I'm very late to the party on this one, This arrived today and I'm playing it for the first time now. Absolutely wonderful melodic/pop-rock/blues/AOR album. Looking around on the net is seems pretty well known and has lots of great reviews. For those who haven't heard of it, it features Kenney Jones (Small Faces/The Who/The Law), Rick Wills (Peter Frampton/Roxy Music/Small Faces/Bryan Ferry/David Glimour/Foreigner/Bad Co), Robert Hart (The Distance/Bad Co/Company Of Snakes).

Any other fans? I'm really loving this one. 'Angel' and 'Six To Midnight' are my favs after the first spin. 4 years ago now, I hope there will be a second album from them.

EDIT...I just read that 'Angel' is actually a single from Robert Harts 1992 solo album, I think I have that album somewhere, will have to check it out.

Good disc with some nice tunes. Both Robert Hart's solo albums are really good aswell if you can find them (I still haven't tracked down his first one 'Cries And Whispers'). Don't forget the excellent Distance album 'Under One Sky'' he did aswell, which is well worth a spin or three.

You may also wanna grab the Burglar soundtrack, where they (Robert Hart & DISTANCE) performed 2 really good songs.

Great music !

You may hear one of them here:

I'm a massive Robert Hart fan. When the Jones Gang CD was only released in the USA, I tracked down a kindly American to buy me a copy and post it across, he was into Eyehategod etc, never lived it down with his mates!

IMO, the self titled solo disc is much better than Cries & Whispers. Included on that is some of the most sublime AOR of all time IMO. I traded the Distance album away years ago because I just couldn't get on with it. May try to track it down again!

His work with Bad Company showed Rogers up for the wasted talent he has become IMO. Company Of Strangers is a marvellous album.

Man I wish this thread had come up earlier. I just picked the Jones Gang CD up for something like $2.37 from Secondspin (postage included) and they've had that The Distance CD there for ages but I always passed on it. Sure enough, it's gone now. :(

Not sure what I mean by this post, but I really don't like this album at all. 'The time of your life' is an okay tune, I pretty much hate the rest.

Established in 2022 by the visionary frontman Aviroop Basu, the band's inception signaled the emergence of a musical force destined to captivate audiences worldwide. In December 2022, Fire In The Rodeo unveiled their maiden opus, the demo single "Back for More." This inaugural offering showcased their mastery over their chosen genres and provided a tantalizing glimpse into their musical prowess. Building upon the fervor ignited by their debut, the band resounded once again in July 2023 with their second single, "Ready To Fight." With this release, they cemented their status as a rising musical powerhouse, earning fervent accolades from aficionados and critics alike.   Fire In The Rodeo's artistic genesis draws inspiration from the illustrious lineage of Kix, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Motley Crue, among other luminaries. Such influences seamlessly intertwine within their compositions, resulting in a harmonious synthesis of sonic excellence. A defining hallmark of their artistry lies in their reverence for the 80s era of rock 'n' roll—a golden age that continues to resonate deeply within their musical ethos. By infusing modern nuances into this revered soundscape, Fire In The Rodeo conjures a distinctive auditory experience that marries the classic with the contemporary.   Their sonic tapestry is woven with roaring anthemic guitars, percussive rhythms that reverberate through the soul, and guitar riffs that scorch with undeniable intensity. Aviroop Basu's vocals ascend to extraordinary heights, delivering a high-octane performance that transcends musical boundaries. The band's chorus lines, irresistibly catchy and persistently memorable, have an uncanny ability to embed themselves within the listener's consciousness—a testament to the compositional brilliance they wield.   Amidst their meteoric ascent, Fire In The Rodeo solidified their trajectory by signing a landmark worldwide deal with the esteemed record label Lions Pride Music in 2023. This milestone paves the way for the much-anticipated release of their debut album in February 2025—an event that promises to redefine the contemporary rock landscape. • I just stumbled across this power trio.... not too bad at all. The vocalist reminds me of a cross between Lex Koritni and Chris Cornell in some tunes. Nice production and good sound.
