  1. Hey Tim (2), do you have the Anatomic 'In for the thrill' CD? This song was originally recorded by these guys back in 2000 and the album is quite awesome (ex-Shy Tiger). If you like it you'll love the rest of the disc. BTW, listening to Impelliteri, a selection.
  2. What is this 15? Very curious??? I have a demo cassette around somewhere that has some pre Buck Cherry tracks back when they called them self Sparrow? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> '15' is thier new disc. Not sure if it's been released yet, only heard an advanced copy. Pretty damn good too. Some great tracks. As for my listenings... Cauterize - 'Paper wings' Bullet for my Valentine ... angry music for a fitting time...
  3. I've got the following on constant rotation: Funeral For a Friend's 2 albums Story of the Year's 2 albums Rise Against's newie The Used's 2 albums ... the reason being I am attending the 'Taste of Chaos' tour in Sydney on this Saturday night to view these bands and Killswitch Engage (Yuck). But I can't wait for the above 4!!!
  4. Hello Geoff, on which PC69 album is this song ? I can't find it on mine. Or do you mean "Shattered Prophecy" ? Thanks Swazi <{POST_SNAPBACK}> its that spectacularly average song from Games People Play. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, Kip is half right . The song is from 'Games People Play', but it is a spectacular riff driven monster of a track which is the opus of PC69's career and a focal point in hard rock history, at least for me anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks to both of you !! Tastes differ as we all know. The Games People Play is one of their albums I am still missing. Besides this song, do you recommend it ?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I'd definately recommend it. I think it's probably the 3rd best of the Andi Deris album, but they're all very good so that's not a bad thing. Amazing musicianship is featured on the album, some killer riffs like 'Face in the mirror' and 'Shattered' and overall some very cool songs. Not their best, but IMO a truly essential part of the collection. Definately recommended, and I doubt it'll cost you much to track it down.

  6. About 2-3 years ago I was making a compilation every 6 months or so, but I stopped that. Would love to make heaps of them with the time... but I still think my first was rpobably my best. I can't remember the running order, but here are 14 of the 16 tracks I have on it. Must have been good as I just remembered all these off the top off my head. Can't remember the other 2 songs though. Will try to add the 4 compilations I've done to this thread though when I'm home with them Compilation 1 - The elite collection Seven seas - Steelhouse Lane Just before - Nation With your eyes - Jaded Heart Four Letter words - Masquerade Seal it with a kiss - Casanova Never too late - Pretty Maids Surrender - Steelhouse Lane Still - Steelhouse Lane Never on Monday - Diving For Pearls Stranger than Love - Harem Scarem If you want love - Stun Leer Last Chance - Gunshy Without your love - Amaze Me Shattered - Pink Cream 69 Cheers, Geoff
  7. On the way to work: Skrapp Mettle - Again, I cannot mention enough how much I love 'Spunk Sandwich', 'Swallow that load' and 'Pearl necklace'... just outstanding!!! Smashed Gladys - 2nd album. I honestly thought a dude was singing. Rough sleaze metal, but I like it. Talisman - 'Humanimal'. Love those raunchy riffs!
  8. 'Shanghai Noon' on the weekend, only because nothing else was on. That was about as exciting as polishing my ballsack.
  9. Hey Wotty, how's the new Crystal Ball one? Is it like the first 2 killer albums, or more like the last 2 good solid hard rock, but not great discs? My last few listens have been... Silverstien - awesome The Academy Is... - Very, very good. One of my recent faves - great lyrics. Default - The new one. Wow, what a surprise. Recommended to people here - check out some of those very melodic choruses!!!
  10. 'When love comes down' is a sensational ballad and the reason alone I kept this disc for so long, though the rest is pretty cool metal but not my thing. Sensational ballad though. I listened to the new Shinedown on the way to work, followed by Coastline and now Jossette. Shinedown - 'Us and them'; much rawer than the debut, with better songs and some killer choruses, but not sure overall if it's better than the debut. Good CD and I think their 3rd will be an absolute cracker if they combine the first 2. Coastline - nice CD, but pretty mundane lyrics. Nice though. Jossette - is sounding pretty damn good at the start...
  11. I watched 'Dukes of Hazard' on the weekend. It was actually pretty funny in places. I quite enjoyed it. I still don't know about Jessica Simpson - million dollar body I could run my tongue up and down all day, but still not sold on the face. Enjoyed her contribution to the movie a lot though. Also saw a bit of 'Inspector Gadget' yesterday afternoon. What a mess.
  12. On the way to work... Place Vendome - absolutely awesome. Reminds me of PC69 at their best. Yeah, definately prefer this to Allen/Lande and even the last few PC69 discs. I love it! Legacy - s/t ; Few cool songs, especially the one about going down south. The Spill Canvas - both discs. Man, these guys are something of a marvel. The touching lyrics, the cool acoustic sound. Highly recommended.
  13. My American Heart - 'Meaning in Makeup' ; Very solid album - great riffs. Not 100% convinced after the first listen, but 95% convinced and I do think this is going to grow to be one of my favourite modern rock bands. I really like it a lot. Awesome stuff. My American Heart - s/t ; pathetic production, good songs. Awful sound though. Bonrud - s/t ; I like it a lot. Good ol' fashioned melodic hard rock, very 80's sounding. Great disc. Silent Running - just starting out, but sounding very, very good.
  14. Taproot - 'Blue sky research' (nice surprise) Philip Bardowell - 'In the cut' (also a nice surpise. Good solid album.)
  15. I need a mop over here too Man, what an amazing set of... 'tis the season to be jolly! ... This is that Raylene I also speak of, FYI.
  16. Phil Cristian - 'Prisoner'. Great stuff. Going to listen to The Spill Canvas on the way home - both albums. Brilliant emotive acoustic driven rock (the debut) and the 2nd one is a bit more rockier... very good band though.
  17. 'I cant wait... 'cause forever's just too late to wait to say... I love you... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gosh Geoff......didn't know ya cared.... Spinnin' here....Harem Scarem ~ The Early Years......."Honestly" pass the damn tissues....... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love to love because I love love! Anyway, I just finished listening to that Beau Coup thing again... anyone seen a pair of balls floating around the place?! On the way home it's either going to be The Used or Phil Cristian. Also heard Gary Hughes... uh, I mean Bob Catley at lunch. Skimmed through his first 3 CDs. The first 2 are what they are but the 2001 is horrid. Same ol' thing but I guess I've heard worse... somewhere... like Beau Coup
  18. 'I cant wait... 'cause forever's just too late to wait to say... I love you...' Mmmmmm, what a delightful song! What an album! Love that track though, and the vocals. 'Backside of love' is a killer too. Anyway, I played Rise Against's new album this morning (Man, got to listen some more hard rock as every post I've made here lately has been some wonderful modern rock disc... pretty damn doon band though.
  19. Dude, to each their own but I don't know how you handle the vocals. I love a lot of this nu-metal and although I thought Killswitch Engage and Trivium (and even Alexisonfire) all had cool metallic songs, how can you stand the constant screaming vocals? I don't mind it strategically placed on the album (eg. Hawthorne Heights, or the excelltn Story of the Year), but to have it as the main vocal... to each their own, but certainly not me. In regards to this post, listening to Asia 'Arena' now - what a peice of shit, almost as bad as Balanx, which I just finished with.
  20. All-American Rejects - both albums. Great stuff, I'd have to recommend them to all.
  21. Houston Calls - 'A collection of short stories' ; great CD, one of the better nu-breed ones I've ehard lately.
  22. Do you have a favorite on this one yet? Just curious as to what people are going for.. Spinnin' here......Train ~ 'Meet Virginia' <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey MJ, Really, really enjoying the album. I love the first 3 tracks - 'Have a nice day', 'I wanna be loved' and 'Welcome to wherever you are'. But my fave is 'I am' and also 'Dirty little secret'. 'Complicated' and 'Novacaine' are also both absolute killers, and 'Story of my life' is another fave. The final bonus ballad, 'Open arms' is also a fave. They're my faves and coming in last of the 10, but also a very cool track is 'Unbreakable'. Jeez, I can't tell you the last time I genuinely loved 10 songs from a Bon Jovi disc... it's been a while. I love it, really do.
  23. Is that why they call you Jake The Peg <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That and The Man with Three Legs Also had a couple of people call me 'The guy with this huge piece of meat between his legs'.
  24. On the way to work listened to: Dope - Rough as nuts, but a few pretty cool songs. Straylight Run - Ended up skipping through most the songs out of boredom. My Chemical Romance - Actually pretty cool. Some catchy riffs and good songs. Yesterday it was the Funeral For a Friend bonanza - listened to both those albums. Both very good, and musically excellent. Very impressive. This afternoon on the way back from work I think I'll join a couple of the rest of you and do Bon Jovi's 'Have a nice day' again. I quite like that one...
