Fall Out Boy - Uma Thurman

The new Fall Out Boy album "American Beauty/American Psycho" is way better than I expected. I hadn't listened to anything since Under the Cork Tree in 2005.

They've come a long way and become more modern rock (ditching a lot of the punk elements).

This particular track is quite catchy in a retro kinda way...

I absolutely despise this band and a whole host of similar ones and this new song doesn't change my mind i'm afraid.. Glad you like it though ;)

and Uma Thurman? I mean really? She'd do in a pinch but not in the top 100...

Haha, yeah sorry Dan, I hate this one too. I'll admit it's kind of catchy, I guess, but not in my kind of way at all. You've missed a hell of a lot if you haven't heard anything since 'Under a cork tree.' In my opinion, they've progressively got worse with every album since that CD, and IMO this is by miles their weakest album so far. In other words, I guess Im saying that if you like this, buy this shit out of everything inbetween 'Cork tree' and this because, it's all far better. I can assure you.

Have you ever heard The Damned Things CD? A side-project band the lead singer did with Scott Ian from Anthrax, amongst others. That's a good disc.

Haters! All of You!!!

It's catchy; it's well produced. I don't mind it as an occasional diversion in the listening rotation.

Now granted, it's not the musical genius or aural nirvana of the latest Vince O'Regan magnum opus, but hey you can't have everything...

And by the way, Terry, I don't think the band are complimenting Uma Thurman at all with this song. All they're saying is some young lady wants to move like her (character in 'Pulp Fiction,' I'd assume).

I think you're paying her more of a compliment by saying she wouldn't be in the top 100. Obviously, but did you miss a 0? 'Cause I'd put her out of the top 1000 celebrities. We are talking celebrities, amirite? Because if not, you forgot about 4000 zeros. ;)

    • I'm sure you remember as I do the "Black and White Minstrel Show". These days it's incredible to think that this was considered wholesome family viewing at the time.  There's absolutely no way something like this would fly today.
