  1. Just loading this one up. Loved a lot of their stuff. Pressure and Time a really great song. Anybody heard it yet?
  2. Always had time for him. Liked his last album a lot.
  3. Didn't really listen to them much. It's what you'd expect. Riffs, screaming vocals and press shots of Glenn Hughes with his mouth open. I've given it quite a few more spins on the flight back from Phili to Munich and I really do like this one. Sweet Tea, in particular, has me hooked.
  4. I suspect this album would have had a better reaction if they'd swapped the song order around. The second half is actually OK.
  5. You might want to listen to some of the lyrics more closely before letting your 13 year old daughter lose on it;-)
  6. I kind of like half the tracks. It's certainly grown on me. Part of the problem is they launch the album with a song that's completely different in sound to their previous stuff. Get further on and there are some tracks more of what i'd expect from them.
  7. For me it's one of the best albums of the last few years. Holds together very well. And she's hot as hell. I was lucky enough to see them live a couple of weeks ago and they put together a really good show as well.
  8. Can't make my mind up. First few listens I was wondering what's going on. At times a Jane's addition feel to a few songs, not a bad thing but not what this band was about. But then some of them have really started to grow on me. Lucky 13 a more standard sleaze rock song of quality. Then Miss You a catchy ditty. There are good songs in there. I suspect my attention will wander off to something else shortly though. I'd say it's worth a spin or two though. Anybody else heard it yet?
  9. Loved their last album. Looking forward to this one. Just appeared on Deezer so giving it a go now. So far doesn't seem as aggressive as the last album but I'll give it a few spins before saying too much.
  10. The Eurovision demonstrates two things. Firstly, why the European Union doesn't really work. Everybody just votes for/against their neighbor. Secondly there are some things on this planet that only really make sense if you're very very drunk. I fear you may be taking it a little too seriously.
  11. Not at all. Every now and then I wonder, when I get around to it all, what albums will surprise me by how highly I rate them, and I have 'LBWET' bookmarked, as well as Vain's 'No Respect,' Tuff's 'What Goes Around' and Bang Gang's 'Love Sells.' I probably won't get many people agreeing with that, but I find all 4 discs as close to flawless as I can think of - all brilliant from start to end. You'll get me to agree on the Bang Gang and Vain. Not sure how many have heard the Bang Gang but both oh their albums are phenomenal. Other two are certainly exceptionally good.
  12. Being a guitarist in Whitesnake is like being a character in Game of Thrones. You know they'll be going, you just don't know when. I really like Reb Beach. When I saw him with Winger the other day I was mesmerized, he's one of those genius who just makes it look like he was born with a guitar in his hands.
  13. I personally love your reviews and have got to listen to many great albums because of them. I think what people struggle with is the 100%. Thankfully we all have different tastes or we'd all be after exactly the same women.
  14. Perfect album will always make me think of the Kerrang review of Aerosmith's Permanent Vacation where it gave it 110% for side 1, 110% for side 2 and 110% for the hole in the middle. Or whatever their ranking system was. The perfect albums to me are the ones I just keep coming back to year on year.. And telling is most of them are from back in the day. Disks I personally think of as perfect: 1. Sisters of Mercy - Vision Thing 2. Rock City Angels - Young Man's Blues 3. Enuff Z Nuff - 1st 4. LA Guns - 1st 5. Guns and Roses - Appetite 6. Romeo's Daughter - 1st. Of Andrews probably only the Treat album has grabbed me and shaken me to pieces. I'm sat there looking at the new HEAT album being rated at 100%. Fabulous album. Listening to it in a year, let alone 20? Probably not.
  15. She said they are half way through recording it. They did play one new song. Can't say it blew me away but a concert is rarely the best place to hear a new tune.
  16. Great show. She's a great frontwoman and the band were really top notch. Haven't we moved passed the drum solo though?
  17. Halestorm tomorrow night. Really looking forward to seeing her them.
  18. There's an early review here. You'll need to register but there's a ton of interesting stuff on there so worth doing. http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/features/2014-04-21/first-impression-tesla-s-new-album-simplicity Tesla have always been one of my absolute favorite bands. Always exciting when they put new stuff out and maybe I finally get to see them live.
  19. It's a fairly generic Winger track but not offensive? Personally I'm struggling with Tin Soldiers. Seems to have no redeeming features.
  20. Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction. After a day and a half of Winger time to try something else. I do like Paloma. Wacky girl with some decent tunes.
  21. So on the 4th or 5th spin now. Growing on me. It's certainly not a classic but some mighty fine tunes in there. Really like Midnight Love Machine, Queen Babylon, Better Days are comin', So Long China, Still don't like Rat Race.
  22. How do you define this? Loads of disks I love that few seem to have been interested in. Gerry Laffy - Money and Magic, The Grip - Be Yourself would strike me as two great disks few talk about.
  23. Cinderella must hold the world record for the number of live albums released?
