AOR help......

Glen

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Been going through recently looking to put together an AOR playlist on my ipod - really just looking for anthems along the lines of.......

Franke & The Knockouts - Carrie Why

I-Ten - I Don't Want To Lose You

Alias - One More Chance

Bad Habit - Hunger

If anyone can suggest some bands or individual songs which fit that style which I may have missed over the years I'd be well well grateful.

Most of the mainstream stuff ive heard / got already so really looking for rarer stuff/bands like Prizm, Preview, Steeplechase, Airrace, etc etc

Cheers all......

If by Prizm you meant Canada's Prism, then the song 'Don't Let Him Know' is a must have.

I have only heard one album, Inroads, but that's a minor AOR classic IMO. Some fantastic songs on it.

Yes that is his classic AOR album.

How damned good is 'Blame It On The Night' ?? Got those dut dut keyboards in the chorus....awesome. Great guitar too.

'The Shining' is another fav....just mad over the top song, similar to prime time Meatloaf.

Cheers

Yeah, "Blame It On The Night" is a fantastic track but I read that it's actually a cover ?! Would be intresting to hear the original.

"Stranger In A Strange Land" and "Been In Love Before" are also awesome..what a voice!!

Well mate I can help you right there - the original was recorded by Fandango which featured the always awesome Joe Lynn Turner (album from 1980)

Although I have to admit that the Jon English version is MUCH better, and that's because it features Mike Slamer on geeeetar :-))

Cheers
