Another sketchbag seller from Japan

Recommended Posts

I don't know if anyone else has had a problem with this guy, but I've been waiting over MONTH for the new Final Frontier CD, "Freelight". I bought it with Paypal on Sept 21 and it's still not here. I've filed a Paypal complaint as I've heard nothing from this guy since about mid-October. The seller is

TOKYOROCKADOM

His feedback is pretty rough, but most of it comes from one bidder, so I thought I'd have a better experience. Proven wrong!!

A month? Neg the bastard. The guy must be utterly disorganized ala davesmetal.

Interestingly, one of the BEST sellers I've ever dealt with over the years is in Japan, seller tokyonewyork. I've had packages arrive from him within 4 days of the auction just using regular air mail. Packages from him in Tokyo routinely get to me far quicker than packages from the east or west coast of the U.S. Also, since his shipping charges are now generally less costly than from European sellers, it makes buying from Japan more of an option.

So assuming you cannot blame the postal system for the delays, the only thing left is a lame seller.

-Dan

P.S. My record to date getting a package here in podunk IL from Tokyo is on the 3rd day after the postmarked date. Amazing.

You're making it really tempting for me to drop a negative, but I'll hold out until 90 days. Another week and the Paypal chargeback verdict comes through and that will be the best revenge. :) He's got a pretty eye-for-an-eye feedback history, so if I neg him, I'll be positively getting a negative in return. :(

Brian leads me to think he may pull through. I've been to Disk Heaven in Tokyo (with PJ)... it's quite a place. Imagine every CD with an OBI and having to pull each one out to see the artist/title/etc. No just reading the spine!! Makes a 30 minute visit to the record store into a 2 hour ordeal!! But who said being a kid in a candy store was easy???

-_-

That's what it's like for me everytime I go cd shoping over here. I always make sure I leave the wife at home because I can be in a store for hours. I really love it when I pull out cd and it is an awesome find. I actually getting good learning some of the Hiragana and Katakana characters for some of my favorite bands.

Disk Heaven Japan are good people... Never delt with the person (call name) you speak of, Koogs, but if he is connected with Disk Heaven Japan drop them a line and I'm sure everything will work out fine.

I think this guy is on the fast track to being NARUed. 12 out of the last 35 feedbacks have been negatives. I'd stay away.

I've visited Disk Heaven. It's quite a place and you're right, Frank, the staff are top notch. However, there are things involved with running an eBay business that is quite unlike running a conventional record store. I feel this seller, Tokyorockadom, either ships very infrequently or sells CDs he doesn't physically have in stock. Either way, there's a huge gulf between this seller and the many other excellent Japanese sellers who ship quickly to North America, among other many European/South American countries.

I need to know now, did you get the CD?

    • That is simply brilliant...such a great band...love that artwork...this has made my day
    • New EP out now, digital only. From rocknloadmag.com: Swedish melodic hard rock supergroup Crowne will release a new live EP entitled ‘Live From Studio Gröndahl’ on 19th August, a little treat to hold fans over as they await the release of a second album by the band. A live performance ‘Kings In The North’ from the EP is available from today on all digital platforms. The studio recording of ‘Kings In The North’ was the title track of their 2021 debut album, a record that truly delivered on the promise of the combined talents of the group members. Comprised of vocalist Alexander Strandell (Art Nation), guitarist/keyboardist/producer Jona Tee (H.E.A.T.), bassist John Levén (Europe) and drummer Christian Lundqvist (The Poodles), the record was a tour de force of Scandinavian melodic hard rock. It also featured guitar solos from Love Magnusson (Dynazty), who has now joined the line-up as permanent lead guitarist. ‘Live From Studio Gröndahl’ features the quintet tearing through five songs from ‘Kings In The North’ and allows fans to hear (and see) them playing live in an intimate setting. Crowne is the most exciting, thrilling supergroup created to date from the Swedish melodic hard rock scene. Having already crafted a beast of a debut, this stellar cast of outstanding musicians are currently working diligently to better it with the recording of its follow-up. • That's good to hear. The album Vanity Kills was pretty awesome. Some of the songs had bit of modern rock vibe to them which I thought was cool. Yep, hope we get to hear more music from you guys.
    • Album out now. Listen to the rest of the album:
    • 'Forgotten Toys' out now. Listen to the rest of the album:
    • Love these guys. In my opinion, they are more of hard/melodic rock than synthwave. Plenty of guitar riffs and solos. Another killer track, my fave song so far this year.

    • Yes, I'm the new bassplayer :). I have asked Ward Dufraimont to answer your question, as he is better suited to reply: In a nutshell : Expectations were high in 2010 with a debut album out on MelodicRock Records and big dreams, unfortunately the wheels started coming off from the word ‘go’. After losing our permanent drummer and rehearsal space and wasting precious time trying to sort that all out, frustration started to kick in. In an effort to keep moving forward, we recorded a second full length album in 2012, which sits unmixed on a hard-drive somewhere. Sometimes life gets in the way, and we decided to shelve the whole thing before friendships were lost. In 2022, with enough water under the bridge, we are back in full force, with a deluxe reissue of the debut album (out of print for years) to kickstart the whole thing. Playing out as much as we can, opening for the likes of FM, Jelusick, Gun, and others this year, spreading the word. We hope to have a new single out later this year, and more new music next year. A new decade, a new lineup, a fresh start. Nothing’s gonna stop us now !
    • New album out today.  Gave it one listen and seems pretty decent and in line with their last album. Worth checking if you liked their last one.
