  1. Batman is a super hero, not a Superhero
  2. That's great! I'd forgotten that track
  3. That's beautiful.... and so is this (Break In, sung by Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee)
  4. Wow, he sure gives it some welly on Can't turn it off. (Siga vre! as we say in Greek)
  5. I love that Cher album, but my one minor gripe with it would be that the backing vocals are a little too much at times. Too loud, too obnoxious. Best example of it is 'Emotional Fire.' Killer song, just too much towards the end, in terms of backing vocals. Anyway, I'd probably have to agree that the Sunstorm version is my personal fave too. Oooh 3 - 2 to Bolton at the moment It's tight, though. I could argue for both, but I think I just like the more "guitars-ish' version from Sunstorm. Was pretty close for me too, the keyboards put me off Bolton's version....but then strictly speaking I guess it means we're not comparing them based solely on the singers' performances The music in the Sunstorm one is better, but although JLT is a great, great singer, i agree with Glen about the passion that Bolton brings to it. It is very close though. Oooh, you should be a politician. Very good answer

  7. Lol. I see I'll have to check Michael Bolton out a bit more. I think I've always got him mixed up with Michael Buble
  8. This one gets me (almost) every time Alison Moyet This House http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy5aAQktE68

  10. I'd not heard that before. Listened to Cher first as I assumed I'd prefer hers but wasn't impressed. Then Bolton's - I assumed I would hate as I've always had the false impression he was a cheesy covers performer - oh how wrong I've been - whoops! - not least because he wrote this track so it's Cher who is doing the cover. His performance was more convincing. Then Sunstorm and I liked theirs best on 1st listening. Just to be sure, I went back and listened to them all again. 2nd listening of Cher I thought her performance is good, it's the backing singers that ruin it for me. 2nd listening of Bolton's, still thought he did a great performance. 2nd listening Sunstorm, still liked theirs best so that's the one that got added to my playlist Yaaayy!! I'm gonna start a thread to find other great songs with the theme material of that song (ie you wouldn't recognise love if it hit you in the face). It's a song topic I've heard a lot and there is one that I know I love and I can't quite remember what its title is so maybe if I start a thread someone will identify it for me (or I'll remember it myself)
  11. Love everything about the song. The melodious guitar riffs..the excellent vocals and most importantly the way the song is structured. I also like the way the song ends with the guitar riffs. Not too sure about the drummer in the video though haha but he s the most animated one. Good answer. Haha re drummer, I couldn't take my eyes of his 'tache Any ya, good lyrics and musicianship. Cheers Ponen! I remember reading that now
  12. Good grief. That is crazy! Crazy awesome? Absolutely
  13. Treat - Take Me On Your Wings Toto - Straight for the Heart Toto - Angel Don't Cry the key phrase here is "and many more" Lol. Can't remember if I've asked you what makes a song perfect for you? (apologies if I have, I'm just finishing my tea break so haven't got time to go back through the thread to check )
  14. Just heard this on the on demand COAR show. Was pretty impressed
  15. Certainly the ones I've mentioned are ones I enjoy listening to especially if I'm working on the computer. The rockmelodic radio has a real mixture of old and new tracks which suits me well for general listening if I'm listening for a long spell as I do prefer to hear some that I recognise usually. DJ Sonny and Timothy J are brilliant though - so passionate about what they do - so I love to support their shows and what they're doing for new artists by listening when I can. I'll give the station simo mentions a go a the weekend. Is the station you mention called Sirius? I bet if enough there was enough interest shown they would do a rock show too, especially if they cover the other genres
  16. I think I'll watch Martha tonight. Practice some German
  17. Have you got a favourite Karpet? I haven't decided whetherforeign films are better than Hollywood or it's just that I'm concentrating on the subtitles+trying to understand at the same time so I'm not giving as much attention to the quality of acting/cinematography etc. They certainly FEEL deeper though
  18. Whooops and I haven't listened to that one yet I don't think... or have I? I've been listening to so much recently There were like five or six suggestions. That's what I was thinking - which one? 'Stay?' Anyway, of course we're never going to find a tune that everyone considers perfect... that is not possible. I think the best we can hope for is a song that everyone agrees is excellent. I'd definitely vote for this one; I can't even flipping agree with myself on one that I find perfect, though there are plenty that come close. I had a listen to all the Giant ones mentioned. I like their overall sound but i think they're aimed at the male market - they felt a bit too masculine for me. I'll see you in my dreams reminded me of Phil Collins Against all odds so I had a listen to that too -- wow the contrast in voices made poor Phil sound very weedy. Stay is one of the few that I added to my playlist though
  19. hmm looks interesting, I like some French flicks here and there. Some more recent ones I watched were: Amour & Turbulences - fluffy romantic comedy Qu'est-ce qu-on a fait au Bon Dieu - nice comedy. Rust and Bone- drama Cool me too, but I GOTTA have subtitles otherwise I don't unterstand a thing Seen the quest quon fait (Monsieur Claude) too, was funny but just like Radin a bit "cliché" I thought . But I'd definitely recommend LOLO and will have to watch it again The only French film I've seen is Incendies. Pretty good, too. It's actually French-Canadian. What about Intouchables? That was a big hit about 5 years ago (at least in Europe), about a guy in a wheelchair becoming friends with his black caretaker despite their obvious differences Oooh and Amelie was pretty enjoyable, thought it seemed to go on a bit too long. Plus La Reine Margot I LOVE foreign films, but then I love learning languages too which helps. House of Flying Daggers is awesome - so beautiful to watch and the costumes OMG
  20. OOOhh birthday boy? Happy birthday!
  21. I think I'll tune in this Saturday as well ;-) last time I did must have been about 3 years ago Was quite good actually at that time they were promoting H.E.A.T.'s ''Tearing Down The Walls'' and the Three Lions album and playing tracks other than the singles prior to the albums' releases To be honest, it's only recently I've started tuning in to radio stations again (+ sometimes I'm naughty and listen to the recorded shows so I can skip through any tracks I'm not enjoying - but I always feel bad doing that for some reason. Major guilt complexes, or maybe I worry I'll skip a track which would have proved to become a favourite of mine if I'd given it a chance)
  22. For me, the songs that I instantly like tire quickly. The ones that take a few listens are the ones which become my favorites. Yeah, that often happens with me too. And vice versa, some I hate at first actually become favourites
