Poison - 'Swallow this... Live'

Despite 'Souls on fire' being, imo, the first blatant filler Poison ever recorded, I thought the other three songs were three of the best songs Poison ever recorded. I have a feeling that if they'd recorded an entire CD in these sessions I'd probably list it up with my all-time favourite CDs.

 

So, out of these three brilliant tracks (4 if you want to include 'Souls on fire') which one did you like best?

 

I'd have to go with 'No more more lookin' back' personally because it's about the most bad-ass thing Poison ever released. Absolute melodic / US hard rock perfection. 'Only time will tell' would be a close 2nd and I think this is the best ballad Poison ever wrote. 'So tell me why' would be third - commercial hard rock bliss - but is also very close. Hard to seperate the three gems.

Agree with you there Geoff, a full length album from these recording sessions would have been great.

"So Tell Me Why" was a great song as was "Only Time Will Tell".

 

I neve cared much for "Souls on Fire" and don't remember "No Lookin Back" but I only had the cassette back in the day and I don't think it had that on it.
