Street Legal - Thunderdome

The "Thunderdome" release from 2000 was pretty good IMO. Hard rock in the vein of Thin Lizzy with touches of Whitesnake. Now they are about to release the new one ("Bite The Bullet") through Frontiers in early 2009.
I'm not sure if these two songs (demos) are featured on it but take a listen to Somebody Up There Likes Me and the smokin' version of Michael Sembello's Maniac

Great stuff :banger:

A band that I'm not too familiar with but judging by these samples I should check out more of them. Great stuff!

boy haven't we been kept waiting a real long time for this, wasn't tghis suposed to be out 2003/2004?

i'm extremely keen on checking this out :beerbang:

Don't know what the problem was with the new one but it is long overdue. The debut was a bit divided, half of the album pretty decent, the other half simply excellent.

I could download it right now but don't care for them...

I could give it a spin too, but I also haven't bothered... yet. I am thinking of doing so out of respect to DaVinci, but I can't say I'm excited. The debut wasn't awful, but wasn't real good either.

Well, got to track 9 and just had to call it a day. I tried. If you liked the debut you might like this, but I think it's even worse (because there was one great ballad on the debut). The thing is, this is not BAD music. If you like older Whitesnake, or Badlands and that type of thing this is probably up your alley, but it is really, really not my scene. Not a decent chorus or beefy riff or hook to be found on this thing...

The first one really didn't grab me, except the song powertool and some others few.

Now I must take it out of my cellar, It's been there for so long time.

The new mp3 are itneresting,

Maniac is a cover heard form many other bands, like my sharona for example ,

It should be better Use more fantasy and choose something more original than this deja heard cover.

This band in no way sounds like Badlands but is instead an awesome tribute to the great Thin Lizzy.

If you like Thin Lizzy with a small dash of Whitesnake then you'd love this band but if don't appreciate Lizzy then you wouldn't like this band it's that simple IMO. The new one 'Street Legal' is awesome IMO and is full of great harmonies and great musicianship with some excellent songs.

There were a few excellent songs on this release. 'Red Light District' is awesome, 'Wrong Side Of Time' also. 'Chasing The Rainbow' another winner.

Agreed, some really good songs, of which I'd include the title track, but also a few that I usually skip when playing the cd

    • Hope Butch and band could change their mind and release it on CD, as it's on vinyl at the moment. Or might have drag out my old gramophone to listen to it.
    • Posted about them before, but seems minimal interest in them here. Were supposed to your Australia with the treatment but recently cancelled 😮‍💨 For me Fat Bottomed Girls Trump's the original. CD is pretty good.
    • Another 2025 release? seems like a date mistake until you notice that they quote Feb 2025 twice in the write up(beginning & end)... the music itself doesn't sound too bad at all.
    • Yep. Always good when Butch is back. Solo or M3 😀
    • April 28. 2025?  Well, at least they have time to get it right.
    • You mean these songs... New album 'IV' out October 13th. Sounds good. TRACKLIST 1. My Old School Metal Heart 2. Kill A Motherfucker That Breaks Your Heart 3. Growing All My Hair Out 4. If We’re On Fire (Let It Burn) 5. PTSD (Post Touring Singer’s Depression) 6. Jackie and Tina 7. The Devil Made The World While God Was Sleeping 8. Time To Let It Go 9. She Sheila 10. Fire In The Rodeo   Fire In The Rodeo is: Aviroop Basu (Demonskreamer): Vocals Suvojeet Das (FlamexXx): Guitars Shambo Roychoudhury (PoisonX): Guitars Dhritiman Som (Weirdodo): Drums Nilavro Ghosh (Rony): Bass   Hailing from the culturally rich city of Kolkata, India, Fire In The Rodeo stands as a beacon of contemporary Heavy Rock, Glam Metal, and Melodic Rock fusion. Established in 2022 by the visionary frontman Aviroop Basu, the band's inception signaled the emergence of a musical force destined to captivate audiences worldwide. In December 2022, Fire In The Rodeo unveiled their maiden opus, the demo single "Back for More." This inaugural offering showcased their mastery over their chosen genres and provided a tantalizing glimpse into their musical prowess. Building upon the fervor ignited by their debut, the band resounded once again in July 2023 with their second single, "Ready To Fight." With this release, they cemented their status as a rising musical powerhouse, earning fervent accolades from aficionados and critics alike.   Fire In The Rodeo's artistic genesis draws inspiration from the illustrious lineage of Kix, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Motley Crue, among other luminaries. Such influences seamlessly intertwine within their compositions, resulting in a harmonious synthesis of sonic excellence. A defining hallmark of their artistry lies in their reverence for the 80s era of rock 'n' roll—a golden age that continues to resonate deeply within their musical ethos. By infusing modern nuances into this revered soundscape, Fire In The Rodeo conjures a distinctive auditory experience that marries the classic with the contemporary.   Their sonic tapestry is woven with roaring anthemic guitars, percussive rhythms that reverberate through the soul, and guitar riffs that scorch with undeniable intensity. Aviroop Basu's vocals ascend to extraordinary heights, delivering a high-octane performance that transcends musical boundaries. The band's chorus lines, irresistibly catchy and persistently memorable, have an uncanny ability to embed themselves within the listener's consciousness—a testament to the compositional brilliance they wield.   Amidst their meteoric ascent, Fire In The Rodeo solidified their trajectory by signing a landmark worldwide deal with the esteemed record label Lions Pride Music in 2023. This milestone paves the way for the much-anticipated release of their debut album in February 2025—an event that promises to redefine the contemporary rock landscape. As the journey of Fire In The Rodeo unfolds, their music serves as a tribute to an era bygone, a testament to the evolution of sound, and a testimony to the enduring allure of rock 'n' roll.
