Demo Track radio show from 1992/1993

I was just checking out a box full of old TDK and Maxell cassette tapes. I used to make some kickass compilations!! :banger:

Anyway, while checking out some of the unlabeled tapes, I stumbled across 2 tapes that had a radio show with nothing but demo tracks.

The show was called "Demo Tracks" from Baltimore area radio station Rock 103.1 The Underground (formerly 97 Underground). I listened to the first tape all the way through and recorded it onto my computer. If anyone is interested, I'll upload an mp3 of the some of the stuff.

I remembered and loved a song by the band The Funk Junkies. It's called "Good Life". They were an excellent band to see live at The Rage nightclub back then.

Feel old as fuck now dammit!! :taz:

Okay... since I mentioned them.....

Here is a demo from the Baltimore area band THE FUNK JUNKIES. This track is called "Good Life". I wish I could track down their full demo. These guys rocked hard live (see below)! This tune is more in the hard rock vein.

A search on Youtube also led me to a live clip at the old Steeltown club of the band doing the song "Got It Going On". This track is metal! And damn good head-banging metal at that. :beerbang:

LVKix have you seen these guys?

Okay.... going to upload another track.

This time, the band is called WIRED (not the same band listed on HH). This track is called "One Last Shot".

Please give your opinion on these bands please. All opinions are welcome.

Saw The Funk Junkies a bunch back in the day. They were not one of may favorite local bands musically, but they were a fun live band. Besides The Rage they used to play the Midway Cafe a lot. There were so many great bands from Baltimore and Washington CD back then. You could go see a great local band nearly 7 nights a week.

I'll make a list sometime this weekend.

Wow..... what an impressive list of bands. I remember most of those. I was a club going mf'er back then. Sure miss those days. Every night, a different club with an excellent set of bands playing.

I found an old Funk Junkies ad. Check it out:

I used to contort myself in various ways holding the antenna trying to get 97 underground in my VA bedroom. Same for 98 rock.

Haha.... yeah, their signal sucked. I had to do the same thing!
