Yep. Been waiting on this for a long minute. I love the Boys, but they're terrible at updating their fans. And last album was killer. My favourite of 2011.

I think Degreed must be infiltrating a few Top 30 lists. And Jonas & the Massive Attraction dropped a great album. -
Still can't find this anywhere without forking out $30+ in shipping.

Name an obscure (ish) classic album!
KarpetRydOFunk replied to Nick C's topic in General Music Discussion
I finally got around to this. Yep. Brilliant! Play this for anyone, and not a single person will think they're from Thailand. Or that English isn't their first language. Not that that is an issue for me - I'm one of the few that actually enjoy foreign accents in my music - but I could not believe how he sounds. -
tv shows that transitioned from Black & White to color
KarpetRydOFunk replied to 66 mustang's topic in Exquisite Entropy
Twilight Zone went to colour? Or are you referring to the reboot? No, Im pretty sure the original which began in B&W, ran into the early 70's, making the transition, the reboot wasn't until after the movie sparked up interest in it again, and that was in 84. The original Twilight Zone ran from 1959 to 1964... all were in B&W. Rod Serling hosted another anthology series similar to TZ in the early 70s called Night Gallery, that might be the "color" series you're thinking of. According to my good friend, Dr. Wik E. Pedia, Dragnet actually started as a radio show in 1949 (!) before it made the move to TV in 1951 and ran till 1958. A second (color) "Dragnet" series started in '67 and ran till '70. If this thread is gonna turn into a place where everyone corrects Cody, then it has potential to become one of my favourites. -
So... is this the fourth rendition of "The Touch?"

Yeah, I can only see this being a highlight of 2014.

I'm gonna have to revive this one. Anyone else got something to add while I go searching? -
How far have you got, Cody? Anyway, have you listened to The Classic Crime? I've mentioned them many times. If you haven't, I've got the entire The Silver Cord posted in a thread that surely needs to be revived.

yeah slight sarcasm I guess.... Just amazed he can keep coming up with these songs - Some more Stan inspiro rockers - Never Hold Back Dream The Dream More Than A Miracle I'll Never Fall Take It All The Way Have You Ever Believed The Chance You Take When I Dream Dont Let Them Down Never Stop Writing This Song Hold Your Head Up High Never Surrender Dreamin Capture The Dream I just think he might have exhausted the subject by now that's all ;-)) I'd argue that subject can't be exhausted. We all long to feel good and fulfill our dreams. That subject really never seems to ever leave our mind.

I paid for a file once. Once. It was through iTunes. Immediately after purchasing it, I felt sick to the stomach. I am completely serious. I felt like I had just done something horrible. And I paid for it using a gift card someone gave to me. Not even my own money. I am not exaggerating when I say I don't believe in going digital.

Not sure if I'm detecting sarcasm, or not, but what more do we want from him? He's good at what he does.

Bro, this is the 2nd list my friend sent me, im not even close to getting to it, which is primarily why I put it up, I have only gotten through about half of the 1st list, it's getting fucking monotonous, JESUS! are they fucking difficult to find? cause theres like 8 bands on this other list that I cant find any audio of, I mean i will eventually, but im just scanning, very quickly trying to get through it, just keep checking them out, I will go through all of them, it was just overwhelming, I asked this cocksucker for a few bands I might not have heard, and the douche bag funny guy sends me a fucking catalog, then emails me the next morning axing me if I found any I liked on the list, so there is some good shit on this list? when Im done with the 1st list, i'll post it, since it seems theres people that actually are using the list, I didnt even know anyone but Geoff really even liked this kind of shit, good to know. Oi, you've seen my own threads. You should know I listen to almost anything. One thing of note, a lot of these are giving me a great sense of nostalgia. I never listened to this style of music in my teen years, but a lot of my friends were, and it was often featured in film and games. I'm very surprised to find that most of these bands are relatively new. I didn't think this style of Punk/Pop/Rock was still thriving. It definitely isn't popular in the North West. This does not get played on the radio, and I don't know of any of these guys touring around here, save the Warped Tour. So where is this stuff popular, apart from skate culture?

HOLY SHIT! Drama - Scene From A Distance
KarpetRydOFunk replied to Leykis101's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
That does sound great! Is this the same Drama that released "Escapades?" -
I'd love to track down their debut album. I imagine it's quite rare, and mighty pricey.

Michael Sweet (Stryper) - I'm Not Your Suicide
KarpetRydOFunk replied to Stefan's topic in Christian Rock and Metal
Michael Sweet's debut solo album is a classic in my opinion. With Greg Fulkerson co-writing and producing, it was always going to sound huge, and boy does it ever. Ask me to list my favorite Christian rock songs and "All This and Heaven Too" will be on it everytime. I dug this out for the first time in ages the other day Mark... got wacked again by how good this is. Two of my favourite musicians. Brilliant album. Thats how melodic rock is played. HOLY SHIT!!! Matt?! Where have you been? -
