  1. Hmmmm, ok, try taking one song and listen to it 5 times straight, when you are having a good music day. I'll suggest Straight Outta Hell, from Rest In Sleaze. I pick it because it is a rocker beginning to end, short song, no in depth meaning, no changes ups, it just kicks ass. Maybe if you get into one song you can get the feel for the rest? Sometimes I spin a cd and go "eh, average, uninteresting". Then one song catches me and I spin the disc again and I get into it. For me this wasn't necessary Crashdiet though.
  2. Yep, Geoff is right, I am Jeff, formerly Madd Mortigan, but now I am Jeff, as Geoff said. Welcome back. Jeff
  3. I see your point and it's like that with movies too. When they said they were releasing a 4th Indiana Jones I just groaned...and rightfully so. Same thing for the Star Wars. The 3rd of the "new" movies had some redemption for #1 and #2 but overall they wrecked a good thing. "midichlorians"? Are you f*ckin' kidding me? I just have to pretend those never existed. So here's to Danny and Tyketto coming up with strong effort that maybe we will see in 2011.
  4. I think the commercial was posted here before but until today I have never seen the one where you have the option to actually click "Deny" and see what Dokken does: http://www.everyclickmatters.com/dangers/dokken.html
  5. I was wondering if I was gonna get some feedback for liking that song but I didnt think it would be within minutes! Yeah, it almost has, dare I say, a dance or club beat to it. Sometimes I think what happens for me is I really like the sleaze, the attitude, the hard rock, then a band does something different, for example, uses a saxaphone, piano, female vocals or whatever and incorporates that into a song. Maybe because it is unique to the disc's overall style is why I like. A good change of pace, what can I say, it might be none of that but I just really like it. But thanks for not holding back on the opinion Lindsay.
  6. I received the Craxy Lixx and Reckless Love disc on Friday ripped it all to my mp3 player and have been listening all weekend. I decided to start with Reckless Love to mostly spin since it has been out longer. My take on Reckless Love....great disc. Track 1 didn't stay on my MP3 player very long, didnt care for it, and I dont even know its name. One More Time, I like the all band vocals in the chorus and that is about it. Without the chorus it would have been deleted as well...and it might get deleted soon as it is wearing thin...we'll see. Now with track 3, Badass, this disc takes off. It gets a little harder and a little attitude starts to settle in. Love Machine is good, Beautiful Bomb is probably my least favorite of the good tracks...before you jump on me for that, it is a great tune, just least favorite of the good ones. The second half of this disc is the strongest IMO. Romance, Sex, Back To Paradise, Wild Touch and Born To Rock are outstanding tracks. Track 9, So Yeah, I didnt care for and it was deleted. If I had to pick a favorite song off this disc, it would be Wild Touch with Back To Paradise coming in a very close second. This week I'll get to spin the Crazy Lixx disc some more but all I can say now is I really like the first 4 songs a lot.
  7. The debut is a great disc IMO, the only 2 songs that I never ripped to my computer were Lay Your Body Down and Strip Me Down. They are just ok for me. I may be in the minority but I really liked Strength In Numbers almost as must as the debut with Rescue Me, Write Your Name In The Sky, Meet Me In The Night and The Last Sunset being the stand outs for me.
  8. Their Myspace page shows that they have recently released a cd. You can email them and they will send you a Paypal invoice for the cd, tshirt. I'm going to give their songs a few more plays.
  9. awesome thread, though I have nothing to add....now anyway.
  10. If anyone is looking for Tyketto's "Last Sunset" disc, autographed by all original members, or info for the other discs: http://www.hardrockhouse.com/TheLastSunset.htm I bought DV's last solo release from hardrockhouse.com and so I get these updates via email. 8 days to ship overseas to me here in little ol' Wisconsin...not too shabby.
  11. ...and Danny Vaughn's solo releases will be reissued. http://www.sleazeroxx.com/news10/0317tyk.shtml I for one will be looking forward to anything Tyketto releases. And the solo releases (hopefully with some good bonus material).
  12. Don't waste your money. I am however really looking forward to Generation Wild I just hope they don't let me down again. I have to completely disagree, I think the second album is great as well. In The Raw, Die Another Day, Overnight, XTC Overdrive, Bound To Be Enslaved, Falling Rain (perfect intro), The Buried Song, Like A Sin...shit I might as well list them all. It is worth the money, IMO, don't miss it.
  13. Seems to me like a lot of mixed reviews regarding zane/cdinzane. My experience is when there are mixed reviews that is usually not a good thing. I think I'll avoid. Thanks for the other sites listed, I was not aware of a few of them.
  14. Great tune, great band, a lot of energy, love their first 2 releases, hope these guys are around for a long time.
  15. Just made my order from NEH today: Reckless Love - S/T Nasty Idols - Boys Town Crazy Lixx - New Religion (waiting impatiently) Crashdiet - Generation Wild (waiting even more impatiently)
  16. Anyone ever order from FindersRecords.com? They have the Crazy Lixx for pre-order for $12.97 (not including shipping though). For you guys not in the US I guess that would bump you back up to about $22 with shipping and you'd have to wait longer.

    LOVEBLAST CD

AH! Don't say that. I just forked out some decent coin for a CD I know nothing about. Try more samples here and tell me it's the best CD ever: http://www.amazon.com/Loveblast/dp/B00363VHC8 I listened to the sample of 'Harder and Faster (On the edge of disaster)' - love that song title - and I liked that one, but 'Far too long' and 'Lonely winter' were the two that had me convinced. Ok, I only checked their myspace tunes, but I'll check the Amazon samples. If most of it is like Headspin, then I'll put it on my list. Far Too Long seemed too much like what I call "happy rock". Slow paced love songs that I really like are few and far between, and Lonely Winter didn't hook me right away. Headspin, I like that one. Things That Bite seems like it could be good, but everyone just went to bed here and I cannot crank it to get a good feel for it. At low volume it has promise though.

    LOVEBLAST CD

From the Myspace I like the Headspin track first spin...the rest I cannot get into, yet.
  19. All of you should admit it is highly desired because of the front cover artwork. Yep.
  20. A belated happy birthday to the board's king of sleaze! And I mean that with the utmost respect and envy.
  21. I grabbed the Tesla 2 disc edition of Reel today and was going to check out but thankfully decided I wanted to check the condition of the CD's since it was only $5. Well, no disc 2. Bummer.
  22. You guys pretty much shelling out the 22 bucks on NEH? I want to place the order but wow...something like $15 would seem more reasonable.
  23. Yikes, not only using IE but version 6 even!
  24. You guys list a lot of good ones, GNR, Vain, L.A. Guns, Shotgun Messiah, etc., so I won't relist. One that immediately comes to mind for me is Britny Fox - Boys In Heat It may not be spectacular but each song is at least good and therefore I do not skip a track. Also, I dont own the cd but if I did, I doubt I would skip a track on Parlor Trixx - Step Into My Parlor There are a lot of cd's that come close, but one or two songs don't make the cut.
