertailz sound present--but I disagree that this is nothing special. I've been playing the hell out of this EP for several weeks now and love damn near every second of it. (Just posted my full review for Hardrock Haven up in the "Shout" section, by the way.)

I think a lot o' folks thought this album--or EP, to be all technical--would be about as much fun as trying to give a starving lion a sponge bath. But don't get out the gutting knives just yet, 'cause this is surprisingly good. For the record, I never review an album by watching a music video. When I post a review here, I generally try to find a video from the album so people can sample and get a taste of what the music is like, but the reviews are only done by listening to the album.

Eventually these guys were always going to make a great modern hard rock album, and they have finally done so. Hmmmmm ... I wonder if "Man in the Middle" is a remake of the Sure Conviction song. Be interested in hearing that. Well, actually, I'm interested in hearing the whole album. "All Stand Together" ranks among my all-time favorite Christian rock/metal albums.

Were I to review this--and by the way, I'm willing to if you want to set something up--I would describe it as modern hard rock. Or, more precisely, female-fronted modern hard rock. Based solely on that single, they definitely have a "hard" edge, but I'm not sure I would use the word "heavy" to describe them. But yeah, as Dan said, solid stuff in the Halestorm vein. Be interested in hearing the rest of the album.

Well, well, well, what have we here? One of the best modern hard rock albums I've heard this year. Really good stuff if you like the commercial modern hard rock format.
