  1. Hate it when they pointlessly remaster a song and ruin it
  2. The Ones Below. Wasn't bad, but the acting felt pretty stilted and it felt a bit too contrived. Was okay for an evening's 'entertainment' though
  3. Tattoo Rodeo Restless Heart https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FM5s7GODcW8
  4. Yaaay, glad you enjoyed it (and made it)! How on earth could you be sorry to have an extra 2 days in Brum though? You could have come out to the home of Heavy Metal in the Black Country and gone sledging with us in Stourbridge
  5. Is that Birmingham Alabama or Birmingham West Midlands?
  6. Wow, that House of Lords opener - awesome!
  7. ah and 2 votes for this so I'll listen to that after Ozzy Osborne. Yaaayyy hopefully I'll find some new favourites for myself too
  8. Ah, you're the 2nd person who's mentioned the Ozzy Osbourne one to me so I will give that a listen first
  9. Anyone get any favourite tracks with killer intros they'd like to share? I've got a few that I really love, they kind of build excitement for the song and even though the songs themselves aren't necessarily among my top listens I'll play them just because I love the openings so much. I was working on a blog this morning and that's what got me thinking about it. My top ones are: Duran Duran - Rio Dire Straits - Money for Nothing Raw Silk - Journey of No Return Chris Rea - Road to Hell (the extended version)
  10. Fracture with Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins. Pretty good thriller, just right for evening's entertainment
  11. Haha, I do that. I'm gonna be worrying that i'm annoying the person behind me though from now on. Why I do it I'm not really sure except for the fact that my handbag is heavy enough already without it being loaded down with loose change. And how come my purse has all that loose change in the first place? Because I flipping have to clean up all the coins left lying around the house by my husband - presumably because he shares your aversion to getting rid of it by paying the exact amount for things!
  12. Wooh this post has set me off on a DM fest. They've written some awesome stuff but I'd not heard any of the above pieces before. I had a listen to them and then got side tracked by my favourites Everything Counts, Enjoy the Silence, The Policy of Truth etc Lysette Anthony (the girl in the I Feel You video) was in Bryan Adam's Run to You too. I remember wishing I could look like her when I was younger
  13. Awful if it was actually him and they could've been so close to catching and stopping him
  14. Found it. I remember watching that when it was shown on tv here. It's fascinating and certainly plausible. The bit about his job meaning that it wouldn't be unusual for him to have blood on him was interesting. It's the fact that he lived for a long time after the murders stopped that raises doubts for me though
  15. Aaaggghh the video content is blocked in my country. I'll have a hunt on the internet for it. Just in case I can't find it though, what's the name of the suspect?
  16. Ah, I'll have a watch of that tomorrow, I've read up a lot on the Ripper history. You're right, ther've been several suspects identified over the years, some more convincing than others. I recently read a book about James Berry, a hangman here in the UK who claimed to have hung the Ripper. His memoirs are available online too via this link https://ia800300.us.archive.org/19/items/MyExperiencesAsAnExecutioner/Berry.pdf
  17. The Waterboys Be My Enemy (one of my favourites - though I think technically it is an anti-hate song as it has a quote next to it of "Each sees his own side and no other")
  18. Yep I guess it always is good to check it out personally and make your own opinion. As Darkstone says, it can help if they mention a comparable band/sound too
  19. I like it but it sounds like country and western to me.
  20. Ooh, yes, that feature is always really helpful : 'If you like this band then you would probably like this one too' I've discovered bands (and films) that way a lot too
