  1. Mmh, single is officially out, with Nolan on vocals.
  2. I'm pretty sure that's still Nolan singing on the video Stefan just posted. I wonder who'll be singing on the new album? A two version set like D2's "Cockroach" would be cool as hell :-)
  3. Looks like producer Marshal Dutton has taken over the lead-vocal duties, according to their FB page. Wonder who'll be singing on the new album, which is due March 3rd.
  4. Check out 'Rock n Roll Jesus', his finest album, with a lot of really strong songs.
  5. Sounds good, like most of the stuff he's been putting out since Rock n' roll Jesus.
  6. Sounds like something off the debut, which is fine by me :-)
  7. The solo vocals would improve this song ten fold. I was almost going to list it as one of the 3 songs by HEAT I dislike (instead of 2) because I absolutely hate that chanty viking chorus. HATE it. But jeez the verses are good. Sooo good. So it's hard to list it in my least favourite songs, but it possibly would be my 3rd least favourite HEAT song. Did I mention I hate that chorus? As for 'Shot at redemption,' no argument will ever sway me on that. I just think it's a dreadful song. Their whole discography is full of sing-a-long songs... only difference is most of them are good! And count me in as a lover of 'Downtown.' Absolutely love that song. Laughing at tomorrow has nothing to with a chanty viking chorus....its about the band singing together about a common theme....have you even read the lyrics? Nothing even remotely Nordic about the song. And as you say the verses are pure bliss....possibly the best verses on the album. I like it. Its not the best song on the album, but I always listen to it...never skip. And as I say it was one of if not the best song live and they finished with it....just a feel good song. Shot At Redemption has a quirky verse, but the chorus is pretty cool and the solo and post solo bridge absolutely smoke. Pure 100% HEAT imo I tell you what is an annoying HEAT song....Beg Beg Beg. Haha, "Beg Beg Beg" is actually one of my absolute favorites by the band. I agree that the chorus in "Laughing at Tommorow" is dreadful, sounds to me like soccer fans chanting away during a soccer game, just awful imo, and totally ruins the song for me.
  8. What is your least favorite then? 'High on love' and 'Shot at redemption' are literally the only two songs I dislike in the entire HEAT discography. Hate 'High on love,' only fractionally more than 'Shot at Redemption.' Neither are in the spirit of HEAT at all. High on Love?? What is that?? I actually noticed on the main site it's not even listed on the version of 'Freedom Rock' submitted to this site. So I guess for some regions it was a bonus track, but me, the poor bastard, I got it as track 12 on my version of 'Freedom Rock.' If you don't have it, just be grateful. It's shit. Even shitter than 'Shot at redemption,' which is saying a lot. Agree it's not two of their finest moments, but not bad tracks imo. The only two tracks I really dislike by the band are "Downtown" and "Laughing at Tommorow" Other than that they've only ever put out tunes that are from great to perfection imo.
  9. Favorite album is Dynazty - Renatus, second is H.E.A.T Favorite song is either "Salvation" or "A Divine Comedy" by Dynazty or "Mannequin Show" or "Emergency" by H.E.A.T Can't really think of any debut's at the moment, guess I haven't had the time to check too many out, but I'm definetly gonna check out Sunstrike, since two people already voted for it.
  10. Almost forgot: Skagarack - "This time of year"
  11. Perfect time to revive this thread. Some of my all time favorite christmas tunes include: Pretty Maids - In Santa's Claws The Darkness - Christmas Time D-A-D - Sad Sad Xmas Melody Club - I Don't Believe in Angels Wizzard - I Wish it could be Christmas Everyday Queen - Thank God it's Christmas Elton John - Step into Christmas Lona Lewie - Stop the Cavalry Bryan Adams - Christmas Time Darleens - It's Gonna be a Cold Cold Christmas Not all rock, just all good christmas songs :-)
  12. I actually enjoyed Michael Monroe's "Watcha Want" covers album, Vince Neil's "Tattoo's and Tequila" was allright too, other than that I tend to stay away from these records, as they're usually pretty dull.
  13. WHAT??!!! You guys are doing my head in this year. I had to ban myself from looking at that Winger thread because I'm sure people were just taking the piss. But now this? Arggghhh! Well I really dig those kind of fast paced rockers, like their cover of "Another Saturday Night" from the debut. Like Guns 'n Roses "Garden of Eden" or H.E.A.T's "Beg Beg Beg". Don't know if you can follow me here, makes sense to me anyway.
  14. Their first two albums were stellar, All American Nightmare was a bit weaker, while Welcome to the freakshow was a big let down. Looking forward to the new one :-)
  15. Just heard this one today, "Beware of the Candyman" is a fantastic tune, sounds like old school Guns 'N Roses to me, doesn't get much better than that. Overall a really cool album, slightly better than the debut, which I also enjoyed quite a lot.
  16. Good song, sounds promising for sure.
  17. Saw them in Copenhagen on this tour, amazing show, the power went off there too, Erik went crowd surfing. I never cared much for live albums, I can only think of a small handful that I actually dig, and keep spinning once in a while.
  18. Really. I love Overload.....it contains a few of my absolute fav HS songs. Id say Lipservice nicks it, but its pretty close. Sorry dudes, that was a no brainer for me too. As Glen says, some of my favourite Harem Scarem stuff is on 'Overload.' I absolutely LOVE that CD. I like 'Lipservice,' but it is arguably one of the most over-rated albums discussed on this forum. It's not even my favourite Gotthard album, let alone better than any Harem Scarem disc (except 'Voice of Reason'). I will actually rate their discography this week and discuss my ratings at the end of the week, but I dare say that I prefer 'Domino Effect,' 'Homerun' and s/t all over 'Lipservice,' but I will confirm that. It's a good disc, but not even close to 'Overload' in my honest opinion. Like I said in my first post, two totally different classes of band - Harem Scarem are arguably one of if not the finest melodic rock band of all time. Gotthard released a promising debut, then followed it up with three clunkers as they pottered around in poor to average hard rock and weird balladry... and it wasn't even until almost a decade after their debut that they actually even released their second good album. Then, from 2001 they've been quite good to excellent at times, until the tragic passing of Steve Lee, and now I can't see them ever being even a shadow of what they were before. But yeah, moral of the story, Harem Scarem have always been excellent (except maybe in 1995) but Gotthard not so much. "Dial Hard" is Gotthard's finest hour in my book, while Harem Scarem's debut is their best work. I'm gonna get killed for this, but imo "Mood Swings" is over-rated.
  19. For me HS wins the debut duel, and the Weight of the world vs. Homerun duel. Gotthard wins the rest.
  20. This is a fine little tune, definitely got an "unskinny bop" vibe to it. For some reason it got me thinking about Katmandu's "ready for the common man"
  21. Definitely a real cracker this album, faves so far are "Heall Raising Women", "Outlaw", "I Missed the Mark" and "Call to Action". I doubt they will ever match the brilliance of New Religion, which I consider one of the best rock albums this side of the millennium.
