Captain Howdy
Peace Sells was the album that opened to doors to Megadeth for me (in fact, it was quite possible my first CD), but I just love the commercialism they added with Countdown to extinction, which for me is their best album start to finish. Funnily though, the reason I picked up Peace sells was because Tigertailz did a cover of the title track. If I had to pick a top three, it would be: Countdown Youthanasia Peace sells I also just happen to be one of those rare people that thinks Megadeth are far superior to Metallica. As much as I love old Metallica I agree with you. When I compare their entire catalogs Megadeth's is better overall IMO.
Clutch
Went with Rust but Peace Sell is right on it's heels.

I'd say its because Megadeth have stayed pretty true to their sound over the years. Yes they got more commercial for a while in the early 90s, but even then, it was still Megadeth. Well I'd say that they went a little to far on parts of Cryptic Writings and all of Risk but still it was better than what Metallica was coming up with.
