  1. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  2. I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome that is!
  3. A few more casualties; FOX is canceling "The Good Guys" and "Running Wilde": http://tvbythenumber...-canceled/72899 Cancellations & shows "on the bubble" so far: ABC: Canceled - My Generation, The Whole Truth As good as gone - Detroit 1-8-7 Teetering on the brink - Better With You, No Ordinary Family CBS: Canceled - Medium Teetering - The Defenders (This SUCKS! The show wins its time slot every week, averages near 10 million viewers each week, but because it's their lowest rated new drama in the almighty 18-49 demographic, it's probably a goner) $#!4 My Dad Says (not holding on to enough of The big Bang Theory's audience) CSI Miami, The Good Wife NBC: Canceled - Outlaw, Undercovers Teetering - Chase, The Event, Chuck, Parenthood, Community (highly underrated comedy; I love the fact that they don't use those annoying laugh tracks) FOX: Canceled - Lonestar, The Good Guys, Running Wilde Teetering - Lie to Me, Fringe (being moved to Fridays after the New Year) American Dad (lowest rated animated series; if any of their new animated shows coming up do well, it's a goner)
  4. So funny that you posted this; the neti pot aka the death pot, was featured on "Cougar Town" this week. Bobby damn near drowned himself the first time he tried to use it. LOL... http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/11/cougar_town_and_the_neti_pot.html
  5. Something isn't right with this link, Andre. Can you check, please ? Thanks anyway ... ! You have to remove the spaces from the link; try now: http://rcpt.yousendi...20024c37113c473
  6. $62.03 at ImportCDs.com (have never bought from them; no clue how reliable): http://www.importcds...795743?ref=goog $76.73 at CD Connection: http://www.cdconnect...source=googbase Import CDs is probably my most bought from seller on Amazon over the last two years; never had anything but 100% wonderful transactions with them.
  7. A very interesting interview with Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman (WARNING: SPOILERS): http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/11/01/walking-dead-amc-pilot-kirkman/ One comment I found very interesting; Kirkland makes it point to say that the show may not follow the comic exactly. There will be some storylines from the comic that weren't developed very much that will get much more attention on the show.
  8. Easily my favorite track from Slash's CD, and the video... just WOW. *I'd love to hear a complete hard rock CD from Fergie; the girl can definitely sing, and has more than enough attitude to pull it off.
  9. Helloween - Halloween Been listening to Helloween all week to get into the festive mood!
  10. That....is....AWESOME. How f'n cool would that have been to look a few rows back and see Steve Perry singing!
  11. I had a copy of this one several years back, and if I recall correctly, mine was marked as a promo as well.
  12. Always nice to hear when someone has walked through the fire and come out the other side stronger... congrats on the new job(s)!
  13. Really enjoying that Smilek CD; the title track, American Dream, Fields of Fire, Better Days, & Promise to Remember are excellent too.
  14. Loved Part VI and consider it the best as well, but also really enjoyed part VII, "The New Blood". The showdown between Jason & Tina is classic, especially the ending.
  15. http://www.hln.org Don't Fight It Got To Get You Off My Mind Free Respect Yourself Cry To Me Just One More Day Never Found a Girl Soulsville Little Sally Walker I Want To (Do Everything For You) Just The One (I've Been Looking For) Don't Let The Green Grass Fool You Never Like This Before Grab This Thing SAMPLES Grammy-winners Huey Lewis and The News have confirmed the November 2 release of 'Soulsville,' their first album in nine years, to be released on W.O.W. Records. Recorded at historic Ardent Studios in Memphis, the album features 14 classic songs from the vault of Stax Records, including "Respect Yourself" and "Got To Get You Off My Mind". Considered to be the preeminent soul music label in America, Stax was home to artists like Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Booker T & The MG's, and Isaac Hayes, and produced an astounding number of hit records throughout the 1960's & 70's. Ably paying tribute to the rich Stax legacy, Huey Lewis and The News, joined by their long time horn section, capture the energy and excitement of this important era. 'Soulsville' re-unites Huey Lewis and the News with co-producer Jim Gaines ('Sports,' 'Fore!') who worked at the Stax studios as a young man and was involved in many of the label's original recordings. "We're especially proud of the collection." says Lewis, who has been previewing material from the album while on a critically acclaimed summer tour. "There should be a number of surprises for everyone." Formed from two rival Bay Area bands in 1979, Huey Lewis and The News play a brand of straight-ahead rock and roll that has outlasted countless trends, selling over 20 million albums and earning Grammy Awards along the way. The group still performs around 100 shows a year. Lewis has enjoyed recent success on screen and stage as well, acting on the hit television show "Hot in Cleveland", and performing in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Chicago". ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've always loved HL&TN, and will be picking this one up. Not the pop rock we remember from the 80s, but a laid back, soulful affair. Good for relaxing after a long day in the salt mines...
  16. UFC "card girl" Arianny Celeste ...and she's set to be in Playboy:
  17. I believe whoever posted that has the Utah Hard Knox confused with the Tennessee Hard Knox . RR Tracks is track 2 on Psycos R Us.
  18. *Click for full size pic Can't remember where I found this one, but buying records (CDs) definitely cheers me up too.
  19. I too have noticed a slow down / change on the board recently, and offer up a few reasons as to why this is occurring.. 1. As goes Geoff, so goes the board. Not joking even a little bit here. Geoff is one of the most prolific posters here at HH, and when he has limited access to the internet (which has been the case recently) and can’t post as much as normal, the posts on HH decrease overall since he isn’t here spurring the conversations on. Hurry back you sexy Aussie beast. 2. As has already been mentioned, the economy is probably playing a big factor. I’ve certainly bought WAY fewer CDs in 2010 (new or used) and hence, don’t have much to add to discussions on new releases, as I’m simply not hearing them. I dare say the majority of us have cut back on our CD spending over the last year or two, thus cutting back on potential conversation as well. 3. People can be jerks While this isn’t nearly as big a problem here as on other forums, there’s nothing that takes the air out of a person’s sails quicker than getting excited about a new band or release, posting about it, and then seeing it get slagged off by other forum members. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, and should post what they feel, but sometimes a little restraint could go a long way. For example, “ I can’t get into singer X’s vocals, and the songs overall don’t appeal to me, so I would have to pass” is a lot more tolerable than “The singer sucks donkey balls, and these fuckers can’t write a song to save their miserable f’n lives. I can’t believe anyone listens to shit like this”. Responses of this nature are what turns regular posters into lurkers. Just a few things that came to mind...
  20. Looks like "Outlaw" over on NBC is the next to go: http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/10/06/nbc-shuts-down-production-on-outlaw/67027
