  1. In Germany there are vile solicitors who send out huge fines (1000s of euros potentially) for this sort of thing. They are watching. Torrents are for sure easy to track. Since the advent of cheap streaming sites like spotify I just pay for these knowing they are legal.
  2. This one been getting my attention today. California the standout track but basically well done rock. I'm enjoying it. Not totally into the ballads , but I rarely am. I'll certainly be playing it more.
  3. So a few listens in and I quite like it. Some catchy tunes. Generation left behind, in particular, hits the spot. Still not convinced by her voice but I have gotten over it. I would be very keen to see them live.
  4. I'm going to trust you guys that you can get past the slightly annoying pitch of the vocals and keep going. Half way through the first spin and all the dogs in the area have run away.
  5. Plenty of spins in and I really like this album. Plenty of 'classic' Kix tracks to keep the fans happy. But every time I hear Inside Outside Inn I cringe. Horrible. Very nice to be played to whoever it was intended for at the appropriate time. The rest of us didn't need to hear it.
  6. I like it. But I'm a long time fan. I love making love to you And those two kids you talked me into. Quite possibly the worst lyrics know to man though?
  7. Gave this one a spin as it's got a decent review in Classic Rock magazine. I really like it. More garage rock/punk than anything but hearing some Smashed Gladys and Sea Hags in there , occasionally. If you like some raw rock which takes no prisoners might be worth a spin for you. Probably best not to watch the video before bedtime as the lead singer is one scary woman and likely to give you nightmares . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwTwX0nT4y0#t=145
  8. I'd say the first two. I love their first album as well. Second is for sure the stronger.
  9. Another fine band goes down the covers album route. Has anybody ever done a good covers album? 1. Everything Works If You Let It 2. Stone Cold Crazy 3. She Sells Sanctuary 4. All Apologies 5. Believe It Or Not 6. The Jean Genie 7. Run For Your Life 8. When Doves Cry 9. Tears Of A Clown 10. The Stroke 11. Yankee Rose 12. Jealous Guy BONUS TRACKS 13. You ve Got To Hide Your Love Away (Live on Howard Stern) 14. New Thing (Live Unplugged In London)
  10. Given the quality of releases so far this year these two opinions are not mutually exclusive.
  11. Another of my favorite bands. I'd have to go back and listen to What If again to reminds myself of the songs, which I guess shows how good it is? I'd love to see this band live.
  12. Not got a full list but Rival Sons - Great Western Valkyrie is up there for me.
  13. Not every song but there are times his delivery sounds a lot like Jeff Keith to me. So my current favourite song is 'It's not faith'. Love it. Every time I listen to this album it keeps getting better and better. Guess I must just be a bit slow.
  14. So as there was a buzz about this one I've been giving it a good go. Probably on the 5th or 6th spin. Didn't grab me immediately. Then slowly it's growing on me. Some really great songs. Moments I hear Tesla, though not often, Moments I hear Icon, All in all very good.
  15. Saw Vain in Edinburgh by luck last week. Happened to be there on business and saw they were playing. Nice as I saw them first UK tour and now I got to see them on probably their last . Great fun and had the added bonus that I think I can say I'm ageing way better than an 80s sex icon.
  16. I'd kind of expected the Winger and Tesla to be the best and I do enjoy them but they are neither bands best output. Very good albums though. The only album that's absolutely grabbed me this year is Paloma Faith. I also really like the Chrissie Hynde's album. Neither really rock but both fine slabs of music. And I like Shakira. Apparently she has music out as well.
  17. It's Tesla. It's never going to be bad but it is a bit softer than some of their stuff. I still like it. However , please, let that be the single ever friendly dog bark on a hard rock album.
  18. Seems I have a new theme tune. Love it. His last album got positive and negative reviews. I'm one that loved it and really look forward to this if it's in the same direction. That's a mighty fine start!
  19. Been listening to this a lot in the car this week and I really like it. Good 70s style rock with a modern production. Still nobody else heard it?
  20. Saw Soundgarden and Black Sabbath last Friday. Loved Soundgarden. Still for the life of me can't see the attraction of Sabbath.
  21. Never too sure what category she and the Pretenders are in , except freaking awesome. So perhaps not 'heavy' enough for these pages but she's one of the queens of rock music and this album is keeping me away from Tesla, occasionally. 62 years old and still has 'that voice'. Amazing.
  22. Got sidetracked by the Tesla and Chrissie Hynde. Doesn't sound too bad, after a couple of spins.
  23. So onto my third of fourth listen. The songs are bedding in. This is very very good. Edit: Been listening to it all day. Well except for my 2 hour catnap (Rock and Roll!). Really enjoying it a lot. Ricochet and absolute fantastic track, up there with anything they've done. Many other fantastic tracks as well. Looking forward to seeing what others think but this will be in my top 10 of the year for sure.
  24. And there she is. That'll be my morning sorted. Very exciting.
