F1 2009 Season

As Bernie owns the commercial rights, it must be down to him.

Remember, he spent a lot of money in the past on the PPV digital tv service that failed, so you would have to hazard a guess that he is refusing to pay for the HD cameras etc.

As the tv companies are responsible for the broadcasts of the race in their country, I'd assume they are either expected to pick up the tab for this, or Bernie wants more money from them if they broadcast in HD as well.

The man has lost touch with the fact that the fans are the most important thing for F1, and without them, he wouldnt be the multi millionaire/billionaire that he is!

Glad the FIA stuck to thier guns and have once again declared the difusers legal!

Maybe the other teams will stop whining like bitches now, and rise to the technical challenge!

Congratulations to Jenson Button for tying up the championship with a true champions drive.

Gotta love Brazil as a track as it certainly is one of the few tracks where overtaking is possible!

Of course you mustn't forget that the majority of the World's racing & rally cars are built & designed in the UK.

Is that right ?!?! ;)

Hmmm, one German world champion vs ten British champions (eight of which are English) ...doesnt sound "all of a sudden" ;)

Well things are looking shakey for the future this week.

Bridgestone pulling out after next season, Toyota pulling out now and Renault evaluating whether they will continue.

Bridgestone pulling out may not sound so bad, but after the way the FIA and Bernie shafted Michelin giving the tender to Bridgestone, and blew Goodyear offf when they wanted to return, there are not going to be that many options for tyre suppliers. Pirelli I think is interested, but I cant see who else will be.

Toyota pulling out will only affect the driver market as obviously Williams was the only team using their engines, and they had already switched for next year. And the upside is it should now allow the Sauber team back on the grid, depending on what the FIA say, as obviously Toyota signed the Concorde agreement, comitting themselves to the F1 championship until 2012.

Whether they pull out or not, Renault could really screw up Red Bulls chances next year, as they need to design their car around the engine.

While Brawn proved that you can shoe horn an engine in late, not everyone would be that lucky, and a Newey designed car would probably have a lot less room for adaptation than the Brawn car.

Red Bull has pretty much said this week that they will probably stick with Renault due to the time it is taking to sort out the Merc deal, and they need to design the car around the engine.

I really dont think he had a choice.

From the minute Merc started negotations, they made it clear that they didnt want him, despite what they say in the media.

Brawn were not playing fair with the way they dragged out signing him, and once Merc was in the frame for a takeover, the McLaren contract came within 2 days, proving that his services were no longer required.

Going anywhere else (dont forget the only other real contender was gonna be Red Bull, and both seats there were full) would have seen him doing a Damon Hill at Arrows.

I think he will surprise people this year, as Hamilton wont find the new fuel rules and narrower front tyres to his liking.

I was talking to Hamiltons brother Nick, a month or two ago, and even he says that he is shit with his tyres, and the new rules suit Jenson better.
